The booking process was straightforward and went smoothly. The campground was clean and tidy, and we’d especially like to highlight the food service—the food was excellent, and everything else went very well there, too.
However, we weren’t too happy... with the booking policy. We wanted to stay from Friday through Sunday, but due to an event in Soltau, we had to book the campsite starting Thursday for a total of three nights. As a result, we had to pay for an extra night on the campsite, even though we didn’t arrive until Friday. On the bright side, at least we weren’t charged any per-person fees for that unused night. Since, as far as we could tell, there were still vacant sites available during our stay, we found this policy somewhat difficult to understand.
Apart from that, we were very satisfied with our stay and felt right at home at the campground. It starts right at check-in, where there’s a vending machine for drinks and other snacks. The campsites are spacious, often bordered by a small hedge. Everything is always well-maintained and clean.
The food at the restaurant... was also delicious. We took our meal back to our site.
The staff is always very friendly.
There’s a small self-service market with a really good selection. We never felt like we’d run out of bread rolls—they’re always freshly baked. Just amazing.
