"A place with a special charm - We booked online beforehand, so we were able to go straight through the barrier with the code. Everything went automatically, electricity was activated, even showering was possible with the code. On the day of departure, we simply went through the barrier with the code and an hour later we received an email with the bill for the electricity and showers. Booking is definitely the order of the day, the pitch was fully booked (not an art, there are very few pitches available). The location is ideal if you want to visit the city. Otherwise, you can go for a good walk all around, and dogs can even run free outside the site. Everything is clean and has its own charm. The kitchen and sink are like in a show kitchen on TV. super clean and stylish. Next to it is a dining area. All with a special charm because it was built into the weirs. The only negative point my wife had to criticize was that the shower water was too cold for her. It was quiet here, but judging by reports from other sources, there must always be a party here at the weekend. Otherwise: Top, you have to try it.

"The somewhat different campsite, ideal for a city tour - Camping Charlottenlund Fort was the ideal starting point for our visit to Copenhagen. The site is about 7 km from the city center, which is easy to reach by public transport. The Constantia bus stop (Strandvejen) is in the immediate vicinity. The site is uniquely embedded in the fortifications built in 1889. It is also unusual that the sanitary facilities, kitchen and recreation room are housed in the old bunkers. There is no children's playground, although our children (aged 9 and 12) found the entire weir system interesting. There is a guarded beach right next door. The sanitary facilities are functional, but unfortunately not always clean and there was a strong smell of urine in the men's rooms, probably due to the waterless urinals and poor ventilation. Conclusion: Original location in the fort and a good starting point for a city tour

"We will be back - A small uhriger campsite, we liked it. The staff were very friendly, we could even take our trailer onto the pitch at no extra cost. Waterless urinals smell everywhere, including here. Disposal was no problem with our Womo, not optimal, but you can hit the disposal hole.

"People steal here and neither the landlady nor the police are interested - We stayed here for 8 nights with a house tent and were robbed twice at night while we were sleeping. Some other guests were also robbed and some had their tents cut up. The police were informed but never came. The campsite management made the excuse that the site was freely accessible.

"BEWARE! - I booked a place on 14/02/2019 at this campsite as a stop on a tour of Scandinavia for my wife and myself with our caravan. On 19/04/2019 during an emergency visit to our Hospital I was diagnosed with Cancer. I wrote to the campsite explaining the situation and asking if it would be possible to have a refund as the Oncologist wanted to start my treatment straight away. The campsite replied that due to there Rules NO refund would be forthcoming.

"Typical city campsite - A simple city campsite with advantages and disadvantages. Copenhagen is very easy to explore by bike from here. There is a small beach in the immediate vicinity of the site. The sanitary facilities are very basic. The lack of cleanliness is mostly due to the guests. The waterless urinals are very smelly (saving money at the wrong end). The lounge is unfortunately not separated from the many cooking areas. In the evening, the toilet smells from one side and the mixed cooking smells from the other. WLAN is free, but not usable in the back half of the campsite. Bread roll service at reception is ok. Nice inexpensive restaurant in the marina a little north of the campsite. Otherwise there are no other facilities nearby. The ladies at the reception/cafe are very nice and helpful. However, you should be able to speak English.

WELCOME TO CHARLOTTENLUND FORT CAMPING Great to have you here! Our cozy campsite is located just 7 km north of Copenhagen – right by the Øresund and surrounded by forest and beach. The special location next to the historic fort …and the short distance to the city center make this place truly unique. We’re looking forward to welcoming you for a relaxing stay in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Stay in the exciting surroundings close to Copenhagen, forest and beach. Charlottenlund Fort Camping is located 7 km north of Copenhagen, directly adjacent to lovely Oresund with a splendid beach. Its proximity to the forest, beach, downtown Copenhagen and North Zealand's Rivera makes the campsite an attractive place for a wonderful holiday. The campsite is cozy and intimate with only 65 pitches, and the huge popularity entails in a huge demand for the pitches. There are plenty of opportunities for both relaxation and activities as the local are offers several exciting excursions. A direct bus line and good conditions for cyclists will take you only 25 minutes to the heart of Copenhagen with the capital's many attractions. The campsite is unique in that it is housed in the old disused fortifications Charlottenlund Fort. Kitchen and bathrooms are located in the old casemates. The fort was built in the years 1886-1887 and was included as a defense of Copenhagen Port until 1932. The fort can still containes the 12 haubits cannons, which were installed around the 1910. The area is now protected, and the ramparts around the fort forms the outer boundary of the campsite.

Getting to Charlottenlund Fort Camping is easy by car or public transport. From Copenhagen, head north along the coastal road Strandvejen. The campsite is located at number 144 B on your left, right by the sea and the historic fort. If …
