We succeeded - the site is very nice and quiet. The operators are friendly and also offer plenty of variety for the children. The staff were very friendly at all times and the restaurant serves very tasty and reasonably priced food except on Mon/Tues!
The lake is also great for swimming after initially overcoming the brown coloration. There is also plenty of play equipment for children on the site.

We were there for the weekend in February. At least very quiet at this time of year. Sanitary facilities clean, warm and well maintained. Beautiful pitches. Even if we arrived late, we were able to get to our pitch by prior arrangement. Located in the middle of the forest, extremely quiet. Some nice hikes are possible directly from the campsite. Great mountain bike terrain. Many excursion possibilities. Friendly staff. Small restaurant with the essentials and nice barbecues at the weekend. Toilets... and showers are clean.
We were a bit annoyed that the campers were placed so close together on the large meadow, although there was enough space.

Great place, well-kept, clean, nice reception, bread roll service.... All in all great despite corona measures, which were implemented super. The cleanliness in the sanitary facilities was more than good and it was cleaned and disinfected... several times a day because of Corona. The operators are super nice and helpful. Pitch was shown personally. The peace and quiet outside the high season is perfect for relaxation. We expected more from the food in the restaurant and would recommend more "fresh" food here, although it wasn't bad! The location is simply fantastic, 6km from the Rennsteig. The restaurant has good offers and very friendly service, there are almost no waiting times.
For us as cyclists the ideal starting point, once to the Inselsberg and on the other side to the Grenzadler Oberhof... possible without problems.
The sanitary facilities are absolutely clean and well maintained.
Our dog felt very comfortable, great walking opportunities, very dog-friendly.
Cell phone reception is good to very good.

We have already visited many campsites and can recommend this campsite 100 percent without a guilty conscience. We were with dog and daughter on the place, very nice facility with petting zoo, lots of green for hiking, small lake for fishing. After reading the negative reviews, I don't know where these campers were. Very nice operators, fresh bread rolls and newspaper in the morning,... very clean sanitary buildings (I'm really picky).
