Great, well-equipped campsite near the beach - ideal for families
We stayed at the campsite in July 2025 with our caravan - two adults and two children. Overall, we liked the campsite very much. There are lots of shady pitches under pine trees, everything is well looked after, the staff are friendly and the leisure facilities are extensive. We particularly liked the... swimming pool and the beautiful Atlantic beach. Even though there is a lot of entertainment and program, it was always very quiet on our pitch as we had our pitch right in the middle between the two "hotspots" of the entertainment (in the reception area and by the swimming pool). From 11 pm onwards, there was also a reliable night's sleep.
The sanitary facilities were modern, clean and cleaned regularly. A little unusual: there is no separation between the ladies' and men's areas - but that didn't bother us personally. Hand soap was only available outside at the sinks.
The swimming pool was great - with current channel, slide, wave pool etc. The restaurant/snack bar was okay, but not exactly cheap. The small store with a good selection and fresh baguettes in the morning was practical.
But the best thing for us was the wide, natural sandy beach with the powerful Atlantic waves. It takes about 15 minutes to walk there. The lifeguards in the supervised area were attentive and present (which is important with these waves and currents).

Mixed feelings
We were initially received nicely by a half Dutch speaking man who gave us directions. Later that day, when we went back to the reception to ask for directions to the center, my friend spoke to the same Dutch-speaking man who (probably) did not hear her. To that she said to me ''I don't think he hears... me". Then asked a French-speaking woman but due to the language barrier that didn't go smoothly but after a brief explanation we went on our way anyway. Once just at the exit, the male employee came up behind us and started yelling at us without reciprocating that he didn't like our behavior because we had run away. And he warned us! So there we were with a daughter who was upset by this and we couldn't get a word in edgewise because of the noise of the man! No further comments on the other staff on or about the stay. However, everything is very French-oriented so that was a shame, especially for our daughter.

Beautiful place
Still very busy at the end of August, there were only a few places left. Nice swimming pool and indoor pool. No water taps and no waste water points on the pitch. WLAN too expensive and poor connection quality. Quite far to the beach.

Dear vacationer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed our indoor swimming pool with wave lagoon and wild river. We have a dump station for campervans at the entrance to the campsite. There is also a crawl space in the campground restrooms.
We... have improved the wifi so that we can offer a better service.

Our house is located 800 meters from the beach in an ideal location in the shade of pine trees and close to stores. Our vacationers appreciate this perfect setting for a vacation without a car.

...unfortunately very loud, and that until 23:00 daily
We were here with two children (6/9) in July, the location to the sea and the swimming pool are great. The noise of the numerous young people on the site every day until 23:00 is annoying. The campsite has numerous shady spots, a small supermarket with pharmacy prices, but Lacanau-ocean can be reached... by bike in 5 minutes. Nice place, characterized by the surfing scene. The beach with its waves is within easy reach. We met nice people and the children loved the swimming pool with its numerous slides, a wild river and the wave pool. Update: We've been here every year now and the place has become our second home. The initially annoying noise level has turned out to be less serious on our later pitches. We will be coming here one or two more times in the next few years.
