A Wonderful Time at the Campground
If you love natural campsites, this is the perfect place for you. Bathing and swimming in the crystal-clear water are also a lot of fun. Most campers’ requests are accommodated, and you’ll meet lots of nice people.

26 Years as a Long-Term Camper

Termination without giving a reason.
Long-term camper evicted without cause after 26 years
What a disaster! The new, inexperienced owner of a campground—who took over in 2026—cowardly terminated our lease this year via email, without giving any reason, even though I was standing right next to him, after 26 years of long-term camping on the beautiful Olba River. He hadn’t given the slightest... hint of this beforehand. When asked, he gave no answer. And we would have liked to know why. When I asked what I should do or not do in the future to have the termination revoked, he replied without looking up from his computer: “Stick with it.” We wouldn’t be the only ones, either. At our next meeting, he said—almost tearfully (with a witness present)—that he still belonged to the generation that knew what decency and respect meant. He claimed he was still new here and was just observing… As for respect, at 76 years old, it seems to have completely eluded him. Anyone who wants to become a long-term camper should be aware that their annual contracts leave the door wide open to arbitrary termination.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We deeply regret that you found the situation so disappointing and stressful, especially after so many years at our campground.
Treating all guests with respect and fairness is very important to us. We discussed the reasons for this with you and your wife during... a meeting.
The decision to terminate your membership was not made lightly, but was based on internal considerations and the circumstances as we see them. We ask for your understanding that we do not wish to publicly explain all the details of the background.
Our goal is always to ensure that life on the campground is pleasant and harmonious for everyone involved. We thank you for the many years we’ve shared and wish you all the best for the future.

Such a beautiful campground—everything was relatively clean and well-maintained. We were able to relax there, but the owners might want to ask themselves if this is really the right place for them!

We’re sorry that your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We take your comments seriously and thank you for taking the time to share them with us.

Regarding the front desk and check-in, we’d like to point out that registration is required for organizational reasons. Since we do not have designated plots,... we like to personally escort our guests to their campsites. Our Wi-Fi service and the limited areas where it is available are intentionally designed to support our philosophy of nature, peace, and relaxation.
We are always happy to adjust our arrival times based on current booking conditions and extend them as needed.

We regret that you felt, overall, that the value for money did not meet your expectations. Nevertheless, we thank you for your candid feedback and wish you all the best for your future travels.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Natural campsite in the biosphere reserve
The campsite is in a very idyllic location directly on Lake Olba. The area is characterized by many trees, which create a beautiful and natural atmosphere. The campsite is located in the middle of the Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve with its natural surroundings characterized... by ponds and forests and is ideal for cycling and hiking tours in the beautiful surroundings.
The sanitary facilities are clean and modern. A large children's playground and a directly adjacent bathing beach also offer something for families and children. The campsite operators are very friendly and accommodating. A highly recommended campsite for nature-loving people and families looking for relaxation.

A great place!
We and our dog were given a very friendly welcome and taken to our pitch.
There are several sanitary facilities.
All very clean.
The main sanitary facilities are new and also have a shower and washing machine/dryer.
There is also a small kiosk with bread service on the site. This is open... from 8 - 10 am.
It was very quiet and we enjoyed the birdsong early in the morning.
If you want to go swimming, snorkeling or kayaking, this is the place for you.
The crystal-clear water is perfect for this.
And if you take the kayak out again in the evening and are really quiet, you might even spot a nutria, sunfish or a kingfisher.
Our pitch was really great.
Even after rain, the ground was not soggy.
The trees around you are great and provide good shade when the sun is shining.
You can also get excursion destinations at reception, as well as games to borrow.

All in all, it was the kind of place we often looked for and found here.
We will definitely be back.

A dream for nature lovers and families

We have been coming to this wonderful nature campsite regularly for six years - and we feel welcome every time. The location right on the lake, in the middle of a nature reserve, is simply fantastic. The incredibly friendly operators, who put their heart and soul... into creating a pleasant atmosphere, deserve special mention. The new, very clean sanitary facilities add to the feeling of well-being.

For active vacationers, there are numerous opportunities for hiking and cycling on the nature trails of the surrounding pond landscape. A perfect place to enjoy nature and find peace and quiet. We always like to come back!

Very nice place at a great swimming lake
We stayed on the site for 10 nights and felt very comfortable. The pitches are not parceled out and are mostly shady. There was still enough space, even though we were there in high season.
There is a large playground for the children. The beach at Lake Olba is right next to the campsite.

The site is... well-kept and you can tell that it is run with passion.
There are 2 wash houses, only one of which also has showers. They were clean at all times.

There is a kiosk on the beach where you can also order breakfast rolls.

The location is perfect for nature lovers and cyclists. Bautzen is about 25 minutes away by car.

Camping the way you love it right on the lake
Very pleasant camping flair in a rustic ambience. The site offers everything we could wish for on vacation: Water/beach, partly shady pitches, friendly people, nice playground, good food.
The campsite is definitely the right place for small children, the playground and the beach provide the right conditions.

Not fancy, but everything you need. We are happy to recommend the campsite with fond memories!

- Water column far away - TV through the trees not possible, DVB-T unstable, D1 Telekom hardly any reception (TV and cell phone reception are only an indication) Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to lack of operator 😒
Quiet CP left to nature directly on the lake
Very friendly reception at reception, you are taken to the pitch and can stand as you like. Partly no meadow available and uneven. Sufficient power supply available, water only 1 column a little away. Gray water in the immediate vicinity of the reception. Main sanitary facilities NEW and very clean.... Showers with 0.50€ coin for 3 minutes completely sufficient, shower cubicle without shelf and only 1 hook on the door (according to the operator, the company has to improve the partitions and doors incorrectly attached) then a stainless steel shelf would also be attached. Very nice playground on the CP. Great starting point for cycling or running. Dog-friendly site, unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the lake. We didn't see any dog waste bag dispensers at the lake or on the campsite.
Mainly approx. 80% permanent campers with some unkempt pitches.

Relaxing campsite in Upper Lusatia
A great campsite in the "Oberlausitzer Heide- und Teichlandschaft" biosphere reserve in Saxony. The campsite is not for people who want to continue their orderly life from home at the campsite. There is no entertainment for children. Children and adults won't get bored on and around(!) the campsite.... There is a large playground and numerous games, table tennis tables and books are available to borrow free of charge from reception. The owners are very friendly and family-friendly, which is reflected in the atmosphere of the campsite. A real campsite for everyone except those who need pitches and luxury. The surrounding area offers numerous excursion possibilities and is just waiting to be explored! A must is a trip to the House of a Thousand Ponds in Wartha, preferably by bike. The cycle path around the adjacent ponds offers lots of interesting facts and unique nature for young and old. Bautzen, Dresden and Görlitz are also easily accessible by car. This gives you plenty of relaxing nature and yet the opportunity to experience a wide range of cultural attractions. An experience and real (insider) tip is the nature market in Wartha in mid-September. The water of Lake Olba is clean and clear. The sanitary facilities are always clean and are cleaned daily. The already good main sanitary building will be renovated again next winter (new windows, ventilation and showers!). There is a kiosk on site and Hennry's Einkaufseck in Kleinsaubernitz for shopping. Local beer, e.g. from Bautzen and Görlitz, is available from the drinks market in Dauban, delicious sausage from the butcher and the best bread rolls in Germany from the bakery in Malschwitz. A cycle ride on the Spree or Seeadler circular route from the campsite to Malschwitz is a good opportunity to experience the typical nature of the area. The ride goes via Wartha, Lömischau, Guttau and Salga and takes about 30 minutes.

Lots of nature, no unnecessary nonsense that only new campers need, great location - that's all you need.
Отрицательные
Grumpy long-term campers with prohibition signs here and there push the age average up considerably.
Perfect location with lots of peace and nature!
The location of the campsite is absolutely excellent, right in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing nearby apart from a village store, a small restaurant, petrol station and café. So it's pretty perfect. The pitches are all rather shady, which is also great. A stand of birch and oak trees surrounds... the entire Olba Lake, which incidentally has excellent water quality. The owners are super friendly and you can tell that this is a personal dream come true. About the campsite itself: it is a small site, the majority of which is already occupied by permanent campers and their typical caravan settlements. In the low season there is little going on, you can find your spot. In the high season, it could be a lot busier. The site meets my requirements perfectly, I don't need or want entertainment facilities and all the circus surrounding it. Toilets are clean, the mosquitoes are keen to bite ;-) I wouldn't find fault with the site itself, but luxury campers should avoid it (please avoid it!), simply because it lacks the usual comfort. There are NO parceled out pitches - thank the gods! Internet is Edge only, or none at all. If you want to get your kids away from their cell phones > this will be a party ;-) Various events are offered on a regular basis. What I noticed were the somehow grumpy permanent campers. All old and mostly on bikes. You can tell that you are only using "their" pitch as a guest and that they are actually the kings. Just ignore them, there are weirdos like that everywhere. The nature is brilliant, everything is available and the operators are really friendly. It's also inexpensive, so a little gem for nature lovers - well worth a visit!
