As a DK fan you find the place spartan at first glance but you have everything you need. Nice operators, clean sanitary facilities whether new or old. Of course the new wash house is nicer but in the vacation season or at the weekend the children cause uncleanliness which is not the case in the old one.... The place is beautifully situated but you can't buy anything here except bread rolls, there is no store. On the other hand, Edam is within easy reach, a beautiful old town with lots of sights but also plenty of shopping opportunities, even discount stores, you just have to have a look. You can get to the big cities very quickly by bus. The best way to explore the surrounding area is by bike. Certainly not a place for us in the long term but we will come back again.
