"Registration on site via online and on site via cell phone - This was our first time at the campsite. It is quite basic, the sanitary facilities were clean, unfortunately without heating. The site no longer has a reception. Staff are being cut back here. Jobs are being lost. The rooms are empty. You can either register online at home or directly on site. There are signs in Hungarian and German. There is no longer a queue at reception, but there is now a long queue at the signs to check in. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to leave your iPad or cell phone somewhere. You definitely need a credit card, which must be used to pay for everything immediately. Everyone should know how long they want to stay. The money is probably the most important thing for the campsite owner! My husband has a disabled person's pass, which could not be registered. He is exempt from the tourist tax, which does not apply here and is not accepted. Once you have registered, you receive an email with the code to open the barrier. You also need this to drive out. You are not asked for ID, only how many people are present. Presumably this is the new way of registering at campsites. This is not a nice and well thought-out customer service!!!!! Every camper has to decide for themselves whether they want to use the site. If you are only staying in the city for 1-2 nights, you can also spend the night in the large parking lot in front of the campsite. This is free of charge. You can book the comfort pitches, although these are not visible on the site itself. Everyone can pitch wherever they want. You should have long power cables with you. There is a restaurant right on the pitch. The owner speaks very good German. We paid approx. 31 euros per night for 2 people with accommodation and tourist tax. (as of April 2026)

The camping site offers quiet and serenity right in the heart of nature, which guarantees a relaxing break, while the town centre and the thermal spa, both on our doorstep, offer a different kind of leisure. Thermal Camping Zalakaros is the ideal choice for those who enjoy thermal springs, quiet, and nature, but also want a convenient location and comfort. Zalakaros is a unique spa town. In addition to its unparalleled thermal baths, it offers a range of eco-tourism attractions, exotic wildlife, hiking trails and a wide range of leisure activities. The camping site itself allows guests to immerse themselves in nature. We have a hairdresser’s and professional massage services on site, as well as sanitary facilities, a kitchen and options to cook and clean dishes. To make pleasant summer evenings truly unforgettable, you can also build a campfire and cook your dinner under the stars. It is often difficult to organise a holiday that makes every member of the family happy, especially when you are accompanied by children. The playground located right next to the camping site has a brook running through it. It is a firm favourite with children, who love using water in their games and here, parents do not have to worry about their safety at all. Reception opening hours: every day from 7:30 to 19:30. Arrived after reception hours? No worries! If you arrive between 19:30 and 23:00, just give us a call at +36 30 721 0709 and we’ll open the gate remotely. After 23:00, no vehicles are allowed to enter. When we say that the entire family will enjoy the holiday, pets are very much included.
