That changed abruptly after our visit. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back soon!
Campsite:
Very nice campsite right on... the lake. The lake is very clean and it was great for our son to play in as the gradient of the lake is very shallow and therefore good for non-swimmers.
The mini market is well stocked and has everything you need.
Shower, private bathroom, bath, kitchen:
The sanitary facilities were very clean and new. The private bathroom was awesome and worth the extra charge. Toilet, shower washbasin.
The public showers were also very clean, we used them on the last day.
Surroundings:
The "shopping street" is 1.5km away

We were there with a group of three families, three of whom were there with buses and we were there with our tent. We asked at check-in if we could put our tent on the pitches with our friends - there was more... than enough space and in the rainy weather it would have saved us the long walks from the campsite to the pitches with two small children across the campsite as we always ate together etc. We were denied this on the grounds that we were not allowed to pitch our tent. We were denied this on the grounds that no tents were allowed on the pitches so that the grass wouldn't turn yellow. However, almost every caravan there has huge awnings, some of which are free-standing, almost twice the size of our tent and also standing on the grass. Unfortunately the kiosk was only open twice in 7 days at the end of July at the beginning of August on the sunbathing lawn, which was simply too little and not as described. It was also a pity that every morning at 8:00 a.m. or earlier... someone always dismantled around us, which had more the character of a pitch so unfortunately it was never possible to sleep in. 2x after 21:45 no more electricity in the sanitary building so showering either not at all or with the light from the cell phone (unfortunately you pay for this anyway) otherwise the place is very nice. The prices in the mini-market are simply outrageous, as are the prices in the restaurant (and the fact that you don't even get the food packaged to take back to your pitch is downright cheeky). The wash houses are quite new and also... clean, but the rain showers may be chic, but they are useless for really taking a shower. Very pleasant site, always clean showers and toilets. Rarely seen such a clean and "well-mannered" site. The direct access to Pilsensee is an absolute dream. No long lugging of water utensils.
Our only criticism would be that when... the weather is nice, a lot of "non-campers" come to the site as day guests (?) to spend the day at the lake. As far as we know, there are several bathing access points to the lake, even outside the campsite. These should be left to the campers. It quickly gets very crowded here when the weather is nice. What we particularly liked: the turquoise blue water of the lake, your shop, the kiosk, the spacious and clean showers/toilets, and the two 24/7 vending machines with chilled beer. Great service ;-)
We also liked... the automated check-in/out, on arrival you were completely free as long as you arrived by 10pm. We had a lot of fun with the SUP course and then riding. All the staff were always super friendly and helpful.
We would love to come back, and for longer!

The location is wonderful, the sanitary facilities are very well maintained and the staff are very friendly.
However, the booking process has become... more difficult, especially if you want to book contiguous pitches as a group after the booking window has opened: in addition to the rising prices, the number of minimum nights (minimum stay of 5 nights for pitches, mobile homes 7) has been increased in the system since this year, which has meant that we have not been able to use any of the 7 booked pitches and sleeping barrels for the full time (partly because of school-age children). When we asked, we were told that the minimum number would be reduced again in the new year and that there was still capacity available. This may make sense for individual bookers, but from the point of view of a regular group - which we have been for many years - this is extremely difficult. We feel sorry for the operator of the Seehütten who had to bridge the gap, especially as pizza evenings are now also on offer.
Very good, the additional container toilet and shower down at... the playground, tent meadow. The new soccer pitch is also good for kids.
We have been coming here for years because of the boathouse, SUP and kayak hire!!! From time to time we stayed in the sleeping barrels, now for the first time in the top mobile home.
Cafe to go is the burner in the mini market. The sale of rolls or other goods is too short and takes too long because of all the coffee preparation. At last you can book a pitch for 2 or 2.5 weeks at a time relatively close to the lake. Previously it wasn't possible because short-term visitors always blocked it. Anyone who wants to spend a longer vacation with you now has the chance without having to move all the time.... 👍 The opening hours at the kiosk at the front on the meadow are somewhat arbitrary and cannot be planned (a pity). Sanitary facilities great, reception very friendly and helpful and Caro always very nice and attentive. Small, small minus point. The amount of water used by the men in the toilet at all 3 washbasins is very, very sparse. We will be back in September and have already booked. Unfortunately the weather didn't play along in the first week, but that's nobody's fault. We also had a private bathroom again, so please check the ventilation. Another suggestion for the sinks: maybe you could install draining grids over the sinks, as some guests are... not so keen on cleanliness.
The cleaning staff come often enough, but they can't clean after everyone, and the same applies to the toilets. It's the guests who leave these places like this!
And if people get upset about children shouting, dogs barking or geese chattering, relax, that's part of it.

Reason: the time spent at the counter would be wasted.
Apart from the staff, the campsite only has advantages. Spacious, great access to electricity and water, perfectly accessible sanitary facilities, great restaurant, beautiful gardens, individually selectable pitches with shade, in the forest or under the open sky, quiet, recommendable power place.

Very courteous team, beautiful location on the lake. Very spacious pitch (gravel and grass). The sanitary building welcomes guests with a great ambience, lots of light and clean all round. With the Campingcard you get a small bathroom for yourself, so to speak (there is a washbasin... and shower in the cabin).
There is a shop on site with fresh bread rolls. In the evening you can enjoy a delicious meal in the restaurant by the lake. Experience the sunset, seating right on the water.

The restaurant was not closed, unfortunately we could not test it. But there is a Bräustüberl and an Italian restaurant nearby. Otherwise you have to drive, although the nearest destinations are not far away.

Maybe you could put some garbage bags on the square where you could throw away the daily garbage?
We didn't mind, but we heard from several new arrivals that the way to the waste disposal facility was too far for them!
