Camping in the olive grove - top equipped
The campsite is located on a spacious bay with a view of the Mani and 10 minutes' drive from the pretty town of Gythio. A probably centuries-old olive grove has been converted into a campsite here, creating a unique atmosphere. The site is huge, but even in July it is only about 1/3 full, giving the... impression of spaciousness rather than crowds. The pitches on the edge (yellow area when booking online) tend to be a little more occupied than those in the middle, although these are no less beautiful. Spontaneous arrivals seem to be possible without any problems (for campers). One pitch is 4 olive tree lengths long and therefore offers plenty of space for a large tent, a large parking space and a spacious seating area. The sanitary facilities are exceptionally well equipped and always clean. There are rainforest showers and LED mirrors. There are also new washing machines, a cooking area with free fridges (including freezers), a bar, a restaurant (mediocre, but food is available around the clock), a small mini market (more bathing utensils than food) and a souvenir store with local products. There are also water hoses / showers for boats / after bathing, storage facilities for SUPs / sails. Nothing is missing. The pool is not the nicest, but there is a slide for the kids and free sun loungers. The beach is very large and empty, a few turtle nests are protected (information stand at the restaurant in the evening). Entrance through a barrier that can be opened with a card. The basses from the neighboring bar and the occasional noise from the road to Gythio were a little annoying, otherwise it is heavenly quiet, deeply relaxing and pure nature. A lovely detail: man-made privacy screens and shading are naturally overgrown and not artificial. We found the staff to be very attentive and friendly. Thank you for the great days and this feel-good place!

Pitches too small
Beautiful place in an olive grove
A great place in itself but the pitches are far too small for motorhomes.
The pitches are almost at the front of the beach but very narrow.
You can look directly at the other families' plates from the motorhome or stand window to window.
The pitch we were on offered no privacy.
There were caravans on... the pitch but I don't think you have a chance of getting a pitch without a reservation.
Unfortunately, we had the smoke from cooking in the taverna on our pitch every evening.
The showers and toilets are very clean, but the showers are very narrow and small.
The beach is large and wide, great for families with children.
We didn't eat out. Unfortunately, the small store doesn't sell any fruit or vegetables.

Good place with small flaws.
Very nice on the pebble beach with its own sun loungers and sun protection (if you are early enough). Beautiful pitches under olive trees, but only for tents and small vans. Womo pitches small. Sanitary facilities ok, good store, average food.

Camping in the olive grove
Camping under olives
In the low season it was very empty and we were able to camp in the huge olive grove with our bus (there are spaces for large motorhomes/caravans at the front). Sanitary ok. Directly on the beach.

Great campsite, would love to come back
Although the campsite is quite large, most of the pitches are only suitable for tents, as these are located under the olive trees. Close to the beach, i.e. behind the fence described above, there are pitches for caravans and in the next 'row' there are pitches for motorhomes. As we were there before... the main season, we had a free choice and chose a pitch under the matted frames (the ones for motorhomes). We had electricity and water on site. You can buy bread for breakfast and other small items for your daily needs in the kiosk. However, the selection is somewhat limited. You can eat well in the adjoining restaurant for very little money. If you want to spend the night, in June you might be lucky enough to see turtles landing and laying their eggs in the sand (the animals are protected, so I won't comment on their behavior here). The sanitary facilities are functional and were always spotlessly clean during our stay. So far, this has been one of the best campsites we have been to, with a great sandy beach stretching far into the sea. The price/performance ratio was absolutely right. Highly recommended...

I have been to Meltemi 3 times (always in a tent) and have always been satisfied. Beautiful tent pitches and, outside the high season, sufficiently large and clean sanitary facilities. Good self-service restaurant on site. Gythion is still very Greek. High season prices are borderline.

Even though the campsite usually has very good reviews here, I can only share them to a limited extent. During our stay (August 19/20) there were absolutely too few of the outdated but clean sanitary facilities. Waiting times were common at all times of the day. Hot water was not always available. There... were almost no drinks and only a few food items in the store. I definitely recommend stocking up in Gythion beforehand. The motorhome pitches under the mat roofs are far too small, even for smaller motorhomes. If you can manage the height, it is better to camp under the olive trees on the unparceled rear part of the site. The beach, which is separated from the campsite by a fence, is clean and gently sloping. A swimming pool does not make a great campsite.... F.D.

Very well managed campsite, the cleaning of the toilet facilities is exemplary, you feel very comfortable there and if you need help, they immediately look at how they can support us (e.g. doctor).

The main part of the campsite itself is surrounded by olive trees, mostly for tent campers only. The front part of the site is under pine trees and blocked by GR permanent campers. There are shelters for motorhomes, but they are very narrow. A camper van with awning is just about enough. The very beautiful... sandy beach is separated from the site by a fence (hedge). The sanitary facilities are clean but there is no hot water later in the day. The (self-service) restaurant on site has a small menu and is good. We liked it, and the price/performance ratio was completely fine. The supermarket on site has a good range of products, larger supermarkets are within easy reach (1.5km) and easy to reach by bike. Unfortunately, the mini market at the campsite itself has no fruit and vegetables. The road cannot be heard from our location and neither of the two beach bars can be heard from the motorhome pitch. Dogs and WiFi are free here. Leisure facilities are also available and there is also a pool. Campers can use the kitchen and fridge in a separate building. For price/performance absolutely top place.
