beautiful location on the outskirts of the town (approx. 15 min to the town center and approx. 5-10 min to the sandy beach - almost independent of the tides) good location for excursions in the surrounding area (bus, train, bicycle, car) many trees offering shade (but not all day) some hedges that separate the pitches Central location of the sanitary facilities artificial "lagoon" pool with sandy beach on site (but hardly any shade)

The campsite is located on the edge of the village and is very easy to reach by bus/train, car etc. (some navigation systems show the wrong location). There were enough pitches free at the time, so that you got a pitch with trees. There are also some pitches without shade. There are plenty of power points... on the pitches and they are well distributed around the site. The sanitary facilities are separate, plentiful and kept clean.
Châtelaillon Plage is a good starting point for excursions to the north of La Rochelle or to the south towards Rochford or Ile d'Oleron. You can also explore the coast on foot or by bike, which is sometimes flatter and sometimes steeper towards the sea. There are several sandy beaches in the area for swimming. The promenades offer a few stores and restaurants, but they are quite spread out. As a result, places in restaurants can be scarce in the evening (especially now due to the increased distances).
We liked the campsite here and can recommend it to others. The region is definitely worth a visit. Have a great vacation

Tavern with German butcher music
A site that includes a swimming pool, playground, but unfortunately also a pub with German butcher music that lasts until 24:00. So if you're not into that, stay away
