Wi-Fi coverage isn't available everywhere. But it works great in the reception area.
A very beautiful location
We chose this campground as a stopover on our way to Puttgarden, where we’ll take the ferry to Denmark. This year, we didn’t feel like sitting in traffic between Hamburg and Puttgarden.

A wonderfully quiet setting. From the campground, you can walk right into the woods. Ideal for walking the dog.

The restrooms may not be new, but they’re very clean. And the showers have hot water and plenty of it.

There are dozens of hiking trails in the immediate area. And even a few easy 4x4 routes nearby (see Wikilocs). So it’s also suitable for mountain biking.

You can order sandwiches at the campground reception, as well as ice cream, fries, and drinks.

The view from the upper sites is very beautiful. The sites are spacious enough for a car, a trailer, and possibly a small side tent.
Most of the sites are open. There’s no 2-meter-high hedge surrounding them.
The campground has sites with plenty of sun and sites with ample shade.
There are also a few sites suitable only for tents, located halfway up the hill—sort of like terrace-style sites.

From this campground, we visited the Panzer Museum, the Bergen-Belsen Memorial (very impressive!), the Berlin Airlift Museum, and the Petroleum Museum (a real gem).

Instead of rushing straight to the Elbe Tunnel or the ferry services, spend a few days at this campground—say goodbye to the stress!—and continue your trip outside of the weekend.
It’ll save you a lot of traffic jams!

Very spacious campsites, right next to the forest, Münden within walking distance, child-friendly, dogs allowed

Waste separation is well organized, but unfortunately the general waste bin is secured with very tight springs (to keep animals out). If you send your children to take out the trash, the waste can sometimes end up in the recycling bin.
Friendly, Harmonious, Warm
There are sunny spots as well as shady or partially shaded ones, depending
on your personal preference. The restroom facilities are clean and well-maintained.
Dogs are welcome. Thanks to the partially terraced layout of the sites,
you get a sense of open space. Münden is within walking distance and... very
charming. You absolutely must visit the “Ole Müllern Schün” for afternoon coffee
. The zoo isn’t cheap, but it’s a highlight for the kids. Dogs are
allowed.

Great time!
We had a wonderful vacation at Camping Sonnenberg in Germany!

The campground isn’t too crowded; it’s spacious and beautifully laid out on different levels, with lots of trees and greenery. Everything is clean, tidy, and well-maintained. We also found the Vodatent incredibly comfortable and fully equipped....

A special shout-out to the owner, Johan, who is incredibly kind, hospitable, and great with kids. Our boys actually wanted to stop by and see Johan every day. Sometimes for an ice cream, other times for a friendly chat, and sometimes just to watch Mr. Bean together. That really says it all!

In short: a wonderful campground with a great atmosphere, comfortable accommodations, and an amazing owner. We had a fantastic vacation there and would love to come back!

The owner was approachable and friendly. There are plenty of hiking and biking trails starting from the campground. There’s a charming little village nearby. Upon arrival, we were allowed to choose our own spot. The restrooms were spotless, and there was a friendly atmosphere at the campground.

Friendly welcome Nice, spacious sites—you can choose where you want to park. Good Wi-Fi around the reception area, terrace, and common area You can also buy a drink there and order sandwiches. Biking and hiking trails start right from the campground

A really nice campground!! Beautiful, spacious campsites that you can choose yourself from the available spots. Set in a gorgeous natural setting! The helpful owner was a pleasure to deal with! Great area for biking.

Pure relaxation.
The site is not far from the village of müden. There is a bakery, supermarket, restaurants and other attractions.

A very nice campsite! Large sunny meadow, shady pitches under old trees, VERY large pitches, the bread rolls are great and crisp! - VERY commendable the friendliness and helpfulness of the friendly operator! 100 points! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A beautiful, absolutely quiet campsite. We arrived with a large tent, received a very friendly welcome, the operator recommended a few pitches, but said straight away that we could have a look at everything at our leisure and then complete the formalities. We spent a relaxed 9 days and had nothing to complain about. The price/performance ratio is completely okay, and if we are drawn to the Lüneburg Heath again, we will gladly come back. The reviewers who awarded a 1 should perhaps think about how to behave on campsites. With this in mind, best regards from 2 Berliners.
