- Very friendly and helpful staff - Central location directly on the Moselle - City center of Cochem within walking distance - Shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity - Good information and tips from the site operator
Negativa
- Location on the Moselle, main road and railroad leads to heavy noise pollution, especially at night (freight trains and ship traffic) - Wash houses are outdated and seem to be getting on in years - Cobwebs visible in many areas - Overall cleanliness could be improved - Pitches are higher than the access roads, which can lead to getting stuck when the ground is wet
Between Moselidylle and railroad noise
The Mosel Camping Cochem impresses with its great location directly on the Moselle and its proximity to the town center. Cochem is just a few minutes' walk away and there are shops right next to the site. The staff are very friendly and the site operator provides helpful information for your stay and... excursions in the surrounding area.
Less positive is the noise situation, as the site is located next to the Moselle, a main road and a railroad line - at night it can get quite loud due to freight trains and ships. The wash houses are getting on in years, cobwebs are visible in many places and the cleanliness could be better. In addition, the pitches are higher than the access roads, which can easily lead to getting stuck on wet ground.

Conclusion:
A centrally located campsite with a beautiful view of the Moselle and friendly service, but with weaknesses in terms of cleanliness, noise pollution and the condition of the pitches. Well suited for short stays if you appreciate the location in Cochem and are willing to put up with a little ambient noise.

There was little car traffic. Even the heavy rail traffic was not a problem for me
Negativa
Here are a few key points: - No special ambience - Relatively small seats - No bread roll service - Electricity much too expensive
I was not satisfied with the price-performance ratio.
I don't feel like spending another hour writing a detailed review. Just this much in brief.
I have been to many campsites.
There are some that are worse. But there are many that offer a significantly better price-performance ratio.
We went to St. Goar after our stay with you.
The site was bigger, the... atmosphere was more pleasant and this site was only slightly more expensive.
The price for electricity was quite blatant. With you we would have paid well over 10 for 2 days. Under these circumstances we did without electricity. In St. Goar we also paid € 2.55 for 2 days; 2.77 KW.

Kind regards

Close to the city on the Moselle clean friendly Supermarket "next door"
Negativa
Old, rather small sanitary building Power distribution can be switched off
Older CP on the Moselle
Spacious campsite with central, aging but clean sanitary facilities, which in my opinion are too few (queuing for showers). Electricity cannot be plugged in/unplugged by yourself but only via the groundsman, you may need longer cables. Laying across the road etc. suboptimal in my opinion. Water point only at the sanitary building. Cochem (approx. 2km) and supermarket (approx. 500m) within cycling/walking distance. Ok for one night.

Flat sites. Manager speaks English. Can park next to tent.

Basic facilities, but functional. Site was muddy due to recent rain. Gates locked in middle of the day so we couldn't leave when we wanted to.
A place to sleep
We were only here one night so it didn't matter to us too much what the campground was like. It was a convenient location for visiting Cochem and the surrounding hills were interesting to look at.

Too narrow...too expensive...unkempt
This place doesn't work at all...expensive, loud and in fall only mud
Camping on the Moselle...but otherwise a disaster!
Pitch on muddy grass, roads muddy and too narrow for maneuvering. WLAN is constantly down. The place focuses on mass instead of class... Leaves a very unkempt overall impression. Far too expensive for this outdated standard.
1st and 2nd Moselle row apparently... only for permanent campers and the pitches are allocated without regard to your vehicle and its size.
Electricity is connected and disconnected. Water is either carried in a bucket or filled up in front of the campsite... Disposal as well.
Noise day and night from the road, busy rail and boat traffic.
After 3 nights it was enough... better pitch

Sanitary facilities already quite outdated Quite loud due to traffic noise from the other side of the Moselle Pitches quite small/narrow No store, no bread roll service
CP directly on the Moselle, sanitary somewhat outdated
The site is beautifully situated on the Moselle, family-run and friendly. Cochem is easily accessible by bike.
Unfortunately, the facilities are getting on in years, electricity boxes and water (depending on location) are quite far away.
Pitches small, maneuvering is sometimes difficult.
For 2-3 max.... Overnight stays o.k., for a week's vacation there are certainly more suitable places on the Moselle.
P.S. How some campers here come up with a 5-point rating is really a mystery to me!

Outrageous
We were here in September 2020 and booked a place 7 months in advance. When we arrived, we were offered two pitches. Actually not bad, but the location of the pitches was an imposition. One next to the sanitary and the other at the end of the pitch. What or when do you have to book to get a place in... the front row? The "choice of pitches" was an impertinence in itself. Then came the power supply. Luckily I had a cable drum (50m) with me, otherwise we would have looked "old". The power box was a mess. Several caravans or motorhomes on one line. A chaos in terms of safety. The lighting in the dark could definitely be improved. Fresh water is only available at the wash houses. Anyone standing at the end has a long way to go. W-LAN very expensive. REWE market (within sight) 1 hour free of charge.
Positive: You can get to the city quickly by bike and even the surrounding area is easily accessible. The former Bundesbank bunker is worth seeing.

Background noise at weekends in summer not acceptable, very long pitch
Close to the city and loud at weekends
Pitches are not large, so divide up the space.
It can get noisy at the weekend due to pleasure boats on the Moselle, a lot of car and motorcycle traffic on the main road opposite, railroads and also younger campers at night who think that the night-time peace doesn't apply to them. A nice rich bass and... loud conversations on the second night until the morning made us decide to cancel our vacation on the site.
The pitch was usable during the week in June. In my opinion, pitches in the Moselle row are almost exclusively allocated to motorhomes.
There are also motorhome users who think they can drain their waste water directly onto the site.

Noisy due to the main road and the railroad line - including the freight yard - day and night, even at weekends
Mosel-Camping-Cochem
We spent a few days here, which is enough time to explore the surrounding area. The town of Cochem is about 15 minutes by bike and about 30-40 minutes on foot. There is not much going on on the site - camper hermitage, hard-working and nice. The deep fryer cooks here, unfortunately no kiosk and no bread rolls.

Noisy due to railroad tracks, wash houses are getting on in years.
As a stop for a visit to Cochem iO, recreational vacation no.
Campsite located directly on the Moselle. Pitches also for large WOMO's, V/E in front of the pitch, on the pitch only with watering can. Power cable should be long enough CEE connection with 10A. 24.5€ with dog, electricity 0,60€/kWh are normal for the area. WC and showers are cleaned regularly and are clean, age-related defects visible but tolerable. Dogs are welcome. For a trip to Cochem iO. for a relaxing vacation no.

1. no washing area 2. no bread roll service
Ideal for exploring Cochem
Ideal CP to explore Cochem and the surrounding area. Very friendly, helpful reception. The CP including the sanitary facilities very clean and well maintained. Railroad and road noise is kept within limits, is actually not disturbing. W-Lan (subject to charge) works perfectly. The campsite is also ideal... for large camper vans (ours is 7.50 meters long). Disadvantage: Bread roll service not available during our stay at the beginning of June; according to the lady from the small bistro: "...at the moment the effort doesn't pay off, we should get the bread rolls from Aldi..." actually a pity; the washing area is closed from 23:00 - 06:00. If you arrive after this time - you have to go to bed unwashed/unshowered, because there is no hot water in the toilet - this restriction is incomprehensible. In addition, the sanitary area is only cleaned after 06:00 - and then there is another lock (1/2 hour - sign)

Proximity to Cochem and location on the river
Negativa
Railroad line also loudly disturbing at night. In spring or after heavy rain, extremely soggy lawns with lots of mud.
Beautiful location on the Moselle
The site scores points for its proximity to Cochem and its location on the river. However, the railroad line on the other side of the Moselle is extremely disturbing due to the loud freight trains that run at night, so earplugs are advisable. However, regional and local trains are quite quiet. The sanitary... facilities are relatively new and always kept clean. No mirrors, sockets or shelves in the separate shower room in the rear sanitary building. The entire staff was always very friendly. For power connection (mostly 10 amp.) partly almost 50m cable necessary, these were also laid over the roads. Very long distances required for drinking water, waste water and chemical toilet. A small menu in the site's own bistro, no star cuisine but very tasty and reasonably priced. Unfortunately only 16 seats inside, reservations not possible, but drinks, including good Moselle wines, at moderate prices. In the immediate vicinity (approx. 200 meters) Aldi and Rewe (the bakery is also open on public holidays) and a pizzeria. Next door is the large modern Moselbad, said to be very good, but not tested by us. Not suitable for a relaxing vacation in our opinion. Deposit 25,00 € at reservation will be credited, but not the reservation fee 2,50 €. Electricity € 3.00 per day, showers free of charge. W-LAN (moderate charge) on the entire site, somewhat slow when fully occupied.
