Quiet campsite
We were there in July 2018. The receptionist ONLY speaks French, an older lady. She also works in the kiosk. You can get the essentials there (milk, bread, butter, water). It is very positive to get a pitch here even in the high season without booking in advance and of course the proximity to the Atlantic.... You can walk from the campsite to the Atlantic without having to cross a road. It takes about 15 minutes. However, the beach that you then reach has thick pebbles in places, you are just too close to Jard sur Mer. In July, however, it was not as crowded as other parts of the Atlantic beach. The campsite itself is well laid out, the pitches are large, each enclosed by a hedge and regularly maintained. There were many pensioners there, couples over 30 and also many families with children aged 4 to 14. However, the sanitary facilities are very old, with wood. Someone cleaned every evening and morning, but only superficially. You can't be picky here. On the whole, it's a very good value site, even in high season, dogs are welcome, children too, but not so much for teenagers. The proximity to the sea is unbeatable.

Nice, quiet place
Le Sous Bois is a lovely quiet site with lots of shady trees, spacious pitches (although some are only suitable for tents and light caravans due to the ground conditions), clean sanitary facilities and a very nice little playground. The operator is very friendly and helpful. It's a short walk to the... beach, but as the path leads through a secluded forest, it's easy to cope with. The beach itself is very pleasant. There is a very small grocery store on the campsite and it is a few kilometers to the nearest "real" supermarket, but this can be easily managed by bike off the main road. You hardly notice anything of the main road on the campsite, as there is very little of the vacation hustle and bustle.

The campsite is clean,friendly atmosphere.We have been going there for 9 years and it's amazing.Homey atmosphere.Social facilities are clean and tidy.Pitches are large and separated by hedges.People on the campsite are friendly.Prices are excellent.
