at least €20 too expensive for €28
never again
Were there with the Womo. The reception was very messy and rather dirty. The staff were friendly. Then sent us downstairs where there were gravel places where you could stand well. Well, after 10 minutes we stood where there was the least mud and deep ruts. When I went up to ask, there was a sign with... a cell phone number. Never mind. The sanitary facilities are an impertinence for the ladies, there was a bar of soap that everyone could use for something to dry their hands. For the men there was at least a dispenser, which was already empty the second time, there was also an air dryer. There was no gray water sink. For 28€ without electricity. Never again . There are pitches here that cost €15 and are better maintained and better equipped. Better to stand somewhere in the city. There are possibilities as we have seen.

Actually nothing at all⁸
Negatiivsed
The homepage suggests a well-kept campsite, how you get 4.6 stars on Google is a mystery to me. No gray water disposal available, on request you should dispose of the water outside the campsite on a manhole cover. Unkempt and partly non-functional sanitary facilities. No clear allocation of pitch numbers.
Quite a problematic campsite
As described above, you get the feeling that this campsite is just being kept alive

I had a nice clean pitch with my camper van. Water and electricity right on the pitch! The operator/Jens is very helpful.
Negatiivsed
On the whole, everything is ok. As the terrain is extremely large, there are always construction sites, which is a challenge. But he is always on the ball.
It was very nice!
I actually only wanted one or two days, as I felt comfortable, so it was a week.

Hands off
Nothing is intact here. Playground is unusable, wash houses are unusable, paths are filthy and full of potholes, there are piles of garbage everywhere, there is no lighting, check-in was difficult - departure impossible. Office is unmanned and operator cannot be contacted. Highway parking lot is 100x nicer.

No train noise No road noise No aircraft noise Cycling opportunities Hiking trails Sufficient exercise for dogs
Negatiivsed
Defective toilets in sanitary facilities Renovation backlog Disastrous condition of the playground Lack of sense of responsibility on the part of the operator
Disastrous condition - not recommended
First impression, garbage dump, second impression overfilled garbage cans, no organization, unstructured, overwhelmed, renovation backlog everywhere.
Reception chaotic, cramped, not tidy, windows dirty.

Dog waste bag station available, bins overfilled and smelly.

The lawn should be mowed and garbage... lying around cleared away.

Playground is dangerous for children, dilapidated and dirty. Play equipment is defective, damaged and protruding nails and splinters are dangerous.
Construction site not cordoned off, machines and dangerous equipment are freely accessible to children.

The travelers do not behave appropriately, do not adhere to rest periods - noise -
They litter the site. Wagons and carpets are cleaned with high-pressure cleaners on the site on Sundays. It stinks.

Sanitary blocks are available. Cleaning only takes place during the week, defective toilets are locked at the weekend. The condition: in need of renovation.
Toilet paper is too hard and cannot be flushed away. Pipe blockages are imminent.

The paths - potholes everywhere. Electricity is flat rate, we tourists get 6A, the campers with washing machines and tumble dryers 16A !???
The machines are operated on the pitches, although there is no connection for them. Waste water with detergent residues flows into the meadow with a side stream!
Washing machines in bathhouses are permanently occupied by the campers, dryers are dirty.

The groundsman ignores information about the problems. No assertiveness available.

Catastrophic permanent pitches Old sanitary facilities are not cleaned on WE Playground in disrepair Impossible access road Much too expensive
Great address, but unfortunately not worth the trip
We really rarely have bad luck with a place. We found the address Am Froschloch 1 fun enough to spend a weekend here. The site is so beautifully situated that it makes you wonder why you don't make more of it.
Fortunately, the tourist pitches are separated from the permanent pitches. The obligatory walk... to the permanent pitches was a bit like disaster tourism, lots of garbage and very unkempt pitches wherever you look. Even a great tree population doesn't help.
We have nothing against older sanitary blocks, but if they are not cleaned at the weekend and waterless urinals are not maintained, it is very difficult to feel comfortable.
The site was far too expensive for that! What a shame ...

The site is really beautifully situated and has a lot of potential. Absolutely quiet apart from cars (hunters?) driving around at night. Lots of freedom in terms of where you pitch etc.
Negatiivsed
Quite neglected. There are a few very nicely decorated sites for tourists and permanent campers. However, quite a few are shockingly neglected.
Nice location, nice people, otherwise unfortunately a lot of things are getting old
As far as we have heard, there has probably been a new owner for a few years who wanted to redo some things.
The restaurant was probably renovated as far as we can remember (the last time we were here was 6 years ago). The rest looks like it used to, but unfortunately it's getting on in years.

Really... very spacious site with lots of room and, above all, empty pitches these days. Despite the negative points, we are still considering coming here. But the partly slum-like impression of some of the pitches and residents is rather off-putting. But maybe that will change. We'll just come back a few more times and see how we feel.
But there are also some very nice permanent campsites where we got some inspiration.

The restaurant was beautifully designed and tastes good too.

Prices are simply borderline for what is on offer. There are much better places for that.

Access restrictions
QUIET - QUIET - and more QUIET
Unfortunately, my satnav wanted to reach the site via an unauthorized access road, which was successful thanks to the friendly help of a nice person! But even the official route via the village of Laubach doesn't make you believe that there is a campsite here! The reception by a friendly woman was extremely... nice and helpful, and I thought it was the owner's wife. The site itself is huge, mostly permanent campers with some neat little houses and well-kept plots. We quickly found our non-parceled pitch and settled in. The terrain may be sloping, so make sure you have enough support material with you!
First exploration: positive! Strange: you always need a key for the sanitary building! But here, too, the first impression was positive: old, but clean and functional! All the washbasins were mounted quite low, but functional. The showers had plenty of space and a hose shower with adjustable shower head and lever mixer. And WITHOUT shower markers!!! So nothing stands in the way of showering pleasure. Well, one or two contemporaries can leave the shower hose very twisted, but that's easy to fix.
And then there's the peace and quiet, the forest all around! You can only hear the birds, a tawny owl, nature! No highway! An airplane every now and then.
Unfortunately, you can only wash up outside and the sink seems very improvised! I didn't find a sink for disposing of gray water either, but it was quite practical for chemical toilets.
What the operator should definitely do to avoid annoying guests unnecessarily: update the information on the registration door! Because you can no longer recognize the telephone number!!!!! Wanted to buy gas during the advertised opening hours, but the registration desk was locked. The bell on the door doesn't seem to work properly and I didn't see a phone number. I was correspondingly angry! But then the friendly woman, an employee, sorted it out!

I imagine service to be something else abandoned plots for weeks like a garbage dump no prompt response to emails
A different kind of service
Under the new tenant, improvements/modernizations are starting everywhere ... only the completion drags on ...
Prices significantly increased, so far not really with "added value" for the camper.
The location is very quiet and idyllic, unfortunately the peace and quiet is often disturbed - even during... the "quiet times" by construction noise, lawn mowing and other noisemakers.
Although dogs must be kept on a lead, you will often come across dogs running around freely and their tracks are hard to miss.
Depending on the pitch, it is also quite far for dog owners to leave the pitch ... you would have to carry a poop bag with you if the dog can't make it outside the pitch ...
During the rest periods, the barriers are closed, but there is virtually no possibility of parking cars outside without blocking the entrance/exit.
As you very often don't meet anyone at reception, you use the email function if you have a problem - unfortunately there is at least no prompt response

The new pitch operator is probably totally overwhelmed.
Never again...
The "operator" is hardly to be found at the reception (likes to sleep longer), the offered bread roll service is omitted, dog excrement on the tent meadow, garbage place totally overfilled (health protection ?), Friday evening lawn mowing, Saturday evening again lawn mower (with tractor) until almost... 21.00 o'clock. Rotten children's play equipment, everywhere the groundsman starts to build something and leaves everything lying around.
We were here 4 years ago and it wasn't a dream site, but it was fine for a weekend, but now the site is falling into complete disrepair.

One Man Show
We were at the course from Thursday to Monday because of a tournament and it is actually in a very nice and quiet location. The new tenant seems totally overwhelmed to me, he just can't be everywhere, but he certainly tries hard to keep such a big place running on his own. The sanitary facilities are... not only totally outdated but are "cleaned" irregularly Due to the lack of poop stations with poop bags (but they charge for dogs), I pressed the last poop bag (my own) on Monday morning on the ashtray with a small trash can standing in front of the sanitary building from the weekend (was not emptied all week) For the often open lockers, a deposit of € 50 had to be deposited for a barcode card. The grumpy female person who was occasionally to be found instead of the tenant at the reception I would like to mention only in passing. All in all, a beautiful, quiet but ancient place with a lot of potential for improvement. If everything works as well as the checkout computer (30€ caravan, 2 adults, 2 dogs) we might come back.

Nice place for children
This was our second time there, this time under new management. The site is a bit outdated but everything is clean and the people are very nice. It's really very quiet. We can't understand the comments about traffic. Children can run around and play. Great playground. Bread roll service and small store on site.

Campsite on the upswing thanks to new operator (Jan. 2019)
My 4-day stay was accompanied by genuine courtesy and helpfulness from the couple who run the place. The infrastructure is still being improved - at Easter the trampoline for the children, which was then very much in use, was still being set up. The sanitary facilities were average and clean; we all... know that we are responsible for our own waste and people complain about this. One occurrence: 1 used handkerchief cut into 7 pieces and scattered on the floor - afterwards people complain about the cleanliness and lack of cleaning.....

beautiful campsite
If you want to relax, you should definitely come here. The negative reviews are incomprehensible to us. The site is in a well-kept condition with a great variety of botanical species. The sanitary facilities are super clean and the staff and service are commendable. The highlight for our granddaughter was the children's playground with trampoline and water playground. We will be back!

Very quiet location, idyllic, beautiful village center

Outdated facilities, state of maintenance 3- (hedges etc.), hunters living on the campsite and out and about at night.
Nice quiet place, but....
Unfortunately, the site is falling into disrepair. How can a campsite so close to Frankfurt fall into such disrepair when camping is booming? The sanitary facilities are from the 70s, no restaurant at all - there must have been one, but it's now closed. There is a lot of traffic on the site and dogs... run around without a lead, so that our children once even came crying to the caravan. The site is really very quiet, in a spacious location and the operator is also friendly. But customers have been expecting much more for at least 10 years - especially for 3-4 stars.

Campsite is slowly going down the drain
We've been coming to Laubach every now and then for years, but I think we'll stop. The campsite is deteriorating more and more. Unkempt lawns (just left lying around), dogs running free everywhere, sanitary buildings from the 70s (cold heating in the mornings), path lighting hardly works, permanent campers... sometimes slum-like, scrap cars and car trailers on the pitches like in an industrial estate. Other campers reported that the park was for sale. If this is the case, we can only hope that this will happen soon - the actually beautiful site deserves it. Positive: Still a very quiet location (apart from the traffic on the site)

Peace, relaxation, friendliness
Gladly again for a weekend
We only stayed at the campsite for one night as we wanted to "get to know" our new caravan. It is a very quiet site, well suited for hiking tours and senior citizens. The staff are very friendly, even the bread rolls are brought to the caravan. As we are from the area, we like to come back for a weekend,... but for longer vacations, the place would definitely be too quiet. So if you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The sanitary facilities are not the newest, but they are clean. There is also a playground with a small water playground. Kettcars can be hired. The food in the restaurant tasted very good, we were delighted. Only the outdoor facilities could be cleaned up a bit and designed more lovingly. Whether the place deserves 4 stars is questionable, but it also depends on what you want. We give it three.
