The bakery is already open at 7:00 a.m., the staff is very friendly, and the quality is good Good connection to downtown in about 50 minutes, with only one transfer Plenty of restrooms and showers Free dishwasher
Desventajas
The campsites and the entire campground could be better maintained. Better information and communication would be helpful.
Camping trip from June 9 to 14, 2026
The campground for vacationers is very poorly maintained; some of the sites haven’t been mowed, and you can’t park anywhere near the water station because of the weeds and tall grass. We were greeted very warmly, and we were even asked if we needed electricity, but we weren’t told that the new power... poles weren’t in use yet. After searching for a long time for a power source, a neighbor at the campground told us that we had to use the old power boxes. Unfortunately, this wasn’t just our experience, but that of several other campers whom we then informed accordingly. The restrooms are well-equipped. Unfortunately, we could only use them between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., during which time they were also being cleaned. What we weren’t told when we booked by phone was that during this time, a Dutch school class with a double-decker bus and another regular bus—meaning about 90 to 100 teenagers—was camping on-site. They were quiet at night, and during the day they were mostly out and about. You can imagine what the restroom facilities looked like after their morning and evening bathroom breaks. When we were leaving, we wanted to empty our chemical toilet, but the drain was so clogged that the waste was overflowing from the actual drain opening. At that point, it was around 9:00 a.m. and no technician was on site yet. It was a huge mess, and unfortunately, I wasn’t the only camper who wanted to empty their toilet.
The bread roll service was excellent, and thanks to the 7:00 a.m. opening time. The free dishwasher for the dishes was also great—we hadn’t had that before.
We didn’t use the restaurant because it was closed on the day we arrived, and we cooked for ourselves the rest of the time. The public transportation connection to the city also worked out great; we only had to transfer once.

Clean, well-kept sanitary facilities, modern and functional The pitch was very quiet (Easter 26). Dishwasher in the wash house included.
Desventajas
The location is a little out of the way. The showers have to be constantly pressed when showering. Could run a little longer as the water stops every 10-15 seconds. But useful for saving water.
Simple place, but clean and very friendly staff
Correspondence via the Internet was very pleasant and informative. The personal reception was very friendly. We are there for Easter 2026 and for our trips to Berlin and Potsdam. The location is a bit out of the way. We did not use the public transport. On Easter Sunday there were even chocolate eggs... under the Womo as a small gift from the reception. Quiet at night. Perhaps the permanent campers are not yet active. :) We had planned to cycle to Potsdam, but this is already a long way, so we took our daughter's car in Potsdam. They apologized at the beginning and at the end that the pitches were still sandy. This was not a problem, so no mud on the feet after rain. The sanitary facilities are modern and clean. The showers are clean and functional with two squeegees for the floor and glass wall. It is a bit annoying that the water stops every 10-15 seconds when showering. But useful for saving water. There is a dishwasher, which is started with tokens that are handed out and explained on arrival (here for 3 days 3 tokens). Takes 5 minutes. Otherwise very satisfied.

Several bus stops nearby. Top restaurant.
Desventajas
Dogs allowed. Relatively long journey time by public transport to Berlin.
Ideal for exploring Berlin and Potsdam
The reception was very friendly. The pitches were okay in terms of size, flat, with grass and lots of large trees, some of which provided shade. Electricity on site, water central, no waste water on site. Site quite quiet overall. Wash house very modern and clean. Large shower cubicles, with washbasin,... glass wall, large mirror and plenty of hooks. Good ventilation system both in the toilets and in the shower. The chip for access to the wash house took some getting used to. The restaurant 'Hermann' is highly recommended, high quality food. Bread roll service available. Several lakes in the immediate vicinity.

Nice camp, not modern and the toilets need renovation but they are very clean. Very quite during the night so you can get a good sleep. A lot of shadow and nice spaces for motor homes or tents or trailers.

Nobody speaks English and I think that because of that they find themselves in an accoured position and the give the impression of not being nice but they are not so bad

It is a great camp and we reccomend to stay here. It is a five minute walk from the bus station that brings you to the center of Berlin.

Location of the campsite
Desventajas
Despite booking in advance, we were allocated an extremely poorly we were allocated an extremely poorly located pitch on the edge right next to the sinks at the sanitary block, although more than half of the pitches in the better middle area were free and remained free throughout our stay. It is incomprehensible that our request for a different pitch was not granted and that we were treated in an extremely unfriendly manner. If we had not already paid, we would have left immediately. The reception was not staffed as described, we waited for more than half an hour on arrival, and you can't get through on the telephone number given. The groundsman blocked the water point with his vehicle and then complained that you had to stand halfway along the path when filling up with water😂 Too bad, actually a nice place from the location, but sound and handling indescribable ... Certainly never again!!!
Customer unfriendly
The stay was not very relaxing due to the arrogant and unfriendly tone and the bad parking space right next to the (loud) dishwashing area (noise from 6.30 am).

- reasonable price - large pitch - nice lady at the reception - 600m to the bus stop - large selection of bread rolls at fair prices - idyllic location near the lake surrounded by trees
Desventajas
- Playground very small and not inviting - Toilet facilities (toilets very clean but getting on in years) - Shower facilities (very outdated, partly moldy)
Things are better
to Berlin Mitte by bus approx. 1 hour 15 minutes (didn't bother us)
With the BVG app you can easily check stops and timetables and book tickets.

Due to the many permanent campers, there is probably not enough money to renovate the showers

Good opportunities for cycling, lakes nearby, friendly staff. Restaurant with simple, inexpensive meals.
Desventajas
Dirty, very old sanitary facilities. Power cuts frequently.
Okay
You have to allow about 90 minutes to the center. Otherwise the place is beautifully situated, directly on the Mauerradweg, a swimming lake is within walking distance.
The sanitary facilities are a disaster and very outdated. They also need to be cleaned more often.
But the pitch is quite cheap, 15 nights with caravan, 2 adults and 1 child for 545€. Electricity included.

Incredibly quiet campsite on the outskirts of Berlin. Clean social areas and also on the grounds. Friendly staff. Wifi on site - TV via the network!
Desventajas
It rained in parts, we didn't need that on the day :-) .
Short vacation in Kladow
Without Corona we would have been at the Rockharzfestival in Ballenstett. We quickly looked for a replacement.
We found the small campsite in Klatow. Surrounded by the Havel and lakes.
Good cycle paths in the surrounding area. But the direct connecting roads to the campsite are simply hell for motorists,... cyclists and pedestrians.
Very narrow, with unnecessary obstacles from the municipality to prevent parking.
The campsite has a license plate recognition system at the entrance barrier, which we didn't realize at first, we come from the countryside;-)

Very quiet
Desventajas
Not really child-friendly, not really dog-friendly either, see again in the text why. Toilets urgently need a makeover
Quiet campsite
Very quiet campsite, perhaps already too quiet, people quickly become sensitive when the neighbor crackles with the bag. Sons is the location of the place very nice. The bad thing is that the plots are not properly separated (with a small fence or similar). Just as bad or rather bad is the reception... in the reception of a certain blonde lady, with shoulder-length hair. With this lady it can quickly happen that you are received in a tone that makes you want to turn around and leave immediately. I've never experienced anything like it in my life, and I've spoken to other people on the square about it, and this particular lady is known for having such a tone. It is said that this person has often made people not want to come back a second time. Why can this lady behave like this? I think this kind of behavior is below par. But apparently guests are not welcome there. The rest of the staff are all super nice and try very hard, just not this one lady. We won't be coming back for this reason either. There are plenty of campsites that almost wave happily to guests when they arrive. The campsite could also purchase vending machines where you can empty the toilet cassettes. The campsite is also described as dog-friendly, but we didn't find a dog toilet or washing facilities for dogs. It is said to be child-friendly, but children are not allowed to play ball. So it's almost like sit down and stay quiet. And the so-called playground is also very poor. The toilets are also in real need of an overhaul. They look very old-fashioned, and there aren't even any clumsy partitions at the washbasins. As I said, you could have put up with or accepted almost anything, as you sometimes leave the place, but this blonde lady from reception made us not want to come back, just as after talking to other guests, they don't want to come back either. There are people who want to work with love and heart, but this lady apparently does not, and can probably do as she pleases there. Take care, when this lady is no longer there, we might like to come back again.

Place with a typical camper atmosphere
We've been here twice now. Very nice staff. Special athmospheres in the forest and lake. Still close to the cities of Berlin and Potsdam. The sanitary facilities are outdated but clean. The playground could be renovated. But overall, very nice place. We hope that the permanent pitch we have chosen will work out at the beginning of next year!

Service building in need of an overhaul
Okay stop at Berlin
The campsite is centrally located in relation to Berlin and with good excursion opportunities to the city at a reasonable price. The service building is of an older date and yes it could probably be cleaned better but it does not compensate for the wear and tear of 10 years :-) We stayed there for a... few days with nice peace on the site and reasonable distance to shopping and a beach. Good opportunities for a bike ride around the lakes and into Berlin.

Disappointed
We stayed there for 3 nights. The reception was very nice. There were lots of tall pines and birches all around the site. Satellite reception was not possible at all on our pitch. The crowning glory was the sanitary building. It is very old and neglected. Although a cleaner cleaned the rooms regularly,... it didn't seem that clean. The corners were already very neglected. A small part of the showers had been renewed. The locks on the doors of the toilets and showers were partially defective or very difficult to close. The only thing that worked flawlessly was the WLAN. Conclusion: we will not be back.

Quiet place near the city
This was our 2nd time here and certainly not our last! A nice, clean site, very friendly welcome. Store and restaurant too. Very sufficient supply for daily needs. Close to town with other stores. Berlin City can be reached in 20 minutes (by car). Pitches are nicely paved so that even motorhomes have... no problem. Tent area separated from the caravan/camper area with lots of benches and tables. All in all a beautifully situated campsite in the forest.

Quite far away from the Berlin hot spots Sanitary facilities quite antique
Update on the place of a "repeat offender" :-))
Update 2017: my original review dates back to 2012 (see below). In the meantime, we have been back to the Paltz a few times, most recently in August 2017, so an update is due. Basically, the rating from 2012 still stands. The place is far away from the hustle and bustle, but quiet and quite pleasant.... The - new - staff are still really nice and open. However, there have been a few changes. The lunch break has now been abolished. A huge advantage! The restaurant has new tenants. The food on offer is limited, but tasty and the price level is absolutely fine. You can also see it in the frequency of use, it is popular with both permanent campers and "transit campers". Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are now quite outdated. A renovation would be more than appropriate. The current cleaning team is also not very pleasant. It's strange when a penetrating smell of sweat pervades the sanitary facilities after entering this duo... The financial problems seem to have been overcome. The site's future seems secure. The permanent campers have changed a little. Many of the older people from my 2012 assessment are no longer to be seen. Unfortunately, some of the new permanent campers now have a different attitude towards us tourists. This year I had a few strange instructive conversations, such as that I shouldn't stop in front of the barrier to check in (where else, if there are still no waiting lanes?). Let's see how this changes over the next few years. Another positive change: there is now WLAN on the site. The connection works well and the price is quite reasonable! However, there is room for improvement, but I still like the site. The price-performance ratio is absolutely okay! Here's the original text from 2012: First of all, we've already been to the campsite five times, so I'm confident that I can give a comprehensive assessment of the campsite. Among the positive aspects: - The absolutely quiet location! Anyone who has had a stressful day in Berlin will appreciate the peace and quiet and almost village-like location - Kladow is a very nice district with all the shopping facilities for daily needs - the proximity to one of Berlin's most beautiful lakes, the Glienicker See. Here you can really get that vacation feeling - there is a bus stop in the immediate vicinity. By changing at Kladow, you can get to the Zoo station - the location is very suitable for trips to Potsdam - the reception is manned until 10 pm; this helped us a lot when we were stuck in traffic jams on arrival! - the staff at the site are very friendly and helpful - the site is mainly in the hands of permanent campers. However, the mostly older people are extremely friendly, so that you feel welcome and not at all like a nuisance - the price-performance ratio is very good. So you can really still afford a stay! Despite all the positive factors, there are also a few points worthy of criticism: - the sanitary facilities are quite old and when the site is full, the number of showers is already very close to the capacity limit - during prolonged rain, some pitches are heavily under water and you wade through the mud. A bit of straightening out would be helpful - like all Berlin sites, the campsite is a bit at the end of the world. A quick trip into the city is not possible. It takes less than an hour by car or bus. If you want a more central location, you have to use the camper van sites in Berlin. The only thing missing is the vacation atmosphere! - Lunch break! Actually a joke for a pitch in the German capital. I couldn't believe that there was such a thing. During the break, the site looks more like a high-security wing than a campsite. Anyone who has forgotten their key has no chance of getting onto the site. What's more, there are not enough parking spaces in front of the gate. Not to mention waiting lanes for caravans! - the restaurant is not particularly customer-oriented and is only open sporadically. Even the employees of the campsite can only shake their heads at the operator. Last year, the operator didn't open on the evening of the World Cup final, despite requests from numerous Dutch guests on the pitch! Conclusion: for us, the positive aspects outweigh the negative, so we will always come back. A site without a lot of frills, which is therefore affordable and concentrates on the essentials of camping. Nevertheless, a little modernization would do us good. However, the operator DCC Berlin has had some financial problems in recent years. I hope the site survives in the long term!
