In the middle of Ile de Ré
After we had received 13 telephone cancellations for a caravan pitch at the start of the low season on the Ile de Ré, we were told here: "You're welcome to come by, we still have a few places available."

We were allowed to choose one of the many free pitches. The individual pitches are usually separated... from each other by high (approx. 2.7 m) hedges. Many tall (deciduous and coniferous) trees provide shade and create a very harmonious picture. The driveways (not laid out at right angles but very organically) are asphalted and the pitches are very level and on grass and sandy ground. There is plenty of space for maneuvering with a caravan and trailer.

The sanitary facilities are no longer new, but are always spotlessly clean. And unlike on most campsites, the shower cubicles are of a decent size where you can dry off and get dressed. However, you have to bring your own toilet paper.

The pool area is divided into two parts for swimmers (up to 1.55 m) and for children (slide, paddling pool etc.). There is a sauna right next to the pool. A restaurant at the CP provides fresh baguettes and a limited selection of fast food. Daily changing dishes (e.g. "Moules et Frites" on Wednesdays) and ice cream sundaes at fair prices complete the picture.

The reception is friendly and helpful.

Overall, the site is in a very quiet location, right next to fields and woods. Walks and cycle tours start directly from the campsite. The nearest town is approx. 3.5 km away and the nearest large supermarket is approx. 6 km away. The beautiful beach "Plage de Gros Joncs" is approx. 3.5 km away. The good network of cycle paths on the Ile de Ré is largely flat and asphalted. On foot, however, you are "far away from everything".

In short: The campsite is recommended for people looking for peace and quiet, but also for families with children in the high season (approx. €46). We will definitely be back (in low season approx. €24).
