friendly operators, beautiful beer garden, located directly on the shore
Desventajas
none
Campsite directly on the riverbank
I was cycling along the Fulda cycle path and camped here. Friendly operators, nice beer garden with food carts on some evenings. The sanitary facilities are a bit outdated and certainly at capacity when fully occupied, but they are clean and well maintained. The campsite is completely in the shade, which is certainly an advantage in summer. I liked it on the CP. The price was also okay.

beautiful location, very nice staff, nice beer garden
Desventajas
When the pitch is full, it is sometimes difficult to access or leave your pitch. Especially in the shore area. Sometimes no SAT reception possible.
Paddling on the Fulda
The campsite is in a really beautiful location, with some pitches right next to the Fulda. In warm weather, the old trees provide good shade.
The proximity to the railroad line didn't bother us.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities are getting on in years, but were always... clean! Overall, however, the entire building with reception, catering and sanitary facilities has a special flair.
The access roads to the site are a little tight.
With larger caravans you can sometimes reach the limits.
The beer garden, directly on the Fulda, offers plenty of space.
As the site is located directly on the cycle path, you can make some nice cycle tours from here. A visit to Rotenburg's old town is definitely worthwhile, and a canoe trip on the Fulda is also suitable for beginners thanks to the slow-flowing water.
Thanks again to the friendly staff!

Pitches on the Fulda CP directly on the cycle path Shopping facilities within walking distance in the village
Desventajas
Number of sanitary facilities too low for the size of the pitch and at peak times
Season opener on the Fulda
A beautiful campsite located directly on the Fulda and on the cycle path. Shopping facilities are within walking distance in the town.
At peak times, the sanitary facilities with 3 places each (WC, shower, washbasin) are at their capacity limit.

This was discussed with the site operator
Nice family business
Beautiful family-run campsite that leaves nothing to be desired. Starting with the telephone inquiry to the check-in, the well-kept large pitches, the gastronomy including barbecue trolley, bread roll service, everything is OK and the crew is always friendly and restless with a smile on their lips despite... the increasing stress level in the evening. The pitches are all on grass and are in the first row directly on the Fulda. Although the rail traffic is within sight and earshot, it was never annoying. And remember, camper van drivers greet each other.

Super friendly email communication and reception! Uncomplicated reservation Nice little place Pitches directly on the Fulda Very clean sanitary facilities
Desventajas
-very loud audible railroad track (freight trains, ICE, etc...) -that there are no water connections on the pitch and no possibility to discharge waste water. But that is, due to the "small size" of the CP, complaining on a high level ;) -bread roll service only on Saturdays
Extended weekend in Rotenburg
A very nice small CP located directly on the Fulda. The reception, a scullery and the very clean and lovingly decorated sanitary facilities are located in a beautiful wooden house on 2 floors. We received a really warm welcome. Quote: "Arrive first, feel at home, you can pay when you leave..."
Rotenburg... is a beautiful half-timbered town and very easy to reach by (e-)bike or on foot.
It has a beautiful castle park with a small brewery, ice cream parlors and good shopping opportunities - even for bread rolls for breakfast. However, it would take me too long to walk to the bakery... A bike is recommended here. On Friday, a butcher's truck came to the site with excellent products and the CP's own small food truck also gets a clear recommendation. We tried the delicious burgers and were served in a very friendly manner.
Unfortunately, the nearby railroad line should not go unmentioned. Trains of all kinds run here at relatively short intervals and you can't miss them!
All in all, our weekend was short but wonderful thanks to the friendly hosts. A clear recommendation!

It is a very great campsite. The location on the Fulda is super relaxing and very cozy. It's very clean and you just feel at home. The people are super friendly and very helpful. Above all, they respond to you personally and I felt welcome right from the start. I can only recommend the campsite :)
Desventajas
There were no disadvantages during my stay!
Nina
The campsite has a great location and is easily accessible. The peace and quiet by the water is very relaxing and the people are super friendly. I felt at home right from the start. The sanitary facilities are very clean and the camping kitchen was also very clean and I was able to cook without any problems.... The registration process was very relaxed and I immediately felt at home. I was able to fill out my registration form over a cold drink on the terrace and arrive without any stress. I was immediately made to feel very welcome when I registered.
I would visit this campsite again in a heartbeat and, above all, recommend it to others.

Very friendly welcome, nice and caring management. Very clean, quiet little place. We felt very comfortable, somehow familiar. Ideal CP for tours into the Hessian mountains, situated on the German half-timbered and fairytale route.
Desventajas
Somewhat weak WLan. Train within earshot, we didn't mind, the trains left again quickly. These "disadvantages" can't spoil the nice atmosphere in the slightest.
Quiet little fine place
We were there for a week at the end of July 2020. Very warm and friendly welcome. During the whole stay you could feel that the well-being of the guests is the whole endeavor of the campsite operators. The campsite is run with a lot of love and passion. It's nice that something like this still exists....

The site is ideal for cyclists, hikers and canoeists. The campsite is located right on the outskirts of Rotenburg a. d. Fulda. The beautiful old town can be reached by bike in 5 minutes, on foot I would estimate 10 minutes. A very beautiful old town with very well-kept half-timbered houses, castle and other buildings. Melsungen and Fritzlar are just as easy to reach from here by car. All in all, simply great.

We will definitely be back.

If there was an Oscar for kindness...
Beautifully situated pitch directly on the Fulda. The village with its castle is within walking distance. Bread rolls can be ordered on site, snacks and drinks are also available. The clean sanitary facilities and washing-up facilities are only accessible via a flight of stairs - so not suitable for... the disabled or people with walking difficulties. It's a shame, because the warmth and friendliness of the owners is rarely found. They really put their heart and soul into their work. :o) You'll be happy to come back to this place! The railroad line in the background is not as loud as you might think at first.

Oasis in the countryside
Beautifully located on the Fulda cycle path and also close to the city. The building exudes the charm of the 1920s and has been lovingly and invitingly designed by the operator. The sanitary facilities are very clean (!!) and the staff extremely friendly! You can have a drink, eat and enjoy the view of the Fulda on the terrace or the lawn with seats by the water or hire a boat to sail along the river. Conclusion: A great place to feel good!

A special thank you to the extremely friendly site manager and her husband (?), who treats the guest as king even when there is a large crowd. You immediately feel at home (as you come, so you are received).

Friendliness, value for money, cleanliness, close to town
Desventajas
Train traffic
Beautiful place with a view of the Fulda
Very friendly groundskeeper, sanitary facilities simple but with everything you need, very clean and even in the last week before the winter rest, a bit of a hotel feeling with towels and cosmetics for forgetful campers. Good opportunities for cycling on the Fulda cycle path, boating rather unsuitable,... despite the federal waterway, 1-2h paddling or pedal boat is well possible. Nice town center also within walking distance, mini golf and simple indoor swimming pool nearby. The freight trains are a bit annoying in the evening, but we only noticed very little train traffic at night. Please note: Both our navigation system and Google Maps would have led us to the campsite via the cycle path from Lispenhausen, the only access is through the center of Rotenburg!

Proximity to the city, cleanliness
Desventajas
Very loud freight trains at night
Ideal for paddlers and sightseeing
Located directly on the Fulda with good mooring facilities. Level pitches in two rows along the riverbank. Few permanent campers, Rotenburg town center with restaurants and stores just a few minutes' walk away. Sanitary facilities simple and older, but very clean. Hot showers included. Small restaurant... with drinks, bread service in the morning, albeit baked. Small marquee with covered seating offers shelter in the rain. Very reasonable prices. However, the loud freight train traffic from the neighboring railroad line is very annoying, especially at night, and during our stay there was also a youth group making noise late into the night.

Lovingly managed campsite, close to the town
Desventajas
For sensitive people possibly the trains in the vicinity
A place with heart and soul
Rarely have we visited such a lovingly run place. Despite the not-so-new facilities, the tenant makes us feel at home. The historic campsite building was once a bathing establishment and has been lovingly refurbished by the new tenant. Everything is spotlessly clean. The turquoise color of the camping... building is somewhat unusual, but has a lot of charm. The railroad line runs above the campsite and trains often run along it during the day. However, this is not at all disturbing. You can also hear some trains at night. I am very sensitive to noise and heard trains at night too, but I didn't mind. The likeability of this place made up for everything. We will definitely be going back and can only recommend this gem. Beautiful pitches right on the banks of the Fulda and Rotenburg is a cute little town. Thank you Mrs. Hollenbach-Köberich for your warm hospitality

Had a nice weekend
Hello were from July 24-26 on this beautiful CP directly on the Fulda. We were very pleasantly surprised by the friendly operator Ute. Bread roll service was great and her beer garden and the cake too. Very nice pitches with very good power supply. The sanitary facilities are older, but in great shape and very clean. We hardly heard the couple of trains. Thank you for your kindness and we will be back.
