The operators are welcoming and always endeavor to make your stay a highlight.ΑρνητικάGuests do not always adhere to strict waste separation.Somewhere in the middle of nowhere - peace and quiet, wonderful sceneryLovingly maintained 'garden' campsite. The pitches are large and separated from each other by hedges, bushes and flower beds. Even when full - the neighbor is far enough away. The lawn is like on a golf course - carpets are undesirable so that the grass stays nice and green. Strict waste separation.... Sanitary facilities have been modernized. We didn't mind that there is no separation between male and female, why should there be? Good hot water at the sinks, shower included. For us, the perfect campsite if you are looking for peace, nature and beautiful surroundings. Cycle paths and hiking trails from the campsite, so you can experience something new every day for a week. The sanitary building has been completely redone - the criticism sometimes voiced here is outdated. Three showers, 3 sinks with hot water, three toilets (separate from the washroom). Small but nice - in a small village in the Thuringian "nowhere". The operators have painstakingly restored the nearby castle and built a small campsite in the "castle park".
The joy would have been unalloyed if the sanitary building had been as modernized as the castle!... Male and female together - you like that in bed, but on a campsite it's the exception rather than the rule. I don't really find toilets and washing facilities right next to each other appetizing. Shower cubicles are sealed with "elephant tape", everything looks makeshift and completely unloving. Unfortunately, this totally ruins the otherwise successful impression. And on top of that, there was the corona-related bottleneck with shower times to be booked in advance and very limited availability of toilets.
Then there is also a strict garbage regiment: "gray waste" has to be paid extra at the end.

The operators are very friendly, although sometimes hard to find. The site is beautifully laid out in the castle garden and separated from the building by tall trees. A real insider tip for relaxing and as a starting point for hikes. Paths are well signposted. Lots of excursion possibilities in the Rhön and surrounding area.ΑρνητικάNoneExceptionally lovingly designed, small campsiteWe have never seen such a lovingly designed and well-kept campsite. The campsite operators are wonderfully friendly Dutch people who bought the small Roßdorf castle and surrounding park around 11 years ago. Since then, they have transformed the previously run-down property into a real gem with exceptional... commitment, expertise, taste and probably even more work. The owners' motivation for setting up a campsite is to share this wonderful spot with other friendly people. This is visible in every corner. As a camper, you have the feeling of being part of castle life. Although the site - fortunately - only has 15 (spacious) pitches, they are so cleverly arranged in the park that an almost family atmosphere is created without people getting on each other's nerves. There is also a separate meadow for tents, which is no less lovingly and comfortably designed. All the necessary facilities (sanitary facilities, showers, scullery, washing machine and dryer etc.) are available in sufficient quantity, perfectly clean and just as lovingly furnished as the entire site. When I arrived I looked for the reception. It was in the castle and completely uncomplicated. I was also allowed to charge my cell phone in the private apartment.... I was able to park my mini camper in the circle - that's how it is - with a caravan. I found everything I needed for a vacation here in the nearby shops. The restaurant just as close - the only one in the village - has good, reasonably priced food. I didn't just feel at home here. I was here too. Friendly hosts, fantastic garden, er... campsite. For cycling and hiking, simply beautiful.
