"Disappointment - It’s not easy to write a negative review of a place that I’ve considered a second home for most of my life. But unfortunately, it’s necessary. Camping Baia Holiday Centro Turistico San Nicola di Peschici, formerly Centro Turistico San Nicola, is nestled in a stunning location, but ever since management and ownership were transferred to Baia Silvella S.p.A., it has lost that warm, family-like atmosphere that made it unique. For those who, like me, have been visiting since the ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s, it’s sad to see how much it has changed. Back when it was run by the locals of Peschici, it was always full, with affordable prices and high-quality local products. Today, many campsites remain empty, and silence has replaced the lively atmosphere of the past. During our stay, clothes, swimsuits, and underwear we’d left out to dry were stolen—twice. The biggest disappointment, however, was the management’s indifference: no apology, and only after more than a week did they show a half-hearted interest, with no real willingness to investigate the incident. The only people who took action were the security guards, who spontaneously stepped up their patrols. Prices are also very high now (4 brioches = €6). The convenience store is poorly stocked, expensive, and sells mostly packaged goods. The fruit vendor, the newsstand, and the fishmonger with the catch of the day have all disappeared; even the local dairy products have been replaced by industrial ones. The restaurant charges high-end prices, but many items, including the fish, are frozen—which is unacceptable in a seaside town. Wi-Fi is available only at the bar and restaurant. Much of the public beach has been replaced by paid beach umbrellas. What’s missing most is human warmth. The staff often comes across as cold and aloof. It’s not just nostalgia: you only need to compare the campground of yesterday with that of today to realize how much it has lost the simplicity, authenticity, and hospitality that made it special for decades.

"San Nicola - Camping has a beautiful beach. Facilities are clean. But are getting on in years. Dogs allowed. Was a nuisance during our visit. WauWau. Thank you dear dog owners. Beach very nice. Wanted to stay a week. Left after one night. Dogs and lack of internet. We already know Baia Holiday from Sardinia and have been loyal customers for 17 years. And if you complain you are still the fool.

"unfortunately nothing more is invested - Unfortunately, this beautifully situated campsite is completely neglected. Lawns are no longer mowed and bushes are no longer trimmed, which means that many pitches are no longer accessible. Sanitary facilities in desolate condition, path lighting broken and partly destroyed. Supermarket only has 30% stock, all other stores now closed. Employees accordingly motivated. A great pity for this place......

"Things are going downhill - We have been coming to this campsite at least once a year since 1986. Unfortunately, we have noticed more and more recently that very little is invested in the sanitary facilities. Everything is being repaired in a makeshift manner or simply locked. The appearance is also deteriorating. The weeds are growing diligently. Even if you want to move into your reserved pitch, you still have to make sure that it looks reasonably tidy. We have therefore decided to avoid this otherwise beautiful site for the time being.

"Written reservation not kept! - 3 hours before arrival we were informed by phone that our reserved and confirmed parking space in the first row could not be kept due to a booking error. The alternatives we were offered in the first row could not be taken because of the size of the camper van. Such machinations border on impertinence. We left the campsite after just 3 days because we were not satisfied with our situation. Sanitary facilities are outdated but always kept clean. Beach nice, but when fully booked it gets very crowded....

"beautiful vacation spot - Beautifully situated in its own bay. Parceled pitches, some of which are shaded. Sanitary facilities are tidy and well maintained. The facilities on site are adequate and the restaurant offers good, simple cuisine
