This was our first stay in one of the cottages while we prepare for our caravan winter storage also at Le Picard. The weather was fairly typical for late October; it rained at night and sunshine during the day. We felt very relaxed enjoying the pretty views from all the windows. As always, we enjoyed the self catering aspect of our stay eating and drinking the local Normandie produce.

An enjoyable stay in a calm and relaxing environment.
The cottage was very comfortable and we slept very well. It was immaculately clean on arrival and well resourced with everything we would require for a longer stay too. As the evenings were drawing in earlier after the clocks changed we were grateful to find the main english channels on the TV. The cottage was cosy and warm with efficient heating which we could easily control. The shower was strong and efficient. We would book again.

Regarding the night lighting, it is intentionally limited as we use solar-powered lights in order to reduce... light pollution and help preserve the local wildlife in the countryside. However, you are right that during autumn, when daylight hours are shorter, the lighting can be a little less intense.

Impossible to park next to the mobile home, number 37, you had to park 50 meters away, and when it rains to unload stuff it's no fun ....dommage. and not much outside lighting in the alleys at night.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. However, we would like to make a few clarifications:

👉 Regarding parking, all holidaymakers who have stayed in this mobile home have parked about 25 meters away (not 50). This does not prevent parking next to the cottage to unload.... In your case you nevertheless left your car next to your cottage even though it encroached on the access path - which is forbidden for safety reasons, but we didn't say anything thinking you had difficulty walking.

👉 For the TV, tap or shower: if it was really "infernal", why didn't you report it to us? We're not soothsayers, but we always intervene quickly (as we did from day one). The cottage is equipped with a bath heater, so it's normal not to turn on the hot water in the kitchen while someone is taking a shower. In fact, you're the only ones this season to complain about this.

👉 As for the pool: it wasn't dirt, but simply the waterline, marked by the repeated use of sunscreen and the absence of showering before swimming. The rest of the pool was perfectly clean, and will be repainted as every year at closing time.

Finally, we note with a certain smile that, despite all these criticisms, you left telling us that "it was good": the tranquillity, the setting, the kindness and the cleanliness. So thank you for letting off steam in writing, which reminds us that it's easier to criticize from behind a screen than face-to-face 😉

WIFI !!! A wifi connection in which you can only, if you are lucky and have a lot of time available, get your mail in, is out of date. That you can't do full streaming is acceptable, but there is a mile between that and what you have now. If that means you have to pay a little more per day, I would be happy to pay that for it

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback and for your kind words about the cleanliness, facilities, and location of your mobile home.

Regarding the Wi-Fi, we understand your comments: we are currently looking into improvements to make the connection more stable. However,... our goal will remain to provide access mainly for checking emails or light browsing, not for streaming. Staying with us is meant to be a time to disconnect and enjoy a real holiday.

As for the size, your mobile home reserved is 31m². We have already hosted families of 6 people for two-week stays without negative feedback about the space. Of course, it is not a holiday cottage but a mobile home, which is part of the camping experience — living more outdoors and closer to nature. To give another perspective: the previous guests stayed in the very same mobile home with just 2 people and rated their experience a 10/10, which shows that the feeling of space is very subjective.

We are delighted that you enjoyed the terrace and the sunshine on your pitch, and we look forward to welcoming you again.

The site is quiet, clean, well run, and perfectly located to discover all that Normandy has to offer. Delphine and Laurent are great hosts, were very informative and both speak excellent English - which to our shame, was most welcome. I highly recommend Le Picard and all being well, we will definitely return.

As far as WiFi is concerned, we're currently looking into ways... of improving it for next season. As for 4G reception... unfortunately, that depends on the operators, and we haven't got the hang of it (yet!) 😅

Concerning the swimming pool, it is indeed heated to 26°C, a temperature we chose because it represents a good balance between swimming... comfort, respect for the environment and energy efficiency. It's true that when it's hot outside, the water may seem cooler by comparison, but it remains at an ideal temperature for a pleasant, invigorating swim.

Concerning the pool surround, it's not a liner, but a concrete surface. This will be completely repainted this winter to restore its impeccable appearance. Unfortunately,... the current traces of greenery are mainly due to sunscreen residues and the fact that some bathers don't systematically take a shower before entering the water, despite the recommendations.

Peaceful rural location with a nice pool and excellent facilities. Not far from Bayeux and Arromanches which are both well worth day trips. The site’s bathroom area was exceptionally clean. Run by a friendly couple.Our favourite site of this trip.
