"Top location - We also visited the castle on the other side of the Loire. It's easy to reach on foot by bike.

"France 2019 - Stop in Gien: great place with large pitches. Pool available, view of the town, next to the cp there is an organic supermarket where you can order bread or shop at a bakery about 300 m away. Sanitary simple but ok.

"Beautiful place, top location - We have stayed there several times, the main reason being the great location on the Loire and the magnificent view of the town of Gien. The friendliness of the staff and the people in general should be emphasized. The place is ok, although there should be more than two toilets in the NS.

"Beautiful view - A larger site with an estimated 150 to 200 pitches on the banks of the Loire, opposite the town of Gien. Friendly reception in English and a member of staff would also have been available for German. There is a free choice of pitches and lots of trees provide plenty of shade. The ground consists of grass, which now, at the end of the season, looks very worn. From the front rows you have a beautiful view of the town of Gien, which can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. The front row is reserved for tent guests. We paid €23 for a motorhome with 2 adults and electricity in mid-August. Wifi costs €7 per day. The sanitary facilities are unisex, showers are free and there is even paper in the toilets, but no glasses. When it got dark, hordes of small flies swarmed over us and forced us to retreat into the motorhome. 50m from the campsite there is a nice little supermarket with mainly regional products. Baguettes for breakfast should be ordered there in advance. We wavered between 3 and 4 stars for the overall rating. The feel-good factor was ultimately the deciding factor.

"Place on the Loire - Place is located directly on the Loire with a view of Gien; the town gives little; Places hardly parceled out, partly large meadows, everyone places as he likes; works great; Sanitary as almost everywhere: mediocre; WLAN for a fee OK; Road from the opposite bank partly noisy; Cycle paths not so good; Shopping in Gien (10 minutes walk)

Cycling along the Loire à Vélo Bring your bike and explore the region via the Loire à Vélo! This 900-kilometre cycling route stretches from Cuffy (near Nevers) to Saint-Brevin-les-Pins on the Atlantic coast – and it passes right by the campsite. From Gien, take the D940 towards Poilly-lez-Gien. Turn onto Rue des Iris – the campsite is at number 1, right by the Loire river. Just follow the signs for “Camping Gien” – it’s easy to find.
