A Wonderful Vacation
We spent 11 days at this campground in July with three generations of our family (7 people ranging in age from 10 months to 76 years). The staff were very friendly and always tried to help when problems arose. The food and drinks were very good; we just had to get used to the fact that food and drinks... had to be ordered and paid for at separate counters. The restrooms were always clean and there were enough of them. It was a short walk to Lake Plau. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Very, very good contact when booking
I wanted to reserve pitches at this campsite for Ascension Day this year.
I was answered very politely and competently. My requests were accepted.
Everything was so uncomplicated compared to other campsites/reservation requests.
Many thanks again to Jan.
(Unfortunately, due to other circumstances, I was unable to stay here).

Bread roll service ok
Desventajas
Disadvantages for spontaneous overnighters the breakfast just unloving, 1 cup of coffee, 2 rolls. 6 side dishes half slice of cooked ham, or 1 slice of salami, 1 slice of cheese, or spoonful of jam or honey or Nutella all carelessly on a plate not even a slice of cucumber or tomato or a few grapes, and then ask for 10.50 just cheeky and then sausage from the Aldi ....
No recommendation
No mobile phone reception on the entire site, no shopping facilities on the campsite, not even the essentials, so you shouldn't forget anything, especially annoying with the motorhome.

Ventajas
-PERFECT online booking function!!! -There is also a WC and a washbasin in each of the separate showers. -Water tap directly at the power box (Schuko, no CE!) on the pitch -Not too big -In bad weather, people with tents can also stay in a pavilion -Gastronomy -Bread rolls can be ordered -Various types of rental accommodation (barrels, witch's house etc.) -bicycles, paddle boats can be hired
Desventajas
-Campsite is not located directly on the lake -Military flight activities
Beautiful campsite, beautiful area!
This is the second time we have been to this campsite and we would go there again.

Particularly noteworthy is the easy online booking function with pitch display and occupancy period of the individual pitches. (You can see exactly when a pitch is occupied or free.) Book, pay, done - it couldn't be better!!!...

The campsite is situated on higher ground and is fairly level.
There are two well-kept, modern sanitary blocks on the site
The lake is a few hundred meters away, beautiful beach with sunbathing area.

The cycle paths in the area are more for mountain bikers, sometimes very steep paths, very good for sports enthusiasts. The further you cycle in both directions around the lake from Stuer, the less hilly the terrain.

-Paddlers are advised to paddle along the right bank, where there are several opportunities to moor up relatively undisturbed.

-You can do your shopping in Plau

-Sanitary facilities are cleaned daily

-Food and drinks are available in the covered outdoor area, where you can also order your breakfast rolls

Interesting things to do in the surrounding area:
-Plau am See
-Bear forest
-Beautiful forests for picking mushrooms
-Pure nature
-Lake Plau - swimming, paddling, fishing

- beautiful and quiet location - short distances to the beach - location on Lake Plauen
Desventajas
- Waiting area for check-in, where 4 caravans/camper vans fit. The road is then impassable in the worst case. - Staff very snippy and overwhelmed - Pitches uneven and sloping, no camper van can be aligned without blocks - Reception and catering opening hours
Camping... Not like this again
The campsite is lovingly designed and pleasantly "small". There are plenty of activities for young and old. The sanitary facilities are generously sized and sufficient for the number of campers. Unfortunately, they were only cleaned once a day during our stay. The pitches themselves are generously sized... but the condition of some of them is catastrophic - crooked, sloping terrain, unmown and ploughed up (statement from the groundsman: that's just the way it is on a nature campsite?!?). Very incomprehensible that there are two groundskeepers present all day.
The food is absolutely top class - but unfortunately the opening hours (food until 7.30 pm and bar until 8 pm) and the way the guests are treated (from stroppy to rude) are impossible. The impression was that the staff preferred to take a break, sit in the middle of the guest area and make fun of? Exactly - the guests.

Conclusion: a great little, lovingly designed place. The way the staff treated us is enough for us not to book there again.

Very beautiful landscape, great sanitary facilities, very well-kept site, good service
Desventajas
The way the chef treats his paying guests is completely out of the question. A small camping store would be nice, as there are no shopping facilities within walking distance.
Nice place but ...
We visited this site for 3 nights. The campsite is very clean and well maintained. The sanitary facilities are great. So far everything is wonderful. The staff are friendly and in a good mood. Well, all except the cook. His behavior towards paying customers is unacceptable to us. It's a shame, we actually really like the place, but we won't be going there again.

-Pitch a field, unkempt -staff unfriendly, snippy -no mini market -no network/internet
Not again
This place is more suitable for a short stay. If you stay longer, you should definitely be mobile. The nearest shops are 10 km away.
Internet and network are not really available. No chance without a mobile router. If you like it rustic and completely cut off, this is the place for you. We left early.

Location on Lake Plau Peace and quiet
Desventajas
Pitches very uneven and sloping no mini market; few washing-up facilities; no cell phone network; no sufficient WLAN;
O.K. for a short vacation.
We spent a week of our summer vacation here in Corona times. We had high hopes for the campsite based on the previously very positive reviews.
But we were rather disappointed. Our pitch on the edge was plowed up by a mole and was plowed up again every day. The pitches made a poorly maintained impression.... Nettles and tall grass at the edges.
Without a drive-on aid and high blocks under the supports, it was not really possible to stand level. The reception was always friendly, sometimes very firm.
The bread rolls are very tasty and were always fresh.
Otherwise there is unfortunately no mini market and you have to go to Plau am See (15 min. by car) for shopping.
The snack bar is only open until 8pm, except for special programs at the weekends.
They serve tarte flambée, currywurst and chips. Here, too, more service and longer opening hours would be desirable. The food must be ordered by 7.00 pm.
The cleaning staff were unfriendly. We know it's not an easy job and we tried to be friendly, but we were told off straight away. The shower rooms with WC and mini washbasin were ok.
There were far too few washbasins. In the evening you had to hurry because there was no light.
You can do a lot by bike. There are very nice paths around the lake.
The location of the campsite is very nice. Unfortunately, there is almost no network coverage and the guest WiFi only works at reception.
The mini golf course is very nice. We didn't hire kayaks at the campsite. Instead, we went to Plau am See and were able to paddle up and down the Elde or on Lake Plau in a 2-person kayak for €25 all day.
More could certainly be made of the site. The price for one week for 4 people was good, but in the end it also corresponded to the condition of the site. We can only recommend the site for a short trip.

The weather

Moody boss and overworked staff. The pitches are as uneven as a freshly plowed field and too small (some less than 70 square meters). No mini-market so that shower gel or toothpaste could be bought quickly. Next shopping opportunity 10 km away! Compliance with the Corona hygiene regulations is zero!!! etc. etc. etc.
not again!
"More appearance than reality". We liked it at first, but in the end we were glad to be away again.
The unlimited shower time and the additional toilet in the shower cubicle didn't outweigh the disadvantages.

Clean, good location with direct access to the lake, Sensational sanitary facilities for the price
Desventajas
For young people: Cell phone reception is poor or non-existent (depending on the provider) and WiFi is only available at reception. Dogs are not allowed at the first bathing area, you have to go further through the forest to other parts of the lake.
Good and affordable....
On our way to the Baltic Sea, we spent a few days at this inexpensive yet very good campsite.
The sanitary facilities include cabins with WC, shower and washbasin, just like a private bathroom. This is sensational for the price, something you won't find at some 5-star campsites such as Kühlungsborn....
Of course, everything is a little simpler, more rustic and more handmade, but we didn't see that as a disadvantage.
Now, in the high season, the campsite was quite full (no wonder) and therefore a little less busy. But we met nice people, the staff are friendly and our teenage children quickly made friends.
Animation etc. You search in vain, but that's why we also go to such smaller campsites. TOP: Water and waste water also on the pitch. Not commonplace for the price range.
We wouldn't stay there for 2 weeks, but for a short trip to the Mecklenburg Lake District, the site deserves a clear recommendation.
Conclusion: Stay as you are! That's good.

Very clean sanitary facilities, beautiful location, delicious tarte flambée.
Desventajas
Very narrow entrance, boss needs getting used to. Uneven pitches. No WLAN, hardly any cell phone reception (network) regardless of provider.
Welcome to the valley of tranquillity, if you like it...
In our opinion, this campsite is recommendable even if the camper should bring along a good degree of tolerance.

The guests come from all walks of life, from Prenzlauer Berg to Dahlem, everything is represented here.

If you don't have an LTE router or a satellite dish, you'll have peace and quiet here... and be virtually cut off from the outside world, as there is virtually no network and the Wi-Fi is only available right next to reception.

The reception is down-to-earth and rustic, a clear language is spoken here. Nevertheless, a clear announcement can lead to amusement, the boss and the receptionist, who is also the cashier for the bar, are very friendly.
Less so the operator's husband, who takes a lot of getting used to... and sometimes makes an announcement in front of the guests in the direction of his employee and the guests, which is not really professional and doesn't make the guests feel good.

Some of the pitches are uneven, the maintenance condition of the pitch is natural, you have to like it, although aligning the vehicle can be a test of patience. Electricity and water connections are in good condition. The toilet cassette can only be emptied in one place on the pitch, so it can be a long walk...

The sanitary facilities are particularly noteworthy, they are very clean, spacious and well maintained.

The obligation to wear a mask is not really taken seriously here, neither by the operator (husband) nor by various guests, which was incomprehensible.

Conclusion: We liked it, despite some adversities we would come here again because the location is beautiful and it is relaxing.

Beautiful campsite with very nice sanitary facilities. I have never seen a toilet in the huge shower.
Desventajas
The nearest supermarket is in Plau am See, but if you read the reviews, it was no problem or obstacle for us. The operators are super nice.
Very nice campsite
We liked the campsite very much. Top sanitary facilities, mini golf, bread roll service and you can hire everything to do with water. The nearest shopping facilities are 10 km away, but if you know where to go, that's no problem. It's idyllically quiet here, the operators are great and the location is... excellent. What more could you want? We're going back next week with the camper van and our children have rented a mobile home. This time we're staying for 2 weeks. The area is a dream and easy to explore by bike. But we will also be renting various "watercraft" again.

Great place at the southern tip of Lake Plau
Wonderfully quiet and well-kept place on Lake Plau. The staff are very friendly and uncomplicated! Tip: the boss himself is in the kitchen and prepares the finest tarte flambée! The sanitary facilities were rebuilt in 2017 and are always clean. The shower cubicles are huge and even have their own toilet. The site is ideal for people with dogs and people looking for peace and quiet. All in all, (still) an insider tip.

Fantastic cozy clean campsite
We (couple with dog) stayed with a tent, unfortunately only for 4 nights, at this wonderful little campsite. It is very well maintained and the service provided by the staff is absolutely excellent. The very clean and beautiful sanitary facilities deserve special mention. They are very clean and the... shower cubicles are not just shower cubicles, but each one is a small complete bathroom with washbasin, toilet and shower. Top! We also really liked the service. Every morning you can order fresh bread rolls or even a full breakfast and you can eat delicious tarte flambée and other dishes in the bar. The staff were always very friendly and extremely helpful with any questions. You can also hire a canoe or SUP directly on site at a fair price. The location is very quiet and directly on Lake Plau. You can explore the beautiful surroundings on foot or by bike. Ideal for nature lovers and people who enjoy outdoor activities but also want to relax on the campsite. We recommend the site and will be back!
