"Natural place recommended with some reservations - The site, which is not located in Smedlnik, but in Dragočajna directly on the Sava, has the only access point to the river for miles around, a very nice swimming area where you can also use your kayak. The non-parceled pitches are located on three grassy levels, which are largely shaded by deciduous and coniferous trees. The sanitary facilities are clean, but too few for the size of the pitch. For the power supply (25, 16, 6 A) you should have enough cable with you, depending on the pitch. The campsite restaurant offers very good home cooking, but the service is unfortunately disinterested and mediocre. For what is on offer, over €40 per night (WW/2 p./electricity) is simply too much. The nearest shop is a small supermarket in the neighboring village of Valburga. The campsite is a perfect starting point for cycling tours, e.g. to Ljubljana or Kranj.

"We felt at home - We were there in mid-June 2023. We liked it so much that we stayed 5 nights. It would also have been interesting to extend our stay. However, we wanted to visit other places on our 14-day trip through Slovenia. Yes, the sanitary facilities are really limited in number and could be maintained more regularly. However, the number of other guests during our stay was very manageable, i.e. there were around 5 other campers every night and they were usually just passing through and stayed for one night. In the high season this can probably become a "problem". There is a small room at the side of the sanitary building for washing up with hot water. There is also a washing machine on site. For 5 EUR per machine you can choose the program yourself, you have to bring your own detergent. We only felt disturbed by the evening music in the area - but it was the weekend and that can be the case anywhere. The staff were very helpful, we received a tip when looking for a bike repair shop, which was extremely helpful (an immediate and inexpensive repair). There are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity, i.e. 2-3km away, including a supermarket, which offer good value for money. The campsite itself is cheap by current Slovenian standards. According to our research, 12 EUR/night for one person is in the lower price segment. The site has plenty of trees and is huge, and you are allowed to choose your own pitch and set up your own furniture, so you can choose the distance from the other campers. We cycled from the campsite to the center of Ljubljana on the cycle path, and there are a number of signposted routes on quiet side roads in the surrounding area. The sunbathing lawn on the banks of the Sava has been renovated, with fresh grass and invites you to linger. We will be back! Christian and Maria

"Beautifully situated, CP with potential, BUT...!!!! - We used the campsite as a stopover after Croatia. Easy to reach from the highway and yet far enough away to be quiet and secluded. The site is beautifully situated between the Alps and Ljubljana (a great city worth recommending). There is a beautiful castle ruin to explore nearby. On arrival we were a little surprised at the price of over €50/night (3 adults, infant, caravan incl. electricity and tourist tax). We were particularly shocked when we saw the sanitary facilities. The site itself is laid out on three levels in the forest with mature trees. The pitches are level and covered with grass. Terraces have been laid out by the river and access to the bathing area is great. There is also a naturist area in the lower area. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities can only be described as terrible. Completely outdated, partially damaged and, above all, filthy. We've been to small campsites before and have seen a lot, but this was really borderline. Apparently it was only cleaned very rarely, if at all, and not really thoroughly. For the price, you would expect something else. Urgent improvements should be made here, as the place actually has potential. There are no shopping facilities on site. We didn't try the adjoining restaurant. But it was actually always well attended. Unfortunately, the exhaust air from the kitchen was blown in the direction of the campsite, so that the nearby pitches in particular got their "fat". Conclusion: The site is beautifully situated, but due to the unacceptable sanitary facilities, we would definitely not recommend the campsite to anyone and would not return. What a shame really... 0 points for the sanitary facilities, 2 for the location.

"Overnight accommodation with too few and outdated sanitary facilities - About 2/3 of the users are only there for one night, i.e. search traffic of motorhomes on the site until 11:30 p.m. and others start packing at 6 a.m. - we experienced this almost daily during our 6-day stay. There are only 3 toilet cubicles for men and 5 for women for the 100 pitches (minus the small naturist section). There was no hot water for washing up. - The bathing area by the river is very romantic, the restaurant offers delicious food.

"Super small campsite - Very nice small campsite just outside Ljubiliana. Perfect for exploring this beautiful town. We were passing through on our way to Croatia and can only praise this campsite. Very quiet location. You can choose your own pitch.

"For sleeping - Simple camp site with little charm. Some permanent campers on the site with rather run-down equipment. Overcrowded containers, outdoor washing-up facilities without really hot water, showers and toilets - outdated and well. We have found much nicer places for the price.

There is a camping site Smlednik on the left bank of Sava river by Zbiljsko jezero (the Lake of Zbilje) only twenty kilometres from capital of Slovenia (Ljubljana), ten kilometres from historic towns Kranj and Škofja Loka. It extends on …about four hectars of green land and can accept four hundred guests. It has been here for more than fifty years. Its surroundings – forest and grass – offers a relaxation and peace to the guests.
