"No home - Booked a tipi tent from Sept 6-8, of which I received a confirmation nicely and paid a deposit. Upon arrival they appear to be closed and repeatedly do not respond to mail or messages. Sending a cancellation from their side was apparently too much work for already downpaid customers.... I am still waiting for a response and a refund of my deposit. Bah, what a K service

"Very pleasant campsite with nature, tranquility and no frills - If you are looking for a campsite where you want to experience the tranquility of nature and are satisfied with simple facilities, camping du Faucon in the French Ardennes is a wonderful place. I was surprised the first evening as I drove onto the site, without a reservation, by the friendly notice on the door of the (closed) reception desk: 'Welcome to our campsite. Please choose a free place and report back when the office is open again'. And indeed the sites were free to occupy, there was plenty of space, nature, no frills, simple and clean sanitary facilities and an overall atmosphere of smoothness, 'gentil' in French. Later it turned out that the cost for ordinary camping was very low, almost too low - and that is at the same time the charm. At this campsite there is no café, no outside entertainment. But you can swim in the river and from the campsite, you can arrange to canoe. The camping crowd during this week in August consisted mainly of young adults who came to mountain bike, small families, small campers with elderly people, fishermen, people passing through and others who had enough of the quiet. Then there is also the possibility to spend the night in simple army tents and something more luxurious: in one of the two large attractively decorated teepees with nice mattresses. For me, it was a campsite that offered exactly what I was looking for and actually more than what I had thought at first glance. I will definitely come back!
