Even though everything was nice, I think €60 per night (including electricity and tourist tax) is a bit steep for a RV and two people. But we knew that going in, and it’s standard for the area.A beautiful place in a great locationThe staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The site was clean, with everything close by, and the restrooms were spotless. Trash disposal and chemical toilet disposal were hassle-free.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay.
The campground’s location is also great. It’s not far from the village, where the free bus runs. You can easily reach Scheffau, Ellmau, and Going. It would be a wonderful addition to have a place for the children to cool off in the afternoon, since the swimming pond isn’t accessible to children due to its location in the sauna garden (naturist area). The shower stalls are very spacious but can get quite warm and stuffy in some cases because there’s no air gap; this is certainly more pleasant in the winter, but better ventilation would definitely be welcome there as well. Check-out before 7 a.m. isn’t possible because the electricity meter still needs to be read. It would be great if there were a way to unplug and, if necessary, pay for electricity via a “coin-operated machine” for one night, so that guests could leave even earlier—especially during the summer months—and avoid heavy traffic.Nice little place (family with 2 children)A very nice little campground for an active vacation in the mountains. Our kids had a blast at the campground, too, since its small size makes it ideal for getting to know the neighborhood kids. We had a perfect campsite—albeit on a slight slope—right on the edge of the grounds with a direct view of... vast meadows, forests, and mountains (TC6). It’s simply beautiful! The washhouse is also spacious and modern, featuring comfortably large showers with sinks. The restaurant serves delicious food, and everyone—both in the restaurant and at the front desk—is incredibly friendly. When issues arose (a “flood” in the women’s restroom), they responded immediately, so the Franzlhof offers great service overall. We’d love it if the swimming pond were eventually made accessible to children as well. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find that information on the website, and we were briefly disappointed, since a quick dip in the afternoon is the perfect way to cool off after spending the whole day on the mountain. Check-out is possible starting at 7:00 a.m., as quiet hours are in effect at our campground from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. If you’d like to leave earlier, you can pay the day before and park in one of our emergency spots on the lawn. From there, you can leave at any time.

We do have a few small suggestions for improvement, though: Since there were so many families with children at the campground, the site could be made a bit more family-friendly overall. A play area right on the campground would be nice, since you currently have to walk around the outside of the hotel to reach the playground. In addition, restroom facilities specifically for children would be a great addition—even though the existing restrooms were very modern and always clean.
The dishwashing area could also use some modernization, and a new dishwasher would certainly be a huge help for many guests.
Despite these minor points, we really enjoyed our stay immensely. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The restroom facilities couldn’t be better.
They look brand-new and are thoroughly cleaned at least three times a day.
The restaurant, the... option to order fresh rolls for breakfast, the mini-golf course, the sauna, the large playground—everything is there; it doesn’t get any better than this.
One minor drawback is the trash disposal. The trash collection area isn’t very inviting, smells accordingly, and could use a makeover or a different approach.
But that’s just nitpicking.
