"good campsite - Friendly service, annoying are mosquito-flies (I do not know what these insects are), fortunately they do not bite. There can also be unpleasant flocks of birds (especially for a car). You can be with a dog but not on the beach. Note dogs banned even in the park in the center of the town.

"Top location with stores and restaurants within walking distance - We, a senior couple, were there for two weeks in August 2017 with a WW and were satisfied. The site is on the east bank right on the water next to a large marina. The shore is shallow and therefore relatively safe even with small children. The sanitary facilities are visually and technically in good condition and are cleaned regularly. The peace and quiet is often disturbed in the early evening by children cycling. Otherwise absolutely recommendable!

"Unpleasant experiences - If you look at the campsite objectively, it's in a nice location, well situated. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing I can say. When we arrived, tired from the bike ride around Lake Balaton, we had to fill in an unreasonable amount of paperwork, which took at least half an hour. The plot, the reservation of which I had made weeks in advance, was not secured, instead we were placed next to the waste container, which unfortunately we could smell all night. The ground for camping was uneven and uncomfortable. Payment for the accommodation was slow,it took at least half an hour to sort it out. Hope these areas will be looked after better in the future.

"Beautiful campsite on a peninsula next to the harbor - We stayed at the campsite for 3 weeks in July 2015. We liked it so much that we will definitely come back in the next few years. The new operator of the CP is very friendly and helpful so that every guest can spend a nice vacation here. Since this year a kiosk has also reopened on the site. There are 2 sanitary buildings which are cleaned several times a day. If you only arrive with a tent you even have the possibility to cook something on the gas stoves in the front area of the sanitary building. The pitches are spacious and paired. Electricity is available everywhere. The janitor has always taken good care of the cleanliness around the campsite. We would also like to thank him.

"Small and cozy - I was there alone on my motorcycle. Early 7 o'clock with the coffee cup to the bathing stairs and enjoyed the peace and quiet while watching the fish:), who does not attach much importance to luxury, animation is right there. The next cafe's and restaurant are about 500m in the village to the harbor entrance. The sanitary facilities were cleaned several times a day, are in good condition and decent. I will be back.

“Sellő” campsite in Balatonboglár has been welcoming guests since 1959 and is one of the oldest and most beloved camping spots by Lake Balaton. Located on a unique peninsula next to the Dezső-Nagy-Kaáli harbor, the site’s shape resembles a mermaid …from above — the inspiration behind its name. Two-thirds of our guests return each year. The family-friendly beach features soft sand and shallow water, ideal for small children. The bay is peaceful and full of charm, while ducks, swans, and other protected species thrive in the nearby reeds. On the opposite shore, the deeper water, shaped by boat traffic, is perfect for swimming and water sports. Guests enjoy modern sanitary facilities, a fully equipped communal kitchen, showers, washing machine, fire pit, table tennis, a playground, and a recreation room with toys. A baby package is available for families. For those without gear, comfortable bungalows provide a cozy alternative. Nearby, you’ll find wine stands, restaurants, playgrounds, and family attractions. On-site, the buffet offers fresh pastries and a local produce market. In high season, food events and activities bring extra flavor to your stay. Open from spring to autumn, the “Sellő” campsite is a true haven for those who love nature and the Balaton lifestyle. Early booking is strongly recommended — many guests reserve next year’s stay before they leave.
