Castrum Camping Hévíz Ülevaated

Positiivsed
Quiet location in Hévíz; the campground wasn't fully booked even though it was peak season. Swimming in the outlet channel was great, and there were bike paths to Lake Balaton, a bakery, and a good restaurant on the campground.
Negatiivsed
Actually, everything was great
quiet campground
Previous reviews mentioned beetle infestations, but we didn't notice any. One of the bathhouses is a bit older but in good condition and always clean; the one by the driveway has been modernized. There's also a refrigerator, microwave, two stovetops, a washing machine, and a clothes rack for general use.

Beautiful place on a large thermal lake
Park-like, quiet grounds with plenty of shade under old, tall trees, within walking distance of the town and the large thermal lake (entrance fee). Divided by the overflow channel of the lake. Quite large plots, natural, somewhat muddy when it rains a lot. One of the two wash houses has been renovated,... the showers now have clothes partitions. Overall cleanliness and maintenance of the site still quite good. The crowd was dominated by older spa guests. Good restaurant on site, Spar, DM and weekly market in the village, supermarkets 8 km away. Lake Balaton can be reached directly from the campsite on cycle paths, partly through the forest, partly through the town. In general, the number of cycle paths is limited and most of them lead along roads.
A highlight of the site is the narrow overflow channel: You can swim in the warm water at any time outside the CP free of charge. If you stand in the water, "cleaner fish" nibble on your legs. The pitch is a bit expensive. In mid-September we had a lot of leaf bugs, which also liked to get into the caravan.

Friendly staff Wash house was always clean
Negatiivsed
Very high electricity prices, stink bug plague
Nice place with high prices for electricity
Very nice, well-kept place, near Termalsee.
Sanitary facilities are clean but the beetle plague has become severe.
Thousands of stink bugs that sit everywhere and crawl in through the chimney
every opening they manage to get in.
Camping vehicles were black with bugs

Thermal spa 150m across the street, very big camping piace. People here are very nice just don't speak english. Very good shower rooms, warm floors!
Negatiivsed
Electricity connection bad due to only 6ampers-too small for a campervan.
Very nice
We arrived at late evening, 22.00 is the latest allowed arrival time. We called the contact number shown, the lady was very helpful. Price and quality very good. We recommend.

Walking to the thermal lake in a bathrobe, great!

No shopping facilities on site
Beautiful campsite with almost its own spa!
We were very surprised by what we found here! The campsite is located in the middle of a green oasis with its own thermal river and not far from the thermal lake (300 m). Large pitches on grass, fenced off with well-kept hedges and all connected to electricity and fresh water! The sanitary facilities were very clean and in good condition! This campsite is highly recommended! Beautiful cycle and pedestrian path (approx. 1 km) leads to the center.

Wonderful campsite
We spent 5 days here at the campsite and are absolutely thrilled!!! Everything is to our complete satisfaction and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The nearby thermal bath river (approx. 35*) is brilliant and free of charge. The thermal baths are nearby and can be easily reached on foot. The beautiful nature and surroundings are ideal for hiking and cycling.

Positiivsed
Quiet, close to the thermal baths, everything you need is on site.
Negatiivsed
Lots of mosquitoes, don't forget mosquito repellent
Very quiet place, right next to the thermal baths
For those who like peace and quiet, many senior citizens can be found here. There are not enough cycle paths, cycling on the road is not necessarily recommended.

Close to the lake, quiet, dignified, shady place with tranquil river
Negatiivsed
Expensive (thermal tariff), small plots
Camping ground at the thermal lake Héviz
A very nice, quiet and large place on both banks of the outflow of the thermal lake. It takes 3 minutes to get to the lake and 6 minutes to walk to the city center, which are the biggest advantages. The sanitary facilities are a bit old, but clean. German is spoken, mostly senior citizens. Wifi is very... good, there are free e-bikes to rent at the thermal lake. Unfortunately quite expensive by Hungarian standards, we paid 27 euros in the low season, all inclusive. If you compare this with the Rosengarten or Panorama CP in Héviz, we are paying twice as much. The pitches are relatively small, but the site is well guarded. The Héviz seaside resort now charges 10 euros for 3 hours.

Close to the thermal lake and the center of Heviz Super Wifi
Negatiivsed
Everything is just a bit dilapidated. Restaurant with its opening hours, sanitary facilities ... Store really only offers the bare essentials.
Good campsite
There is almost nothing to complain about. The place is very nice. (We were here twelve years ago). The trees have become too overgrown in the meantime.

Ideal location to the warm thermal lake. Staff very helpful and friendly. The sanitary facilities are good, restaurants in the village are within easy reach. We recommend the restaurants on the vineyard with a beautiful view. Lake Balaton can be reached via cycle paths in about 30-40 minutes. The place is less suitable for children. Several large supermarkets (Interspar, Tesco) are in Keszthely.

Very quiet site away from the road. The outflow of the nearby thermal lake of Heviz flows through the site. The famous thermal lake is only about 300 meters from the site. The pitches are generously parceled out, the sanitary facilities are as good as new and clean. There is a small store right next to the site and a restaurant nearby. A highly recommended site.

Close to the city and the bath, clean and well-kept pitches, very quiet; more could be done for security (fences, gate lock)

Some things need to be replaced, e.g. the taps on the water columns and the drains. In the fall, the sunbathing spots are a bit scarce - make a reservation. Otherwise a nice place, unfortunately a bit expensive. A painter paints cheaply and well at the front on the road to the lake.

Nice, clean campsite, level pitches, mostly with direct water and electricity; quiet, walking distance to the thermal lake, preferably with an hourly ticket, then you can enter the baths and return to the campsite as often as you like. Nice, well-kept town with lots of shops and restaurants.
