Excursion site for Northern Ireland
Very easy to reach from Dublin. The access road to the campsite is in a traffic-calmed zone with very high speed bumps. The CP is ideal for excursions. For example, Belfast is only 30 km away, Giant's Causeway approx. 70 km. The campsite is very well run and has a high level of security. The barrier... access and the use of the sanitary buildings is only possible with your own access code. It was a pity that the facilities in the reception building, such as the TV room and dishwashing facilities, could only be used for a limited time. After 9pm it becomes almost impossible because the entrances are already electronically blocked and the staff are off duty. Otherwise, the site is very clean, tidy and quiet. The pitches are very long and on asphalt, the car has to be parked in front of the camper van. However, the grass between the pitches can be used for a table and chairs, for example. The city center of Antrim is within walking distance of the CP in 20 minutes. However, the town of Antrim is rather boring (few sights) and apart from shopping facilities only offers fast food outlets (very good though) and drinking pubs with billiards. Despite an intensive search, we didn't find a restaurant (all the former restaurants are closed). There is a water sports center and a golf course right next to the campsite.
