Loved the birds on the site and the sound of the goats bells .The site is very peaceful and restful.The sanitation block was not ready so we were given a chalet to use as a bathroom this was great except the shower did not drain and you were ankle deep in dirty water .
Negativ
The owners are obviously working very hard to update the site but the pitches need clearing of lots of sticks and twigs which trip you up especially at night . A map to the nearest beach would be good , but we did find one 1.5kms away which was lovely . The constant dogs barking at night kept us awake but the owner has no control over that
Quiet and peaceful
We could choose where we wanted to pitch and that was great and the ground is very level
As I said before the owners are very friendly and could not do enough for you

Hello, good morning, thank you for your kind words about us and our facility. We also appreciate your advice and would just like to clarify a few things. Regarding the cleaning of the pitches, we would like to inform you that a first cleaning was already done when the campsite opened. Unfortunately,... due to strong winds and the number of guests already on site, we were unable to do a second cleaning. Since it is mechanical, requiring the use of tractors, we had to wait for the best time to avoid raising dust for our guests. We would like to inform you that the second cleaning was done yesterday (03/06/2026) and now everything is fine! Regarding the nearest free beach, we'd like to clarify that "Curmo" is just 350 meters away, with free access and a direct walk from a second gate on the property. We clearly display and indicate this upon our guests' arrival, and if we rarely miss it, guests can easily request information. Regarding the map of the nearest beach, it's certainly a great idea to implement (we will, thanks for the advice!), but currently, Google Maps allows you to easily view all the nearest beaches, including directions. As we informed you upon your arrival, unfortunately, our public restrooms were closed due to a major renovation. Today, they're finally finished and fully operational! However, we were able to accommodate you by reserving a private, fully equipped bathroom in one of our apartments just for you! (We're sorry you had this issue with the shower, and we're sure we could have resolved it immediately if you'd reported it to us!) The new public restroom renovation was definitely worth it, considering the new dedicated camper service area and the new restrooms (all squat toilets were removed and all toilets were added, in addition to the entire renovation of the entire area). Also noteworthy is the new outdoor tub, specifically designed for bathing our four-legged friends. Warm regards from all the Village Camping Fico d'India staff!
