Not just a good place to pass through
A great spot for a stopover, but also perfect for a few relaxing days in the Altmühl Valley! It might be a bit boring for kids, though, since there’s hardly anything for them to do.

Místo je velmi čisté a personál je velmi přátelský!

Po celém areálu jsou psí boudy, jejichž páníčci bohužel nemají své psy pod kontrolou! Což je velmi, velmi nepříjemné.
Dovolená
Samotný kemp se nachází na opravdu skvělém místě přímo u řeky Altmühl. Ideální pro pěší turistiku a cykloturistiku.

Conveniently located
We booked the site for an overnight stopover as it is conveniently located on the A9. There are also two supermarkets to choose from within walking distance. The pitches are good sized but only have electricity. No water and waste water connection. Due to the construction site at the moment very dirty and bumpy access, you could point this out when booking!!!!

The gates of the fences on the pitches are not suitable for small dogs as they have large gaps.
Dog-friendly campsite
Nice clean campsite with a small beer garden on the grounds, pizzeria and kebab around the corner.
Diagonally opposite is a Norma and behind it an unfortunately not well thought out and expensive Edeka.
A 5-minute walk to the market square. There are lots of beautiful hiking trails all around, leading to castles, ruins and the summit cross.
A very dog-friendly campsite with dog showers, many spacious fenced pitches especially for dog owners.

Very friendly staff. Very accommodating with requests regarding pitches (next to each other). If you report a defect, it is taken care of immediately.
Negativa
The showers lack a small basket or board where you can put your shower gel and hair shampoo. Or even a hook for towels at the washbasin.
Long weekend over Corpus Christi
We were here for the first time last year in June and were happy to return this year. The campsite is in a very beautiful and quiet location, directly on the Altmühl with water access and very friendly staff.
It is an ideal starting point for cycling tours and hikes.
The nearby supermarket and town center complete the good vacation feeling.

Natural site, beautiful location directly on the Altmühl, there are sunny and shady pitches, a sanitary building (for pitches in the front part) is new.

A place that grows
You can enjoy a quiet and relaxed stay here. The staff are all friendly and courteous. All the sanitary facilities were always clean and tidy, even though the site was very busy. We liked the huge, fenced-in areas for dog owners. A great idea!

If you like, you can swim or canoe in the Altmühl. Boat... rental and jetty available.
It was very hot during our vacation here. So we tried out the Limes outdoor pool. It's a 15-minute walk away and really recommended. You can also check out late and there are places to stay overnight in front of the barrier!

We spent our May 1st camp at the AZUR Camping Altmühltal Kipfenberg campsite in Bavaria. We received a very friendly welcome, got a pitch near the sanitary facilities on request, the pitches are also large. As an ACSI / CC member we also got the pre-season discount.
In general:

The new dog parking spaces. Great idea. NORMA market within walking distance. Nice staff. There was a pack of dentasticks for the dogs. Departure in the low season 10am is not seen narrowly - until noon also ok.

OFF-PEAK SEASON: Reception only open in the morning. Arrival only from 3pm! But the janitor sorted it out. "Go where there is space". WLAN only at reception, not on the whole site. Snack bar was closed - no indication on the website 5 out of 7 toilets and showers locked. Shower has too small a partition - everything that should stay dry gets wet. Apart from the central garbage station, no garbage cans on the pitch. 10 EURO per dog per day, but not even dog waste bags. Power boxes outdated (6 ampere and Schuko sockets on the box - I had an adapter with me. Is actually forbidden). No indication on the website. Adapter could have been borrowed. During the "lunch break" (13 - 15h) the staff was busy cutting greenery with loud machines. Outside at the edge of the forest relatively loud. Garbage disposer in the immediate vicinity and above the country road

Beautiful campsite
We were spontaneously looking for a pitch for one night and found what we were looking for at this site. The staff at reception were very friendly, the sanitary facilities were all clean and modern and you could choose your own pitch.
Open fires are permitted on this site. The smell of charcoal barbecues and open campfires was a little annoying, although not seriously bad.

Beautiful location
The campsite is beautifully situated directly on the Altmühl. The site is well-kept and clean. The sanitary facilities are relatively new but unfortunately a bit carelessly designed. The shower cubicles are too small and there is no shelf for shower gel, etc. They are reminiscent of a public swimming... pool. I would have liked a little more comfort here. The staff were extremely friendly. The paths to the pitches are only paved in some cases, which makes it difficult to drive in bad weather.
Kipfenberg, which is within walking distance, is definitely worth a visit and has great restaurants.

Beautiful campsite
We chose this site after hearing that the sanitary facilities had been renovated. That's true, everything is great. However, if the place is really full in the main season, it can be tight.
The campsite has a beautiful tree population in the front area. Sat reception can be poor here. It is certainly... better towards the back, but there is also sun there. Although plots are shown on the site plan, I couldn't find them in reality. You can see this as an advantage or disadvantage, as you like.
What we did notice, however, was that the barriers were always open and cars were driving on the pitch late in the evening. What's more, some people were also driving quite fast in their cars. There are also overnight barrels and tents on stilts in the front area. If you're standing nearby and you're unlucky enough to have a troupe of girls invade, the night can be very short (as it was for us).

Short vacation
We have been coming here several times a year over the weekend for a number of years now, and enjoy the location and spacious pitches.
This year's new fenced-in pitches for dog owners. They ruin the nice open impression of the rear pitches. And the barking of the dogs is annoying as you walk past.
