Ventajas
Beautiful location Sanitary facilities good and clean Friendly staff
Desventajas
When it gets full at the weekend, guests passing through are simply put on the reserved pitches. Then it's cramped and noisy, the charm of a motorhome site, but for a lot of money.
Beautiful but too full
We will not be back again

Quiet location on the lake, you can stand tense, good inn in the village
Desventajas

Nice place on the lake, especially for overnight stays
Lovely campsite, especially for overnight stops on the way to your vacation. You can park your caravan in a taut spot, which reduces the effort considerably. The sanitary facilities are clean and spacious.

There is a bathing lake right next to the site, which is particularly pleasant when traveling with children.

We highly recommend the Gasthof Krauß in the village, which serves excellent food at reasonable prices.

Ventajas
The arrival was very easy and the welcome was very nice. We had booked an overnight stay with a tent and electricity in advance. The campsite is beautifully situated on a lake, which is great for swimming when the weather is nice. You can choose where to pitch your tent. The toilets and showers in the sanitary building were clean.
Desventajas
The car may not be parked next to the tent. You have to park in a public parking lot at the edge of the forest. The showers and toilets are far away from the campsite and the lighting was not very good at night (stairs). There are only 4 showers each (male and female), 2 of which are in the toilet area. The public toilet at the campsite (lake) was unfortunately very dirty/disgusting. ATTENTION: Do not spend the weekend on the campsite, as it is possible that several families meet there to party and the night's rest (from 10 p.m.) is not observed, which is apparently also known, as there is a sign in the sanitary building that you should call the police in the event of non-compliance with the night's rest.
Campsite at the Auensee
While passing through, we spent one night from Saturday, August 10 to Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the campsite on the Auensee (with Storm, directly on the lake). It was easy to get there and the site was well signposted. We were warmly welcomed and briefed. The campsite is located directly on the lake... (very beautiful and inviting for swimming) and is also visited by NON-campsite guests during the day. You can choose where to pitch your tent, but we found that it was not so easy to connect to the electricity, even though we had booked it that way. The toilets by the lake were very dirty/disgusting and later completely blocked as they were also used by the public.
We had hoped for a quiet night but unfortunately we had apparently arrived on the wrong day of the week,
ATTENTION: Do not spend the weekend on the campsite, as it is possible that several families meet there to party and the night's rest (from 10 p.m.) is not observed (loud music, dancing and singing until 3 a.m.), which is apparently also known, as there is a sign in the sanitary building that you should call the police if the night's rest is not observed. We personally think that the campsite operator should ensure that the night's rest is observed and not the police. Conclusion: A short and noisy night. We cannot recommend the campsite by the lake (with or without electricity).

Ventajas
Quickly accessible from the A9
Desventajas
Some very sloping pitches
Small quiet place
We used the site for transit, as it is only a few minutes' drive from the A9. It is small, very quiet (you can hardly hear the highway) and the staff are very friendly.
The hiking trail along the Saaleschleife is wonderful.
The bathing lake with its small island is probably great for children in summer.

Ventajas
Close to highway but very quiet location.
Desventajas
Access narrow for agricultural traffic (one-way system applies to all others).
Pleasant stopover
We stayed at the campsite for one night on our trip. The site can be reached via a narrow, well-signposted road. Arrival was uncomplicated. Park your vehicle, register after reception opens and order bread rolls. The site is on a slope. Chocks are a good idea, especially for larger vehicles. Some of... the sanitary facilities are ultra-modern and clean. You need 50-cent coins for the shower (but then you get really hot water for 6 minutes). At the lake below there is a playground for children and a restaurant (open until 8pm).

Ventajas
Very clean campsite, idyllic and quiet location, short distances to the lake, restaurants within walking distance. Many very well signposted hiking trails.
Desventajas
Pitches mostly uneven, as on sloping meadow.
Beautiful small and very well-kept lake with a cozy campsite
Nice owners, always clean sanitary facilities. Gastronomy directly at the lake. There are also two rustic inns in the village (approx. 5 min walk) with very good Franconian cuisine. Very good value for money. Campsite available on the lake for families and youth groups. Dogs are not very welcome.

Ventajas
Close to the highway Very quiet and clean Friendly staff
Desventajas
Due to the location close to the highway many transit campers (if this bothers you)
A short break at the Auensee
We stayed at the Auensee for four nights and felt very comfortable. The staff was very friendly, the sanitary facilities well maintained. The small bathing lake with playground (newly created) / table tennis / beach ball and small restaurant invites you to linger. The access via the one-way road, where... two-way traffic from agricultural vehicles is permitted, is a bit narrow. The pitches are not parceled out, which is why it can be a little unstructured on busy days. We would personally recommend the campsite.

friendly reception, close to the highway, clean sanitary facilities, good restaurant
Desventajas

Beautifully situated campsite
We stayed at the campsite with the camper van for an overnight stay. It is not far from the highway and was therefore ideal. The welcome was warm, the sanitary facilities are excellent, in the morning there are various baked goods to order. We had a good meal in the evening in the restaurant next door. We will be back.....

Cozy campsite with new sanitary facilities
CP is located on a small lake. There is a huge sunbathing lawn by the lake. Pitches for transit with electricity are perfectly OK. Sanitary facilities are new and clean. There is a cozy restaurant on site with friendly staff. The site operator is super friendly. Bread rolls to order are great. The site can be recommended without any problems.

Ventajas
Quiet location, nice surroundings, several restaurants nearby.
Desventajas
More pitch than campsite, in the evening it gets very narrow, sometimes too sloping.
Small overnight stay
In the season more a narrow parking space ale a campsite.everyone can stand as he wants.from about 16:00 the place is extremely full and narrow.for a longer stay the place is hardly suitable.a pity actually, because the operators make a lot of effort and are very friendly.

Ventajas
New sanitary facilities. Good breakfast catering on site. Good hiking opportunities in the surrounding area.
Desventajas
Sloping pitch. No possibility of small shopping (if necessary) on the pitch or in the immediate vicinity.
Easter vacation
The campsite is sloping and was very soggy when I visited due to the rain. But that's not the operators' fault, of course. But it was no pleasure to maneuver there due to the slope. The sanitary facilities were new and very clean.

Quiet location, very idyllic, good restaurant on site and also two more in the village, newly created bathing lake and so summer 2018 can come
Desventajas

Beautiful campsite with super nice staff
We have been permanent campers since 2016. It's rare to meet such a nice team and the other permanent campers are also really nice. The campsite with 150 permanent campers and 50 transit campers is not the biggest, but a lot is done. Fresh bread rolls etc. every day on request, even on Sundays. There... is no playground directly on the campsite, but there is one on the adjacent site where the lake is. There is also a volleyball court, table tennis table and the restaurant "Auenseehaus" where you can eat very tasty and you will also be served very friendly. For out-of-town guests visiting the site for the first time, it would be good to know that the office hours are only for a few hours a day (see homepage) but you can still arrive outside these times and simply register later. Update 11.01.2018: The men's sanitary facilities have been renovated and reopened. Now it's time for the women's sanitary facilities. A lot is happening here!!! TOP PLATZ bathing lake newly created and so summer 2018 can come!!!

Pleasant place
I used the site while passing through on my way to Croatia and was pleasantly surprised. The approach through the village was a bit tricky, but manageable. Nice and helpful staff at reception who, despite the one-night stay, pointed out the possibilities in the surrounding area and the free WiFi. Clean sanitary facilities, albeit a little older. Definitely a place that I will remember fondly.

Ventajas
The many hiking and cycling opportunities. Inexpensive and good restaurant(s) in the village and the surrounding area.
Desventajas
Somewhat difficult to approach; 12% gradient in the direction of AB Hof/Töpen. Only one bakery open in the morning.
Positive surprise in the north of Bavaria
We stopped off briefly in Joditz to take a look at the "hidden" NE corner of Bavaria. We were impressed by the campsite at Auensee with its cozy flair, clean sanitary facilities, friendly permanent campers and a very helpful site manager. We will definitely be back to stay a little longer.
