"Very pleasant place - Large pitches, with plenty of shade in summer. Clean and well-kept sanitary facilities. Electricity at every pitch. Ideal place for a visit to Besancon by bike or for an overnight stay when passing through. A simple Italian and a French restaurant about 300m away on foot.

"Nothing recommendable nightly robberies 7 Germans in one night! - We chose the site as an overnight stopover for our onward journey to the south. That night, caravans and motorhomes were broken into while we were sleeping and the owners were robbed. Mainly cash, watches, cell phones, credit cards. From the signs of burglary left behind, they were clearly professionals. No one noticed anything. Only in the morning at 6 o'clock did the first person realize that there had been uninvited guests during the night. The campsite operator didn't care at all. This happens once a year. The police were also very disinterested and only took up the reports as standard. We cannot recommend this campsite due to the incident and the lack of support from the campsite operator. The sanitary facilities are also in need of renovation. Cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired.

"Theft/burglary warning - First night burglary in 4 mobile homes and 1 tent. Loot without exception cash (in our case approx. 700.00 €). No warning from the operator although it has happened before.

"Somewhat expensive campsite near Besancon - This campsite is the only one near Besancon. Although it is located directly on the Doubs and right on the Eurovelo 6 cycle route, it is unfortunately still 10km from Besancon. The staff are super friendly and our pitch was right by the river. The pitches were not too crowded. The sanitary facilities were good. For cyclists who want to see the town the next day, here's a tip: the tourist information office stored our luggage with them. So we could stroll through the town with a clear conscience ;)

"Typical city campsite - Well-kept, beautiful complex directly on the Doubs; good wifi everywhere; very noisy due to the main road next door but: the city can be reached by streetcar or on a charming cycle path (on the Doubs). Shopping facilities 100 meters away (tip: the bakery in the industrial area: high-quality baked goods!); perfectly ok for 1-2 nights; nice staff

"Space okay, sanitary facilities take some getting used to - Place was fine, staff very nice, good as a stopover. We were passing through from Spain to France. You can eat pizza very well in the restaurant opposite. Highly recommended, super nice staff. Swimming pool right next door, but was closed for us

Camping de Besançon - Chalezeule: Relax by the River In Besançon, you’ll find Camping de Besançon - Chalezeule. This campsite with a swimming pool is located right on the banks of the Doubs River and is perfect if you’re looking …for peace and relaxation. Around the large grassy area by the pool, you can play different sports or enjoy some games. A tram stops nearby and takes you straight into the city center. And if you’re up for a little adventure: in just one hour, you can reach Switzerland. Blue, Green, and Pure Nature The campsite is tucked away a little behind the trees, but it’s easy to find. You’ll recognize it by the unique reception building – a blue structure raised on stilts. Once you drive onto the site, you’ll immediately notice all the lush greenery. The pitches are set among the trees on large grassy fields. You’ll also find bungalows and rental tents here. Especially nice: there are pitches right by the river where you can set up your tent. Swimming, Playing, and Relaxing Camping de Besançon - Chalezeule is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy some quiet time. There’s no entertainment program, but children can have fun on the playground, at the swimming pool, or on the sports fields. The swimming pool is located in the center of the campsite. You can jump into the cool water from the diving boards, swim as many laps as you like, or simply relax on the large lawn surrounding the pool. There’s also plenty of space to play table tennis, volleyball, or other games, or just to soak up the sun. Right next to the lawn, you’ll find the Doubs River – perfect for a quick refresh or just to enjoy the scenery.

Take exit 4 (Besançon Saint-Claude) from the A36 motorway and follow RD 683 towards Belfort/Montbéliard. Pass the Carrefour hypermarket after about 300 meters. The campsite is just ahead on the right, directly by the Doubs River.
