The campsite is in a wooded area, so even in summer there is always some shade and it doesn't get too hot. The sanitary facilities were very modern and clean. Quiet campsite due to mainly permanent amps
Negatiiviset
Few pitches for non-permanent campers and these pitches are only at the edge of the site.
Beautiful campsite in the forest and right on the beach
The campsite is beautifully situated in a wooded area. Directly opposite is an ice cream parlor, a bakery and a few restaurants as well as a small shop. A few steps further on you are right on the beach with beach chairs.
The site is clean and tidy. The sanitary facilities are modern and clean.
At low... tide, the beach is particularly suitable for children. If there is wind and water, you can watch the kite surfers.
Right next to the campsite is the outdoor forest pool on one side and a large playground and climbing wall on the other.

The place offers nothing and is very expensive. Never ever more!!! It's just run by the city. So disgruntled employees, no catering on the square, there isn't even a kiosk. But since the administration is only open 5 hours a day anyway, that would be pointless anyway.
Completely exaggerated prices in Cuxhaven
I was even a permanent camper here years ago. Now I've come back for 2 nights as a transit camper... That was definitely my last stay here. It's expensive at 36 euros! And still offers nothing, so no catering or at least a kiosk on the site and all around the stores fold up the sidewalks at 6 a.m. because... of wealth... The wifi they advertise is also absolute garbage... And when you're woken up at 7 a.m. by roaring workmen who have been ordered by the administration and let in with rattling ladders, you've really lost all understanding. This place should simply be flattened and the people who run it for the greedy city of Cuxhaven with their fees should be disposed of as quickly as possible.

FROM THE OVERALL PICTURE.THE CITY IS THE OWNER OF THE CAMPSITE AND DOES NOT MANAGE TO LET A SWEEPER DRIVE OVER THE MAIN PATH ONCE A WEEK.TIME FOR THAT WOULD BE 10 MINUTES.BUT YOU ARE IN NATURE AND THEN THAT'S THE WAY IT IS.

dirty, unkempt sanitary buildings, poorly lit paths, poorly cleaned paths, generally unkempt
Rotten place - great location
Maybe it was because we were there in October. But I haven't seen such an unkempt place for a long time. The paths were all completely full of leaves and pine needles, the toilets were filthy and unkempt. The highlight: press a shower token 5 times for 20 seconds, then the showers were empty. The sanitary... buildings were in a pitiful state inside and out, with chipped tiles everywhere and moldy walls. The poor cleaning lady who has to clean there. The poor guests who had to wash themselves. It all gave the impression that the groundskeeper really didn't want to do his job. All without love. It would have taken very little effort to make the guests feel comfortable again. However, the location is great. You only have to walk a few meters and you're right on the beach.... It doesn't get any better than this

Dirty sanitary facilities
Quiet place in the forest by the sea
Quiet, ageing, inexpensive pitch in the forest right by the sea. The site, which is mainly occupied by permanent campers, is a good starting point for excursions to the sea and the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the very old sanitary facilities are not cleaned regularly. Showers can only be used with tokens. The big advantage is that dogs are not allowed and therefore not every corner is contaminated with urine and excrement.

Pensioners on bicycles do what they want
Here since birth
I've been to various campsites and have to say that this one is the all-rounder. Everything you need is within walking distance or can be reached by any means of transport. There are several small sandpits on the campsite itself, as well as a playground under the zip wires of the adjacent climbing park... - with a view of the sea. The sea itself is 150 meters from the campsite and offers a dog beach and a dog-free beach. Hikers and (mountain) bikers have the option of going further into the forest and (depending on their choice) exploring wide, stable paths or narrow, challenging and fun trails. There is a crater in the forest caused by the washout of military rockets, which BMXers, mountain bikers and motocrossers have turned into their own skate park. The sanitary facilities may not be up to date, but they are cleaned daily and kept clean.

Everything you need is within walking distance. Including a wonderful sunset. No baiting and barking - dog-free!
Negatiiviset
Unfortunately, the extremely friendly staff have no influence on the weather!
NOT FOR THE GEISSENS!
This place is a dream for stressed-out people, nature lovers, pollen sufferers (practically no pollen pollution in westerly winds), oxygen and peace seekers with a down-to-earth attitude without any pretensions to Schiggi-Miggi luxury. Everything that has been said about the sanitary facilities is true, but it is absolutely bearable. I hope that your home is as clean as this!

Not much to complain about. Thank God few mosquitoes this year. The weather was cold and the trees protected us from the wind. Not bad either. Too bad a lot of dog excrement on the non-dog beach

This is how you can go camping, the hustle and bustle can be found in Dunen and Döse
An inviting site in a sheltered forest. The vacation pitches without unsightly fencing. Here you are surrounded by nature. Especially the friendly and helpful staff should not be forgotten.

Great natural campsite right by the sea
Great nature campsite where dogs are not allowed. We always enjoy coming here with our daughter (8), even if it's only for a long weekend. Lots of leisure activities in the immediate and immediate vicinity. Bakers and restaurants are right in front of the campsite.

great location, only 3 minutes to the sea no parceling out of the tourist pitches
Negatiiviset
No bread roll service Showers cost extra
Really great in the fall
We were in Wernerwald in the fall and there was very little going on, most of the permanent campers were not there. There are only a few tourist pitches, but without parcelling and directly at the exit to the playground and access to the sea. The sea is only a 3-minute walk away. Sanitary facilities... are okay and clean, unfortunately showers cost extra. Unfortunately there is no bread roll service, but there is a bakery right next to the registration desk. We were very satisfied because it was very quiet in the fall, in summer it is certainly the exact opposite...

well
Beautiful location in a natural setting, where does the forest almost reach the sea? The disadvantage is that the sanitary facilities feel 30 years old. 70 cents for a three-minute shower is also steep.......

Beautiful day campsites

Opening hours
Very nice location directly on the North Sea
The CP is obviously in municipal hands. The opening hours depend on the working hours of the public service. During the week, the reception closes at 16:00 or 17:00, depending on the time of year. Even earlier at the weekend. After this time, you can no longer enter the campsite unless you happen to... catch a permanent camper who is kind enough to open the barrier with a card. At first glance, the campsite makes a somewhat gloomy impression. The campsite, which is very popular with permanent campers, is actually located in a beautiful forest. However, this also makes the site a little dark. However, the day camper pitches are very nice, at the back of the campsite with direct access to a great public playground and direct access to the sea. As is usual on the North Sea coast, the sea itself is rarely there. When it is there, surfers and kiters dominate the scene, which is extremely interesting and nice to watch. We can definitely recommend the campsite for a short stay in Cuxhaven and the surrounding area, although it is not one of our favorites overall.

Beautifully situated campsite, directly behind the dyke in the Wernerwald forest. Sanitary facilities may be older, but they are always totally clean and perfectly OK. Great playground for small children. For older kids there are opportunities for (kite) surfing and horse riding nearby. Swimming in the... forest pool is possible all day regardless of the tides :) In summer, shopping facilities are within walking distance, otherwise you can reach them by bike. A great place for anyone looking for peace and active relaxation.

A wonderful place in the middle of the forest and yet only 200m to the beach, unfortunately the sanitary facilities are from the 70s and no longer standard. The staff are friendly and nice. Ideal for families with small children and senior citizens.

Nice place in the middle of the forest directly on the beach, yet so central that a kiosk or similar is not necessary on the site, sanitary facilities old but clean, only partly a bit far away, large changing area in front of the showers, which fortunately may only be entered with bathing shoes, reception... very friendly and helpful, but only staffed by the hour, barbecues are understandably only allowed in designated areas, ie.Unfortunately, this place is out of the question for us in summer, but as it is perfect for excursions in the surrounding area and we felt very comfortable, we will definitely come back in spring or fall
