Simple but functional, always clean, friendly staff, and an excellent starting point for bike tours up and down the river.
Luckily, we had a shaded spot, and we were very happy about it. Thank you very much.
Please note: the entrance to the campground leads through a covered passageway.
There’s cold beer from a vending machine.

Plus cycling and hiking trails right on the edge of the village.
There are currently 3 active restaurants in the village.
I did not notice a tense situation in the sanitary area with what felt like 80% occupancy.
Absolutely top value for money.

Mandy H.junio 20225.0Mandy H.junio 2022VentajasQuiet location with great views of the surrounding countryside, very friendly operators, modern sanitary facilities, spacious barbecue area with many tables and benches (partly covered), various leisure activities, grocery store and bakery within walking distanceDesventajasDollnstein itself is already a very quiet place. The inn "Zum Kirchenschmied" is also expected to close this year.Very well managed and equipped campsite directly on the AltmühlCentrally located in the Altmühltal valley, the manageable campsite offers plenty of variety for walkers, cyclists and boat hikers. The network of cycling and hiking trails is very well developed and starts almost directly at the campsite. There is a boat landing stage at the campsite and in the village....
The power supply is a solid 16 amps and the connection to the WLAN was uncomplicated and reliable. The power connection and water point were in the immediate vicinity of our pitch. The local bakery was also open on Sundays and public holidays and the bread rolls were very tasty. The barbecue area with two fire pits is generously sized and offered plenty of seating, some of which was covered. The fact that some guests blocked the tables and benches the whole time, in German towel reservation manner, is less nice. There was a large trampoline and a small playground for the children. The campsite was always quiet and relaxed.
Check-in was quick and cordial. The operator was always very friendly and offered freshly grilled fish on Saturday.
There is a sanitary building with toilets, showers and washbasins. The sanitary facilities are modern, bright and friendly and were always at a pleasant temperature. Although there were only 5 showers, there were no waiting times.
However, the water in the showers drained very slowly and the floor in the shower room did not slope sufficiently towards the floor drain, so that the entire floor was flooded. Unfortunately, there were also no shelves (e.g. a low bench under the washbasins) where you could leave your clothes to dry. After the main shower times there was unfortunately no hot water, only lukewarm.
The whole campsite makes a very clean, well-kept and tidy impression and is very well equipped.
We stayed three nights in our mini camper in the 2nd row of tents and really enjoyed our stay. We would love to come back.Traducido automáticamente.1 campista encontró útil esta valoración. - 5.0AFAlex F.mayo 20225.0AFAlex F.mayo 2022VentajasFriendly staff, direct access to the Altmühl for boatersDesventajasNoneCozy place on the AltmühlA great and cozy place. The operator is very helpful, friendly and responsive to suggestions. The site has been significantly upgraded (toilets, showers, electricity, hygiene, etc.). Shopping facilities and excursion destinations are within easy reach. When fully occupied, the number of toilets is unfortunately limited. Nevertheless, the promise: "We'd love to come back."Traducido automáticamente.Ningún campista ha encontrado útil esta valoraciónaún. ¡Sea el primero!
- 3.0RFRainer F.octubre 20213.0RFRainer F.octubre 2021VentajasSuper location directly on the Altmühl with its own jetty. Operator very friendly and helpful. Renovated sanitary facilities and always very clean. Place offers possibilities for various activities (bike and boat tours, hiking, climbing.) All necessary stores within walking distance.DesventajasGiven the size of the pitch, one sanitary building is not enough, and the very modern and clean shower cubicles are a little too small and cramped.Very beautifully situated place directly on the AltmühlVery nicely located site with super renovated sanitary facilities, very clean. Operator very friendly and helpful.
Given the size of the site, the number of toilets and showers is a little tight. A second sanitary building would be desirable. The size of the shower cubicles is also very limited. A little more size would be an advantage.
All the necessary stores in the village are within easy walking distance.Traducido automáticamente.Ningún campista ha encontrado útil esta valoraciónaún. ¡Sea el primero! - 5.0HGHorst G.septiembre 20215.0HGHorst G.septiembre 2021VentajasVery nice quiet location on the AltmühlDesventajasAccess to the campsite should be better signposted.Super quiet campsiteThe campsite is beautifully situated on the Altmühl. From here you can make beautiful excursions into the surrounding area. It is possible to launch your own boat from the campsite.
The individual pitches are easy to reach by caravan and are generously sized.
It is also possible to stay overnight in... barrels.
The sanitary facilities have been renovated and are very clean.
However, they are probably a little too small when the site is full.
We were on the site as part of the Fendt Meeting 2022.
Dinner was served twice by the campsite owner. A very good tasty menu was offered. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The local bakery and butcher are very close to the campsite (approx. 250m away).
The restaurant "Zum Kirchenschmid" has a very good, reasonably priced menu.
The prices at the campsite are very moderate.
Hiking and cycling are very easy from the campsite.

Except that we've now had 2 rainy days......Everything was great! Always happy to come back.Campsite in a very idyllic location on the Altmühl. Access to the river directly from the site. Completely renovated sanitary facilities - top!
Also ideal for children, as there is a small playground and a small animal garden.
2 campfire sites with seating available. And a very nice Hartl family who... run the site.
On site: supermarket, petrol station, butcher, bakery and restaurant. All within a few minutes' walk.
.... and many excursion destinations "right" on the doorstep.

The toilets are outdated and the cleaning and maintenance of the sanitary facilities generally leaves a lot to be desired. We were given a friendly welcome and were able to choose our pitch. The campsite is getting on in years. The showers are new but mold is spreading everywhere due to insufficient ventilation. The toilets are very, very old. The sanitary facilities... were cleaned daily but only superficially. Cleanliness looks different. The same applies to the scullery. Hygiene should be the be-all and end-all on the campsite.Traducido automáticamente.2 campistas encontraron útil esta valoración.

We particularly liked the location directly on the Altmühl and the wonderful peace and quiet. Ideal for boating, fishing or just relaxing. The Altmühltal also offers many activities, e.g. the Mühlheim fossil quarry, hiking... and cycling trails in large numbers. Sanitary clean and ok, always hot water. Fast and free WLAN. Great leisure facilitiesDesventajasCould not find any.We will definitely be back! The place was a good decision! The site is idyllically situated directly on the Altmühl, is well-kept, clean and quiet. There are restaurants, a gas station and a supermarket in the village. The extremely courteous and friendly Hartl family, who run the site, sometimes operate a snack van at weekends with specialties from the region... (Altmühl Taler lamb, but also grilled chicken, kebab or shashlik). For children there is a large sandpit, trampoline, climbing frame, small soccer goal and swings; a small bird park with parakeets, quails, rabbits and chickens invites children to feed them. There is also a self-service herb bed on the way to the extremely clean sanitary facilities. A drinks machine provides the necessary cooling in the summer heat. A newly built disposal facility for gray water makes your stay easier. We will be back!Traducido automáticamente.1 campista encontró útil esta valoración.
