Absolutely not recommended
Absolutely not recommended—never again!

We simply cannot understand how this campground earned a 4-star rating. In our opinion, the sanitary conditions were simply unacceptable. In the restrooms and along the paths, we repeatedly saw feces on the floor that hadn’t been cleaned up for quite some time.... On top of that, there was dirt and trash everywhere, and the place gave off a generally unkempt impression. Especially at a campground, where hygiene should be a top priority, this is completely unacceptable. The attached photos document our impressions.

The staff also did nothing to improve our stay. We found them to be extremely unfriendly, unhelpful, and poorly trained. In our view, they did not respond appropriately to our concerns about the hygiene issues.

Unfortunately, the behavior of many other guests was also very unpleasant. Overall, we found the campground to be unkempt and many fellow campers to be inconsiderate. As a result, the atmosphere was neither pleasant nor relaxing.

For a campground that claims to be 4-star and charges the corresponding prices, this situation is completely unacceptable to us. We will definitely not be returning and, based on our experience, cannot recommend this campground to anyone.

Many offers for young and old Super clean sanitary facilities Many different beaches Large pitches

Loud and bustling GamingLounge does not check whether the children are playing age-appropriate games
Beautiful family place with rough edges
Anyone who is aware that this is a very large space will feel at home here.

After the heavy thunderstorms, the site was immediately repaired and the flooded sanitary blocks were also immediately ready for use again.

Cleanliness of the washrooms/toilets Birdsong (we were there in June 2025) Water temperature in the sea
Desventajas
Overcrowded pools, too little sunbathing area in the shade by the pools, pools are only suitable for children up to approx. 10 years) (every outdoor pool in Germany offers more space!) Sun loungers at the pool only for a fee Overpriced prices for ice cream cones at the pool (one nogger = €4.40) Overpriced prices for children's attractions (10 min. bouncy castle = €4.00/child)
Our impression of CP Lanterna at Whitsun 2025:
The campsite belongs to the Valamar chain. For information on pitch prices/rental tents/mobile homes, check the Valamar website or third-party providers such as Luxcamp/Easytent/Roan/Gebethsroither, to name but a few. Most of the pitches are shaded by pine trees (watch out for resin stains).
The toilets/showers... were always clean, the staff friendly). The campsite was mosquito-free in June 2025, many different birds sang 24/7 and a seagull searched our tent for food!

Own charcoal barbecues are prohibited, but there are some barbecue areas where you are allowed to barbecue in brick charcoal barbecues.

What the brochures don't mention: The campsite is huge, bicycles/electric scooters are recommended to get to the camping supermarket/swimming pool/sea. There is live music every evening until around 11.00 pm, which can be heard even far away from the restaurants.

There are 5 relatively small swimming pools with relatively small sunbathing areas around them, which were already fully occupied during the Whitsun vacations (low season). A sign indicates that the pool area (5 pools, water depth for babies = knee-deep. In the fun area approx. 1.30 m; no pool for athletes; only opens at 10.00 a.m. until 8.00 p.m.) will be closed to late arrivals if it is overcrowded. Sun loungers with parasols can only be rented for an expensive price, so bring your own sun tent/seating furniture. Only ice cream cones are available in the pool area, a Cornetto or Magnum costs €4.40 in June 2025. There are various bars by the sea, where 1 large scoop of ice cream costs €2.20 - €2.50 (the further away from the center, the cheaper).

In the sea, the shore areas are cordoned off from watercraft (motor/sailboats, jet skis) by buoy chains for the safety of swimmers. On the piled-up sandy beach, there is the option of using the seawater slide or climbing tower in a cordoned-off area for an entrance fee.

Salto trampoline/bouncy castle/etc = 10min/4 € per child

- always has space because it's huge - plenty of offers for children such as water castle, playgrounds, sports field for ball sports, game hall (we did not find it) and much more
Desventajas
- huge = very many people (11000 at our time) - expensive as it is a resort
Quite expensive and full
The campsite is ok and there are some facilities for children such as a football, basketball, tennis or volleyball court. There is a large beach promenade, which is characterized by typical stone and cliff areas, but also offers a sandy beach. However, the ends of cables come out of it every now and... then^^ The lady at the check-in said that there are currently around 11,000 guests at this camping resort. This means that the main areas are accordingly overcrowded. The soccer pitch must have had 200 visitors in the evening and it was out of the question to have a relaxed kick of the ball back and forth. All in all, though, ok. The sanitary facilities were also clean.

Partly very small pitches, sanitary facilities not always clean...
Summer 2024 A Mare area
Very, very large complex. Lots of people, restless due to late night rest. Small pitches - we were in area A with a sea view.
Very expensive in high season with 3 people and a dog. The beach, the sea and the bay are a dream! Restaurants and supermarkets are great! The delivery service is great!
It's certainly more relaxed in the low season...

Modern wash houses, friendly staff, bathing areas, many restaurants, good location
Desventajas
very expensive, cleanliness could be improved, some employees without consideration
Size isn't everything . .
I don't understand what criteria the ADAC uses to award this site a Superior rating every year.
There is a lot on offer, but the design and service could be of a much higher quality. The quality of the live bands in the evening program alone . . .
The entertainment program should definitely be expanded... for the adults!
The cleaning staff in the wash house (in my area) made an effort, but were not really effective . . .
(dirty toilet brushes, scraps of toilet paper on the walls for several days)

In area D, which is actually very central, the sound system in the evening is too much. The music from the Olivia Grill and the piazza are blasting at the same time.
There is no consideration for casualties when it comes to green maintenance, the occupied plots are mowed with a brush cutter, stones and the like fly through the area! I was even hit by a flying piece. That's just not on!

I also wondered why I had to specify the size of my vehicle when I made the reservation. When I arrived, I was allocated a great pitch in the 2nd row, the only problem was that only my caravan and awning would fit on the pitch. Luckily I had nice neighbors so I was able to park my car on their pitch.

In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is not right here! I'm not stingy on vacation, but a lot of things are too expensive here, which other campers also confirmed to me.
The site still has a lot of potential.

Very large and many possibilities
Desventajas
- The evening program could be a little better for the older children. But it's great for small children - Very expensive, bread rolls for 5 people (2 adults, 2 toddlers and 1 baby) not less than 17 € per day, bouncy castles on land and in the water 1/2 day 20 € full day 27 €, washing machine 8 € and dryer 6 €. The little train that crosses the site also costs money, around €6 or €7, but we didn't use it (because of this).
Expensive but good
We have been to Croatia several times. But since the introduction of the €, the prices are sometimes outrageous.

The vacation itself was good!

The site is very large and there are lots of hills, so don't forget your e-bike or e-scooter if you have one.

The location of the place, the cleanliness, ideal for dogs, the friendly staff and the price
Desventajas
I booked with Adria Camping, the price did not fit, then I had to learn that Adria Camp is not responsible for me but an agency Cervia whose office was never occupied (during opening hours) On the homepage it is not clear that you have paid an agency.we have paid in Feb. 50.-€ more than in May. I don't think that's right The hot water is only 3 minutes when showering, and in May only 2 stores are open (with extremely high prices) you should be mobile.
Mobile home
Very nice living container, very nice place, TV-SAT and WIFI.
Ideal for dogs and walkers, despite 2 days of rain there was no boredom.
Friendly staff, perfect cleanliness, unfortunately poor hot water supply.
We were in MAY, when everything was closed except for 2 markets and the restaurants, which was not apparent on the homepage.
We will certainly come back if possible in summer

Location by the sea, beautifully landscaped site
Desventajas
Dirty sanitary facilities, sound from all sides until midnight. Rip-off with a variety of extra costs for activities.
Great area, dirty and noisy place
We were on the site in the summer with 3 children. At first I was lucky that my mover managed to get my caravan up the hill. That would have been unthinkable by hand.
In the awning in the evening we had sound from the Olivia restaurant, the piazza and the beach bar until midnight. 3 music genres, a disaster....

Alcohol was served at the beach bar without an age limit. The result was drunken youths loitering in the wash house, scribbling, firing fire extinguishers and damaging wash basins. A security service should be considered here.

The floor was also cleaned, I think mainly the floor, because the toilet ceramics were constantly smeared with excrement.

There is a water trampoline in the bay in the sea. A fee is charged for its use, as well as for the use of a table tennis table. Last but not least, a small soft ice cream on the beach for the equivalent of €5. A no-go for a relatively expensive place. You feel ripped off here.

We might go to Croatia again, but certainly not to Camping Lanterna.

Vacation park, no camping
Has nothing to do with camping ...
So the place has everything you need, from the saltwater pool, tennis courts, basketball, pools with slides, beach bars, etc. But it simply has nothing to do with camping anymore. due to the size of the place you actually have a permanent noise level. the main road through the area was used during our... vacation by some funny contemporary to let his car permanently howl and drive with spinning tires. due to the trend of the time, you run the risk of being run over by people of all ages with the e-scooter, especially in the evening. This is now the case everywhere, and there are particularly many on the road here.

Large pitches, modern and clean wash house. Great sea
Desventajas
Unfortunately there were some big differences in altitude and long distances. Food was not that great. The swimming pools unfortunately far too full and no rules
Light and shadow
We were here at Whitsun. It felt like the site was only 50% full as there were a lot of free pitches, especially at the back. Nevertheless, both water parks were packed. You had to be happy if you could get a standing place in the water. Swimming was out of the question. Although there are lifeguards,... they are busy chasing non-paying vacationers away from the expensive loungers. There are no bathing rules as we know them from Italy. Children (and adults) jump into the overcrowded pools from all sides. Our daughter was run over on the slide in the children's pool by a boy with a giant inflatable unicorn and pushed under water. Unfortunately, this was tolerated by the staff and not stopped.
Due to the size of the campsite, we had our bikes with us. However, it's all uphill and downhill here. Unfortunately, our 5-year-old daughter couldn't manage the bike due to the inclines. Everything is quite spacious and you have to walk 15 - 20 minutes to get to the children's entertainment in the evening.
What I have never experienced at any other campsite is that a lot of guests use their cars within the campsite to get to the pool, the entertainment, the beach or to go shopping. One of the two markets on site has its own parking lot. That says it all!
Communication with the staff is in English. Some of them also speak German. The staff were also always friendly to us.
The wash house at our planned pitch was currently being renovated and the distance to the nearest wash house was unacceptable for us. We quickly changed our pitch, which was no problem at all. We were given a fantastic, large pitch right in the bay. However, the regular ascent to the wash house was very tedious. I once counted 46 steps. If you have to go up here several times a day with the dishes or even the camping toilet, then it becomes a bit of a sport

- Wash houses all new and clean! - Nice plaza with some stores, - very quiet despite its size, - first-class swimming pool with 15 pools and several slides,
Desventajas
- Restaurants too expensive and food only mediocre, - a camping store on the site is missing
We were thrilled! Only our 2nd 5 star rating!
This place blew us away! With the 3 star ratings here, we didn't expect much, but were extremely pleasantly surprised! The check-in was relatively stress-free for the family via a separate waiting area, but took a very long time of over an hour. We were allocated a parking space - but we couldn't get... into it without a mover. (And I've only had that problem once in my camper life). Nice neighbors then helped us push it. The pitches are large enough and typically gravelled in Croatia. We only paid EUR 20 per night in the low season and the pitch would easily be worth three times that! The pools were in the best condition, there were well-kept green areas everywhere and the sea also had something for everyone with a sandy beach, dog beach or pebble beach. The campsite is extremely large (it takes almost an hour to walk from left to right! (5km)) However, considering the size of the site, there is no store for camping items - if something is missing or broken, you have to drive 15km to Porec. The supermarkets are expensive but well stocked, the various bakeries on the site offer frozen baked goods at Apotek prices (baked rolls 1,- EUR!!!) We then went to the nearest supermarket outside the site and always got the rolls there. The restaurants are rather middle class in terms of food but the prices are also far too expensive (0.3L beer 5,- EUR) The square with all the small stores is well laid out and there is something for every taste. Live music plays there in the evenings. There is a lot on offer for children in the entertainment area, but almost everything comes at an extra charge. But that's what we know from Croatia. The wash houses were all new and super clean! Very well thought out, because you could do the washing up outside and watch the children play in their own play areas at the same time! We would love to come back!

Implementation of infection protection (COVID-19)
The health of the guests is secondary
Infection protection is only available here for the glossy brochure. Employees in restaurants, supermarkets etc. wear masks under their noses without motivation, no attention is paid to distance, number of people at pools etc. All pitches are occupied. All pitches are occupied. Camping guests who shop... in the supermarket without a mask are not made aware of the missing mask. Unacceptable! Obviously only the money of the vacationers is important here, but not their health.

Too much space, overpriced prices
Huge family campsite
We stayed as a family for 10 nights in Lanterna. Due to the coronavirus, there was a lot of free space in our area. The place is huge, you need some time to explore everything. The entire beach path alone takes 30 minutes. The very clean sanitary facilities were positive, they were cleaned several times... a day. There are several restaurants and bistros on the site, but they are relatively expensive. The restaurants on the access road to the campsite are considerably cheaper. It is worth cycling the 10 to 15 minutes to eat very well.
You can also take a cab boat to neighboring Novigrad for a short excursion.
In the evening there is a lot on offer on the central piazza, live bands, entertainment and a children's disco on Sundays. We also recommend the ice cream bar in the D area directly on the promenade.
We didn't visit the aqua park due to the current situation, as there were quite a few little vacationers there.

Tent and mobile home city without cleaning staff
Lanterna has upgraded with tents and mobile homes. These are relatively unkempt. Now in June, the campsites are not cleared of leaves. The campers have to do this themselves. Extremely expensive provision of food and drink on the campsite. Restaurants overpriced. A seasonal permanent pitch near the beach... is 6000 euros for German-speaking people, Czechs get special prices. If you're looking for a racket and Italian fun, you're in good hands here. Nothing for high standards even if the prices suggest it. Staff distant and rude. An alternative for the average all-inclusive tent camper.
