Situated by a pond in the middle of a mixed forest, the campsite has considerable differences in altitude, but the pitches, some of which are terraced, are perfectly level. There are several toilet containers, but only one central sanitary building in the middle of the spacious site.
Everything looks... a little provisional or unfinished.
Contact is made by telephone, then you are given a second number to call on arrival. Payment is made in cash without a receipt or similar.
The sanitary building has a new roof including a roof truss, but underneath it there is a lot of electrical wiring from the GDR era. The shower areas have curtains and no(!) partition to the neighbor. Here, too, the pipes look like they were patched together from scraps by an apprentice plumber at the weekend.
In general, many things here need an update, including the website. Electricity is charged at a flat rate and what looks like a beach on the map is actually a reed-covered bank with a 5m wide access to the lake.
In the middle of the site is a large playground with a chess board and table tennis table; if no one is playing here, the ubiquitous squirrels run around. You can also spot woodpeckers and other wild birds. It is also interesting to see how "permanent camping" is still practiced here. A caravan, an awning, 80m² tarp over it, done! For cycling, we recommend the nearby Dahlener Heide or the roads in between. They are narrow, but relatively little frequented.

Conclusion: the site has a certain charm, but you shouldn't expect too much. It's okay for a long weekend, but not for a 2 or 3 week vacation.

After all the possible activities, you can relax wonderfully and experience pure nature or just let your mind wander. Even after 25 years it hasn't become boring! That's why we like to come back again and again.

If you're tired of the stress and noise of the city, this is the place for you. The lake invites you to swim in good weather. Those who prefer hiking/walking are just as well catered for here as those who are simply looking for peace and relaxation.

This is my 21st season there. If you like peace and quiet, nature, swimming and hiking, this is the place for you. A new era has obviously begun with the new site management. Come and have a look!
