The Perfect Stopover
This campground is located right next to the highway, making it the perfect stopover (about 6 hours from the western Algarve). We felt right at home from the start. It’s a quiet, idyllic spot nestled among tall coniferous trees. Check-in at the front desk went smoothly; the young man was friendly and... spoke English. With six people and a tent, we paid only €50. You can pretty much choose any spot you like (if you want one other than the one assigned to you), and there are more than enough to choose from! Some of the sites are very large, with views of olive groves. Pine needles crunch underfoot, geckos scurry about, and cicadas sing their song in the trees—what more could you ask for? The restrooms are basic (no toilet seats), but clean, and toilet paper is provided. There’s a somewhat dated pool that offers a welcome way to cool off. The pool bar offers drinks and snacks; the restaurant was closed. However, there’s a highly recommended restaurant practically across the street with top-notch service! It serves some very unique dishes of excellent quality! Other bars and small shops are within walking distance in the village. At night, it’s very quiet except for the noise from the highway. There’s a nature park nearby that’s definitely worth a visit, even for a longer stay. For us, this was one of the best options for a stopover—thank you!

Cp with pine forest. Somewhat outdated, but easily accessible if traveling from north to south or vice versa. Small place with a high proportion of German-born inhabitants.

Conveniently located, well-equipped and quiet campsite
The campsite is located between the highway exits for S. Elena and is very easy to reach. It is therefore very suitable as a transit site. We stayed on the site for several days because we used it as a base for visiting the towns of Jaen, Ubeda and Baeza, which are all within easy reach. The site is... densely planted with tall pine trees and is therefore very shady. The pitches are spacious and most of them have their own electricity, water and waste water connections. The (open) sanitary facilities were well equipped and always well cleaned. Hot water was available after a short wait. Toilet paper and soap dispensers were available at the hand basins. There was no catering on the site during our stay. However, there is a bakery and other small stores near the campsite. It wasn't easy for us to communicate with the operator as we don't speak Spanish and he doesn't speak any foreign languages himself. Wifi is available at the pitches, but not good.

Unfriendly, poor service, mediocre pitches
Steep and narrow access road, with longer caravans, especially with a width of 2.50 m, you need to have a good feel for your fingers and feet. The reception was brusque to unfriendly and taxes plus a special levy (??) were cheekily added to the ACSI price quoted. The water taps on the pitches are particularly... eye-catching. Too low to put a watering can underneath and no threads to attach a hose - very funny! Sanitary building quite new but not well maintained. Place characterized by permanent campers, you get the feeling of disturbing. Quite noisy at the weekend. Located in a nature park, the site is slightly elevated, so you have a very nice view. Unfortunately, contrary to the promises, no bread in the morning, or not at 9 am as said, but only after 11 am on request Contrary to the information in the ACSI and ADAC camping guide, there is now WiFi, even free of charge in the reception area.
