There were still few tourists on site, so it was very quiet. The location is very good, rural but in a few minutes you are in Bad Bramstedt or for day trips you can easily reach Hamburg, Kiel, Lübeck, Bad Segeerg or Büsum. The reception was super friendly. You register about... 50m from the pitch in a farmhouse. The operator then comes to the site and the formalities are completed there. The sanitary facilities are a bit outdated, but were clean. The toilet cubicles are very small (if you sit on the bowl, your knees almost hit the cubicle door. As other commentators have already pointed out, showering is a bit steep at €1, especially as we're not talking about a new, hyper-modern facility here. The women's area was apparently just being overhauled, it was still closed and so we had a unisex washroom/toilet area. But that wasn't a problem for the transition. It was also clean, which is the most important thing, and there is decent toilet paper here (nothing like single-ply tissue paper ;-) ). The site is on a small lake and has a small sandy beach. You can probably swim here in summer. I would have said that the circular path around the lake is also very nice for dog owners, but at another access to the lake there was a sign with a dog ban from 15.4. - 15.9. At the access from the campsite there is no sign. Apart from that, I saw a playground, a football pitch and a table tennis table. The pitches are signposted and some are separated by low hedges. Larger trees stand at the edge. Electricity on site, but no separate water or waste water points on the pitches. Pitches vary in size, so there should be something for every size of camper/caravan. Free Wi-Fi worked very well for me, but as I said, there weren't that many guests. I was close to the sanitary building, so I can't judge how it is in other places and with many guests. Bread roll service is probably available in summer, but not yet at the beginning of the season. Also something for riders, according to the sign, riding opportunities are offered for all levels (from beginner to professional). To summarize: Very friendly operators, beautiful place, somewhat outdated sanitary building. We will definitely be back. Addition 2018: the sanitary facilities for the ladies have just been completely renovated, which I didn't see at first as I was here without my wife on my first visit. According to the operators, the men's area will be renovated during the next winter break. Addition 2019: I visited this pitch again and what can I say: the men's sanitary facilities have now also been renovated and are therefore top notch! It's nice to see that the operators are eliminating weak points on the course and thus further improving the course. This time I was a bit further away from the sanitary building, but the WiFi signal was also very good at this pitch. Otherwise, everything is the same, in a positive sense. The operators are still super nice and nothing has changed on the pitches either: sufficiently large, level ground and good for pitching tent pegs. Relaxing stay for the weekend or just passing through in a village setting. Easy bike tour to Bad Bramstedt possible. Not far from the highway... A7 and the federal road B4. Therefore quick connection to Hamburg, Kiel, Bad Segeberg, approx. 80 permanent campers and 30 tourist pitches. Simple but always clean sanitary facilities. Hot showers are quite expensive at 1 euro, especially if you often want to shower off after a swim in the mill pond. But we also take cold showers from time to time and think it's great there originally.
