I would like the pitches to be a bit bigger, then I could definitely imagine staying longer. The lake was wonderfully refreshing and the view of the mountains is very nice. The pitch itself is quite large, but the site is manageable for vacationers,... everything else is permanent campers. The sanitary facilities are very nice, unfortunately I once had the misfortune that the water in the shower didn't drain at all. Everything is very quaintly furnished. The restaurant is fine, the bread rolls were delicious. The atmosphere is informal and friendly and you can have a chat with the manager. We are very sorry that you did not feel comfortable on our campsite and that you were not satisfied with your stay with us.
However, there are a few points of criticism that I would like to put into perspective.
Our swimming pond is also a fish pond or leisure pond. We have to have... the water quality of our pond checked annually by an authorized laboratory of the Province of Styria and have always had or still have drinking water quality.
We always try to keep the sanitary facilities clean for everyone and these are cleaned daily and checked several times. However, it can happen at any time that not all guests have the same attitude in the community and anonymity and it is often very difficult to do justice to the point of cleanliness.
Regarding garbage: All garbage cans are emptied once a week or twice a week during peak times.
You are wrong in your criticism of the billing. You only pay for the overnight stay with us.
So if you arrive on Monday and leave on Friday, you pay for 4 nights but stay on our site for 5 days. Check in is possible from 11.00 am and check out is until 12.00 pm.
So you get a whole day extra.
I would like to thank you for the tip for better labeling. This will be implemented by winter.
In conclusion, I would just like to say that it is not in our interest to deliberately force points of criticism. Although we arrived very early, we were able to choose a pitch straight away. The day pitches are in the lower part, right next to the Mur. Most of them are nicely shaded by old fir trees and the ground is covered with grass. The... pitches are large and reasonably level. There is plenty on the site for young and old. There is a playground and numerous attractions for children around the lake, such as a soccer pitch, halfpipe, air cushion trampoline, table tennis tables, table football, boats on the beautiful bathing lake and much more. If you want, you can also take part in the numerous daytime activities (archery and rifle shooting, fishing, excursions...). We highly recommend mushroom hunting with the boss himself ;) The reception offers a bread roll service and you can buy a few groceries directly, e.g. sausage, cheese, butter, eggs, honey, wine or a crate of beer. What you can't get is available in the numerous shopping facilities in nearby Murau. The cycle path is easily accessible via a dirt track on the side of the riding stables, without having to cross the road! The sanitary facilities are available in sufficient numbers. Unfortunately, however, it is only as clean as the guests leave it!!! The restaurant offers a daily changing menu in addition to pizzas and other longtime favorites. Home cooking - very tasty and reasonably priced.
Conclusion: We felt very comfortable and can only recommend the place. For the sake of honesty, small deductions may be allowed. The site is pretty much halfway between Sankt Georgen am Kreischberg and Murau. The pitches are very generously sized. The ground consists of grass and gravel in places. We had a whole day of continuous rain. The pitch was a bit soggy, but not so bad that... you sank in. The sanitary facilities are clean, but are only cleaned once a day in the morning, which means that the dirt that some guests leave behind is there until the next morning. The cleaning staff should also look at the ceiling of the wash cubicles more often. The cobwebs are unfortunately very visible on the wooden ceiling. Otherwise, the entire sanitary area is beautiful. I noticed that there is a small problem with the hot water. Continuous hot water is not exactly guaranteed, which can lead to problems when washing up. In terms of leisure facilities, this site leaves nothing to be desired. A beautifully landscaped swimming pond, archery, fishing, street soccer, a large jumping pillow and, of course, the associated farm and riding stables with pony rides for the very young and riding lessons for the older children. There was also an interesting farm tour for those interested. And everything there is not to experience on site can be found in the immediate vicinity. Hiking on the Kreischberg. If the weather is bad, there is an indoor swimming pool in Murau. And don't forget a ride on the nostalgia train of the Murtalbahn, where a carriage was reserved especially for guests of the campsite. There is a small restaurant on site which offers daily changing menus and a small menu with other dishes. And of course excellent Murau beer! Next to the reception there is a small stall where you can buy pastries and small items such as butter in the morning. Supermarkets are about 2km away in both directions.
