Swimming Lake

Convivial, friendly.

Close the bottom kitchen cabinets to keep mice out, or install extra shelves above the kitchen. Offer a slightly wider selection. Leave the shade cloths hanging: they’re difficult for older people to hang, and climbing onto a table or chair is dangerous. L140 doesn’t have a dustpan and brush.

The lake, the charming villages, and the markets in the area are highly regarded. The sandwiches are described as excellent.

The private restroom facilities by the lake are outdated, and the regular restroom facilities by the small lake are also described as outdated. A second laundry area by that part of the lake is desired.

The spray park, wading pool, and swimming lake receive positive reviews. The new restroom facility also receives praise, and the private restrooms are considered excellent.

The pool could be improved with a retractable roof and a sunbathing area; right now, sound echoes and it’s very noisy. The patio could also be made more attractive, and longer hours of operation and a better selection of camping supplies would be welcome.

The friendly atmosphere, the camaraderie, and the friendly staff are highly appreciated.

The restaurant could be a bit more spacious. A damaged floor near the slide is also mentioned as an area for improvement.

The focus on children, the courtyards, and the activities are appreciated. The area is great for biking. When a pipe burst at 4:30 a.m., help arrived very quickly.

Private restrooms are important; a window and storage space are missing. The area between the climbing walls could be vacuumed more often. The store is small and has limited hours. The small lake has very little water and is dirty because of the guests. The pool area lacks an outdoor section.

The facilities—especially the bathrooms—are highly rated, including the use of rainwater and a pellet stove. The staff is friendly, and the theater show is fun. Germany is just a short bike ride away, and Nordhorn is a charming little town.

A drain should be installed next to every faucet at the campsites. Free high-speed Wi-Fi could be included in the price. The entertainment could be improved; the show is too long, and the store could be expanded.

The entertainment team offers plenty of activities for the children, and the hospitality is much appreciated.

A fence or gate near the private restrooms would prevent people from walking through to other fields. The store could also be larger and offer a wider selection.

The playground and the nearby woods are mentioned positively.

Cars should not be allowed on the field. The campground store is open for a short time, and the pool should be open longer.

No downsides

Our two girls, ages 4 and 5, have fun all day long! In the morning, the entertainment team picks them up at a quarter to 10 to dance and do crafts! (There are also all kinds of activities in the afternoon.) The entertainment team is incredibly fun and sweet with the kids. The rest of the staff at the campground is super friendly! They always ask if everything is to your liking and always wave goodbye just as warmly. They also maintain the grounds really well—it always looks immaculate. The pool is wonderful and, above all, CLEAN. Even on the busiest days, the water stays clean! The playgrounds (indoor and outdoor) are great for the kids! There’s also a fishing pond (with apparently big carp)! The swimming lake is large too, with plenty of space for the kids to play in the water and sand! The little store isn’t big, but you can find everything you need there. The private bathroom facilities are a huge plus. It’s not big, but you have your own toilet, shower, and sink! Really great! In short, the kids never get bored here, and Mom and Dad can relax and take it easy too! So we’ll definitely be back next year!
