The location of the site is great for cycling tours and hikes in the Rhine Valley. The nearest town, St. Goar, can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes, where there are good places to stop for refreshments and a jetty. Bread roll service and store on site. Staff provide information about activities. The food in the restaurant belonging to the place is recommendable.

We were on the pitch for 5 days on Corpus Christi. We were lucky and could occupy a place in the 1st row, unfortunately we had to realize the following negative, you can not sleep at night as well as the noise of the trains, on both sides of the square. was not acceptable for us if we had not had tickets for the concert (Peter Maffay) we would have left! The passing ships are nice to look at but spread a noticeable smell / stench due to their diesel engines, which should be taken into account when choosing a place. The operator is not responsible for this. The main road also leads directly past the site, which increases the noise level even more. The place was full / overcrowded from Thursday onwards, which led to chaotic conditions due to the free choice of pitches, the paths to the toilet or shower turned out to be a walk through a labyrinth Cables were laid arbitrarily and became a tripping hazard at night. The operator was not interested in this in any way, someone has to fall here first, the small toilet/shower blocks are completely outdated and were only cleaned superficially or not at all during our stay, which was proven by a stain on the mirror, hot water was only available occasionally, fortunately the showers were free. On departure there was only one person present which led to a waiting time of 40 minutes if we hadn't been at the office early it would have cost us another day at this overpriced site. We won't be visiting the site again, because here merit comes before comfort.
Rest can be found elsewhere
We will not visit the place again, too noisy no relaxing possible.

Top location, but lots of expansion potential
The site has a fantastic location directly on the Rhine and the view is unique. As the railroad line runs through a tunnel opposite, it is also relatively quiet compared to other sites on the Rhine. On arrival, take a map and look for a pitch yourself, then register. That's a good thing, even from the... back seats you can still get a good view of the Rhine. There is a store with bread rolls and lots of other things.
The sanitary facilities were okay for the ladies. However, the men's toilet paper was often missing. The whole place looks like a building site, many things have been started but nothing looks really finished. We were on the site 7 years ago when the sanitary building was still a ruin, now it is almost finished. Payment is only possible in cash, a bit strange these days.

Hello,

first of all the positive things: the entrance is well done, the staff are very friendly and the pitches directly on the Rhine are very nice.
But now: the sanitary facilities are very, very old and it smells very unpleasant.
It is being renovated, but only the most necessary is being done, so... the condition will certainly not improve. Hot water was not always available.
The individual sani huts, which are still scattered around the site, are in a miserable condition.
We will not be visiting this site again

Beautiful campsite in a perfect location
It was our first time at this campsite and we really liked it.
You drive up to the barrier, take a card, look for a pitch and then register. Quick and uncomplicated.
The staff are very friendly.
As we arrived at lunchtime, all the pitches right by the water were occupied. However, we found another nice... spot.
There is W LAN for 0.50 euros per day and we had very good reception at our pitch.
The only downside is the number of toilets and showers.
In the main wash house there are 4! toilets and 7 showers in the ladies' area. One of the showers was also broken.
As the place was very full, you sometimes had to queue for quite a long time. This should be urgently improved.
Apart from that, you shouldn't be too sensitive to noise as the trains, ships and the road are very audible, especially at night.
However, this didn't bother us and we will definitely be back.

On the banks of the Rhine, large campsite, view of the river, grass field, opposite Loreley. Nice reception, as long as you remember to press the button at the gate. You can choose a place, after which you pay at the reception. Friendly caravans around. Good shop - even caravan supplies, restaurant across the road. New toilets and showers, free of charge. Car maintenance Ok. You can order bread for the morning.

Really full in August, but we got in without a reservation at 4 p.m. Few electric places in relation to the area's size. The electricity works well if you can get a spot, and up to 70 m of cable is enough. The spots are not limited much, so each camper's own ideas are the guide.

One of the nicest places in Germany. Rhine and greenery. Been here before in 2015. The area has been renewed. A lot of points for reception, even if you don't understand what button to press. Clarifying the instructions to the gate would make it easier for those arriving. Electric points should definitely be increased.

Electricity consumption rip-off
On arrival our power column did not work, according to the groundsman we should simply connect to the neighboring column. It took forever until that worked. The groundsman didn't bother to just go along and have a look at the whole thing.
We only stayed one night as the noise from the boats and the train... was very annoying at night.
The shock came at the checkout.... 17.00 € for electricity.
In comparison: we only had to pay €8.00 for 2 nights at the next campsite! Absolute cheek.

Very nice C-course directly on the Rhine
A beautiful place right on the Rhine. The best conditions for a feel-good factor.
But unfortunately the cleanliness and tidiness leaves a lot to be desired.
Sanitary very dirty, moldy and also nice shower curtains. If you look up while showering, you only have one wish, get out of here quickly!!!
Everywhere... on the place dirty spots and disorder.
Supply and disposal is an imposition, impudence. Everything is full of dirt and it smells disgusting.

I praise Croatian campsites for that. I've never experienced anything like it there.

What a pity. But here the economic aspect seems to be absolutely paramount.

Unfortunately, it works because of the location!

The location of the campsite is unbeatable. Great view of the Rhine, St. Goar within walking distance. Hiking and cycling tours can be started perfectly from the campsite. Mini market, cake and bread roll service available.
Negativa
We arrived on Ascension Day and had some trouble finding a pitch in the afternoon. The reception staff had no idea how full the place was. Overall it was very full, queue to check out, queue to get bread rolls. Only one sanitary building. Far too few showers and toilets for such a large site. There are individual small houses scattered around the site, each with one shower and one toilet. Not recommended, they are very old. A shower curtain is not really hygienic either. The operator of the site should be happy to use his income to modernize the sanitary building and build another one. It was also packed when we were washing up. We therefore went to one of the small houses. It was very dirty there and there was only cold water for washing up.

There were none where we were standing
A beautiful place
We weren't actually as disappointed with the pitch as some of the users before us who have vented their anger here. We were close to the central sanitary facilities and they were modern and always clean. However, some electrical distributors are really far apart, so that sometimes a lot of cable length... is necessary. The staff was very friendly and also the bread service and the mini store are very good!
The background noise from two railroad tracks, road and shipping is of course present, but also bearable. At night it minimizes itself anyway.
There was no shortage of pitches at our time, although the site was full.
The bottom line - a site with a wonderful backdrop opposite the Loreley and a view of the Rhine straits below !!!

The unobstructed view of the Rhine. It's simply a beautiful area and directly opposite is the Lorelei..... it doesn't get any better than this. The price is a bit expensive, but reasonable

simply too loud due to the railroad. But that's not the site's fault. Far too few sanitary facilities for the number of guests. Very unkempt (better not maintained) site. Permanent building site at the entrance for years.
Corona does not seem to exist
Unfriendly staff. On arrival, you have to look for a parking space in compliance with the corona-related distance rules. The entire site is searched for a parking space with the vehicles. The staff have no overview and are therefore unable to help. The last blade of grass was advertised as a parking... space. The highlight was that a wheel loader was parked at the construction site so that a WOMO could still be parked there. The cash register went bang.
Checking out was only possible from 10 am. Of course with the camping unit fully packed in front of the barrier. Just don't waste a cent, as it could take another half an hour to lose money.
Distance rules only existed in the registration area.
Cleaning of the sanitary facilities only from 10 am. But then we sat down and had a smoke. Everything looked accordingly with the occupancy density.

Mr. Spahn should get smart here in the fight against Corona.

The view of the Rhine and Loreley. A campsite attendant went out of his way to organize a longer power cable for me.

Train noise all night. Overcrowded pitches even during Corona. New campers are sent to the pitch at 9 am to look for a pitch. There should be a distance of 3m, but that doesn't always fit with so many motorhomes and caravans. When checking out, we were told that we had received an information sheet and that we could only check out from 10am. Due to the cash payment there was no money available the evening before, but from 8:30 new people are allowed to go hunting for pitches.... .unfriendly and inflexible staff on site. Power box was 40m away, unfortunately cable shortage of about 5-10m, so self-sufficient standing for one night and get on one of the last free places!
Impossibly crowded and cash only
The campsite did not live up to its reputation. Pitch search arbitrary, distance rules 3m only partially respected. Lousy treatment at check-out, negative also only cash payment...A grade 5

Quite expensive, currently night construction site on the railroad track directly behind the CP. Very noisy at night. Few garbage cans on the site.
Very nice CP on the Rhine.
This was our 2nd time here as the first time the "Rhine in Flames" event took place and unfortunately we didn't get a place. Nice place, a little expensive but still acceptable for the location. Despite Corona, the campers are close together here but the hygiene rules are strictly adhered to.
We would definitely come again.

A very beautiful campsite in the World Heritage Site. The view of the Lorely rock is fantastic, as are the many Rhine boats that pass through the narrow section of the Lorely. The staff are very friendly and the sanitary facilities are clean. There is also a small store in reception. Unfortunately, the peace and quiet is occasionally disturbed by the railroad on the left and right bank of the Rhine.

Not recommended for the Rhine in Flames!
We were there in September 2019 and absolutely cannot recommend this place during this time (Rhine in Flames). Completely overcrowded and crammed together, also far too few toilets.

We visited the square for the first time at Whitsun 2019 for a Kelly Family concert on the Loreley opposite. The square is located at one of the most famous spots on the Rhine, but this is also its shortcoming. It is the narrowest part of the Rhine Valley, with a busy railroad line on both sides of the... river. The site is directly on the Rhine, a very long stretch. There is a large sanitary building that doesn't look particularly inviting from the outside, as it has probably been an unfinished building site for years. Inside, however, the sanitary facilities are fine. There are a few small sanitary blocks with toilets and showers along the campsite, but some of them don't look very well maintained, e.g. there are no windows. The pitches are not parceled out, but are large enough. The electricity connections are too far apart, outdated and only fused with 6A. There are also only a few water connections and the waste water and chemical drains are too far away. The positive impressions include a reasonable price, reservations are not normally necessary as there are no permanent campers on site. If the site were a little better maintained, it would be even more interesting. The location is actually perfect, the noise from the railroad is more bearable than in the even narrower Moselle valley.
