A spacious, very well-maintained campground; all sites have water, electricity, and gray water hookups, as well as grassy areas. Easy access to bike and hiking trails, no matter which direction you want to cycle along the Elbe.
Negatiivsed
It's not really a drawback, but the way the chemical toilet is emptied might not be quite up to date anymore. Of course, it doesn't always have to be a camping cleaner, but a little more convenience would certainly be nice.
completely undervalued
We really enjoyed our stay here—this is actually our second time here. The town of Lutherstadt Wittenberg alone is worth a visit. The campground has everything you need, and of course, the location right behind the dike across from Lutherstadt Wittenberg is unbeatable. I think this campground really... deserves a better rating on the Camping Info app, but that actually has its advantages—maybe fewer people come here, so you can continue to enjoy the spaciousness of this place.
Thanks also to the front desk staff, who check in with campers once a day to see if everything is OK.

Unfortunately, it's way overpriced—what a shame!
It could be so nice here, but unfortunately the campground is being neglected.
The price-to-value ratio suggests that the campground is only being run as a formality.
In my opinion, 27.50 euros for one person with a small tent and a bicycle is extortionate.

Incomprehensible price! Absolutely exaggerated to call this price. No gastronomy, no bread service, no drinks nothing. No public transportation nothing ... hardly any guests. But it seemed to us as if no guests were wanted. Ec payment not possible. From 18 o'clock no coming in and out possible. Just hope that you don't have to leave urgently at night.
Great place - unfortunately with restrictions
I hope the owner reads this. Sometimes less money is more. Such a great place should be managed with love. The hotel also looks very neglected. What a pity .

Unfriendliest reception ever
Do not go there!
We arrived at 6.20 pm in front of a closed iron gate, reception manned until 6 pm. We called the telephone number on the gate and heard an extremely annoyed female voice.
We hadn't made a reservation and politely asked if we could stay.
What followed was something we had never experienced in 50 years... of camping. The iron gate was opened. An old woman was completely out of line and then told us the price per night was well over €50 for a camper van with a car trailer and 2 people, without a dog. Of course, we then left again. We would never ever give this a more positive rating.
Apart from that, it should be considered whether the closed iron gate, which cannot be opened from the inside by a camper who may be in distress, is even permitted by the police. One point I am wondering about is whether this should not be reported in a suitable place. What happens if an emergency occurs at night during the closure?
But that's just an aside. Dear camper friends, avoid this pitch. That is our clear recommendation.

Large squares. About 3 km to the center of Wittenberg.

Felt like prison - locked in - almost no possibility to get a car out of the site. Only at certain times. No possibility to buy bread or drinks. Poor lighting in toilets, showers and where you wash dishes. . Yacht harbor is almost non-existent. Paid for 3 days did not have the last 20 euros. There were no problems - we could pay before we left. We left after 2 days. Got no money back - nor 'tourist tax' of 2 euros per person per day, as well as extra payment for 'müll' . It was claimed that we got a 10 euro discount for 3. Day and that we needed to pay 20 euros for 3. Day. So if we left after 2 days, we were free to pay the last 20 euros. ..... I wonder if the tourist tax goes to the city or your own pocket.... We will never come back (unless there are new owners who will use the income to upgrade the place so you can drive out whenever you want during the day) You can also turn on lights in the bathroom and toilet and showers....

Great potential, but it seems like the owners don't want you to come back. No service, locked up like in a 'prison' or an 'asylum' No possibility to buy drinks or any food/snacks. The gate is locked, so you can't get in or out by car when you want.

The unfriendliness of the lady at reception! She is more like the Cerberus from Greek mythology. Without a reservation you are coldly turned away even though the room is only a third full. Urgent need for change!

If you like being a guest of an unfriendly and unmotivated couple, you certainly won't mind the totally exorbitant price of €40/night (two adults, one dog). For a single overnight stay, the price increases by a further €10. It was not possible to book without electricity. We were charged €5/day for the... dog, but this was not offset by any services (e.g. dog waste bags). We felt it was simply cheeky how subterranean the price/performance ratio of this place is.

You can only arrive after prior reservation, which must be made in writing in advance by e-mail. The unfriendly and snippy manner of the operator on the phone does not necessarily invite excessive anticipation.

As the gates were closed after our arrival, we only had the option of exploring the area on foot or by bike. However, a key was required to get in and out of the campsite, for which a deposit of €10 had to be paid in cash. The reception was only manned sporadically, if at all, so an unscheduled departure would not have been possible. You felt barracked or locked up.

The wash house could only be used to a limited extent, only two toilets and two showers were open in the ladies' area. There was no light, which made a wet shave in the twilight a unique adventure. Hot water was more of a statement of intent, as was the (non-existent) bread roll service. We found the traffic on the Elbe bridge, especially the rail traffic, very annoying.

All in all, this place is trying to generate maximum revenue without anything in return. However, friendliness and customer service appear to be too costly. The transformation from socialism to capitalism is definitely not yet complete in this case.

Vacationers with motorhomes without bicycles are locked up in the evening
- on arrival notification that the toilets are closed from 9 pm, after protests from holidaymakers they remained open, but without lighting in the anteroom, so that washing hands could only be done with a flashlight and that in Corona times
- Generally only 2 toilets open, giving the impression that they wanted to save on cleaning
- Showers and washing facilities completely closed from 9 pm
- Separate washbasins locked, only 2 public washbasins accessible, incomprehensible in Corona times
- Space barely lit
- Registration mostly unmanned
- Hotel seems deserted
- Cyclists' accommodation completely rotten
- No staff to be seen anywhere on the pitch
- you feel unwelcome
- if you stay near the registration in the evening to be in the WLAN, you are unfriendly observed or grumbled at by an older gentleman
- Ideal location on the Elbe opposite Wittenberg, but the site is not recommended

Summary
When we registered, we had the feeling that we had arrived very unread. The pitches are not lit, so we went to the wash house in the evening with a flashlight. From the outside, a thorough cleaning of cobwebs on the gable and windows would be necessary. Big drawback, no automatic barrier to get onto the pitch. Only light bread rolls available for breakfast.

Even at the reception you get the feeling of being a petitioner at an office, not a guest at a campsite. The tone of the staff on the pitch is also unfriendly. As an ADAC-Card camper, you not only feel excluded by the pitch behind a high wall, you also have to pay extra to dispose of the chemical toilet. A small trailer, which is usually provided free of charge on a pitch, had to be paid for separately.

Great camping on the Elbe
We stayed here for three days. Couple, over 60, WW, September Reception: Friendly and clear. Problem before: The landline number was not available. But it worked immediately via cell phone. Pitch: The site had enough free pitches. Sanitary: Spacious, very clean. Excellent. The facilities are top. Quiet:... You have peace and quiet if the wind direction is right. Two nights were quite noisy due to the noise from the main road/railway line. Nice: Breakfast/dinner on the Elbe embankment. Great: Well demarcated, locked in the evening, you get a key for a €10 deposit. Highly recommended for exploring Wittenberg. Bread roll service was offered.

A generally quiet, almost flat site directly opposite Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Because of the Elbe and a bypass road, the walk to the old town is unfortunately a little awkward and not recommended. We cannot confirm the points of criticism mentioned in previous reviews (unpleasant odors in the sanitary... facilities, unfriendliness of the staff ...). Only the ICE and freight train line can actually be heard. But who sleeps without earplugs when camping ;-)

We chose this site on our trip through Germany based on the DCC camping guide rating. In the evening, the sanitary facilities were locked at around 9pm. There was a notice on the door stating that the facilities were closed due to a breakdown. My wife was denied access to the adjoining hotel and told... that she should go out into nature. However, it was not apparent that anything was being done to put an end to this unacceptable situation. The next day, the sanitary facilities were unlocked without water being available again. It was reminiscent of the old GDR times: if something was out then it was force majeure - which was also the answer to my question on my subsequent departure: "would they be willing to meet me with the price". We were given a €2.50 discount (W-Lan). We found this behavior more than outrageous. Especially as this place is quite expensive.

Everything is great
We received a very friendly welcome. Well organized. Sanitary facilities clean and showers pleasantly large. The doors have to be closed for the ventilation to work! We did not notice any unpleasant odors.

You are constantly monitored. The staff are absolutely unfriendly! A bit "off the beaten track".
The old spirit of the surveillance state has survived here
The socialist spirit of the surveillance state still prevails here. After the first half hour at the station, I wanted to leave again. I was checked three times by the operator: was my license plate genuine? Did I really want to go on vacation or just park the camper van (it's actually very old) here?... I had the impression that they weren't welcoming guests here, but rather carrying out annoying administrative tasks! On the other hand, the site is kept clean and tidy. From 10 p.m. there is only poor emergency lighting in the sanitary facilities. Washing hands after using the toilet is not possible because this room is unlit. On the other hand: you can actually choose your own pitch! The showers are spotlessly clean and cost nothing extra. Bread rolls are delivered directly to your car in the morning if you order them in advance - but only if you manage to be back before 10 pm. Otherwise you have to park outside. Unfortunately, there is no other supply of food or drinks (except for a few drinks at reception, but only until 6pm!). The city center with shopping facilities is relatively far away.

The CP has somehow managed to retain its charm as a military facility, including the staff. The way to Wittenberg is good, it leads over the Elbe, the freight trains are unbearably loud, especially at night despite a modern bridge.

Quiet place
The site is a little out of the way but easy to reach. The reception is friendly. It was very clean and well maintained on the pitch and in the sanitary facilities. What was a bit annoying was that the restaurant is closed this season. Considering the distance to the nearest restaurant (2.5 km), it was a bit of a hassle.
