All the staff (reception, cleaning, sales, restaurant) were always friendly. We only had to walk 1 minute to the toilets and restaurant. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The food is also sufficient and good for a campsite.... Unfortunately we had only booked 3 nights! More next time for sure. The place is absolutely recommendable.
The electricity bill could be paid at the reception at 8:00 am and 70Ct/kWh is absolutely ok.

This time we had booked two sleeping barrels, previously we had already tested stays in a mobile home, guest room and pool house. Each type of accommodation has something special about it and we felt very comfortable each time.
All the staff are very friendly and courteous and you can buy just about anything in the small supermarket.

Very nice campsite with a well-stocked supermarket and 24/7 self-service vending machines. The wash houses are very tidy and clean. A nice pool with long usage times rounds off a pleasant stay. There is a small go-kart track for children, and suitable karts are available on the campsite.

Quiet location with great forest in the area for hiking and relaxing. There are water and waste water connections on the site as well as electricity, which you have to pay an additional €0.70/kWh. Washing machine and dryer were also available and were scheduled... via app and paid online at €3.50 each.
The play facilities for the little ones with go-karting, great playground, large outdoor pool and many other activities are really great.
There was also a bike rental service.
We didn't go to the restaurant as we had a lot of food with us, but the menu was very appealing and the prices were okay.
The proximity to the town of Soltau was also great at 6km away and only 800m to Heidepark Soltau.

The humidity in the shower rooms is too high and ventilation needs to be changed. The ventilation window in the toilets should also be open from 8 am to 10 am. And there is not enough storage... space in the washrooms. It would be better to provide a continuous surface with countertop or built-in basins and additional shelves under the mirror. And another note: the doors in the sanitary buildings all open in the wrong direction. The doors should always open outwards. It was our first time at the Auf dem Simpel campsite in Soltau - and after a short time it was clear that we would definitely be back!
The site is very well maintained, generously laid out and beautifully situated in the countryside. The pitches are spacious and well equipped, many with electricity... and water connections. The site is also ideal for children: The large playground is a real highlight and offers plenty of space to run around.
The sanitary facilities were excellent - modern, clean and easily accessible. We also found the small mini-market right on the pitch very practical, where you can get fresh bread rolls and all the essentials in the morning. And the restaurant really surprised us in a positive way: delicious food, fair prices and a cozy atmosphere - perfect after an eventful day.
The proximity to Heide Park is of course ideal, but those who just want to relax will also get their money's worth here.
An all-round successful stay - with a warm atmosphere and everything you could wish for on a relaxed camping vacation. We also think it's great, as a visitor to the campsite "Auf dem Simpel" there are many discounts for excursions, shopping (outlet 10 min away or Rewe 5,-€), harbor tour in Hamburg easily 4-8 € cheaper if you get a ticket at the reception at the campsite), bird park & Co. simply beautiful.
We always like to come back here, cozy in the evening, quiet and everything is clean.
Food Fantastic as always at the campsite's own snack bar in the evening & great value for money.

However, the operators have no (direct) influence... on this: Dear smokers: Your stench also drifts towards other campers and motorhomes. We have no interest in sharing the stench with you. So just watch the wind and where your smoke goes. So you don't have to smoke 50 cm away directly under a neighbor's open window!
There are also still ignorant people who don't change their street shoes for flip-flops in the shower area and thus spread the avoidable! dirt in the showers. Cleaning the buildings several times a day doesn't help much.
