It was really great—we'll be back!
It wasn't our first time there, but it certainly won't be our last. The campground is exceptionally well-run; the grounds are very well-maintained, and the restroom facilities are always being cleaned and are always spotless. The staff at the very friendly reception desk are happy to accommodate requests—the... ladies there are really great. The campground is very quiet and perfect for biking; everything you need is just a 5-minute walk away. The outdoor pool is very affordable, and as a campground guest, you get 22 hours of free access to the beautiful indoor pool. The new restaurant owners are really friendly, the food is great, and it comes with a fantastic view of the Main River. Unfortunately, I had to leave a little earlier than planned, but it was a wonderful experience.

Schiefer Turm Campground
The campground has large sites that, depending on their location, have gravel, paving stones, or in some cases a bit of grass. It’s a bummer if you end up with a site with paving stones—it’s hard to get a tent stake into the ground there. Shaded spots are also scarce, which we really needed during the... week. Electricity hookups are nearby, while water and wastewater connections are a bit further away, depending on the site. The chemical toilet disposal point is well-located. The restroom facilities are on the first floor, so they’re not suitable for people with mobility issues. We were there during the hottest week, which unfortunately wasn’t great for the railing on the staircase leading to the restrooms—it’s painted black and gets so hot that you can burn your hand. The restrooms and wash areas are adequate and always clean. The staff at the front desk and the groundskeeper are very friendly and helpful. We were especially grateful for their service during the two power outages that occurred while we were cooking. The bread roll service works well. The downside is that you can’t place an order for the next day when you pick up your rolls; you have to come back later. The food at the pizzeria offers good value for the price. A nice perk is the 2-hour free admission to AquaSol, which we took advantage of given the hot temperatures. What we didn’t understand was that the campground is completely closed between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.—that hasn’t been the case at previous campgrounds we’ve visited. Sure, it’s a midday quiet period, but there could be a different way to handle it—especially for campers who are already registered. After all, access is only possible via license plate recognition anyway. Due to some of the points mentioned above, we’ve therefore given it only 3 stars, as there’s still room for improvement.

Beautiful place on the Main
On our trip from Kassel to the southern Black Forest, we took a 3-day break here. Strolling through Kitzingen and Volkach was very nice. Despite the fact that you are in the middle of the city, you could walk the dog well, the bike path leads directly past the square, a large Edeka and everything else you need in the immediate vicinity. Neat pitch with gravelled area in front of the caravan, so you didn't have to lay out a tent floor

A beautiful, well-maintained spot right on the Main River
We stopped at the campground on our way back from France. It’s idyllically located right on the Main River. The entire staff is extremely friendly. The campground is well-maintained, and the restrooms are top-notch. We were served very warmly in the small restaurant, and the food was delicious. We’d love to come back. Thanks to the team.

It is clean and well maintained, the showers, toilets are uniquely clean and beautiful, the shopping facilities, the swimming pool, entrance for 2 hours included in the camping price. The very nice owners.

The really big pitches. The pitches are very nice and level so you don't need wedges.

Our pitch was the only one that didn't drain after the thunderstorm with heavy rain, but of course the campsite operators can't help that. No other disadvantages.

Extended weekend
Stayed there over the weekend. Very nice central location. Nice connection to cycle paths to Würzburg etc. - Supermarkets nearby, so you can get everything you need! Would come again!

Very nice campsite
A very nice campsite situated on the Main, very friendly welcome from the two very nice ladies at reception. Very nice, large, well-kept pitches. The sanitary facilities are great and always clean.
Wifi works perfectly.
The restaurant next door is okay. The food wasn't bad, but could have been a bit... nicer. The bread rolls that can be picked up there in the morning are a bit overpriced (1.00 € for a normal wheat roll).
In the Edeka nearby (about 300 m) is the bakery Brothaus, very great selection of rolls, bread and other things, but the way is worth it.
We can definitely recommend the place.

The sanitary facilities are really unique. I was really impressed. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I thought it was really legendary :-) Above all, always super clean. Nice little place and above all the lady at reception was still waiting for me after 7pm and was super nice. I would come here again at any time.

Beautiful place in a beautiful location
We were only on the site for an overnight stay. The site is located directly on the Main and is very clean and well-kept. We received a very friendly welcome and had a spacious pitch with a gravel surface. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but renovated and very clean.
The restaurant at the campsite... has a lovely outdoor terrace where you can sit comfortably in the evening. The public swimming pool (outdoor and indoor pool with sauna) is right next to the campsite, but we didn't use it.

Evaluation of the campsite
The campsite is in a great location and you can go on beautiful tours by bike. The golden-colored equipment of the sanitary facilities is not always visible.

Very special sanitary facilities
The sanitary facilities are really very special. Glitter and gold everywhere! The quality suffers somewhat as a result and I'm curious to see what it will look like in two years' time...
Despite this, or perhaps because of it, I felt very comfortable there. There was a free wine tasting, a harbor festival... and Würzburg and the surrounding area are always worth a trip.
The outdoor pool and various shopping facilities are just a few minutes' walk away. The pitches are large and most people only stay for a few days.

Gladly again and again!
This was our third time here at Easter, and what can I say - as always, it was a great couple of days! We didn't use it ourselves, but according to other campers, the sauna in the neighboring indoor pool is very, very nice. Every now and then, depending on the wind, you can hear a train or a ship chugging past, but that doesn't bother you at all.

The next stay has already been booked and we are already looking forward to it!

And once again we spent a few nice relaxing days here. Beautifully located CP, right on the Main, quiet and yet you can quickly reach the city or the nearby shopping center. Ideal as an overnight pitch, but also for longer stays. Outdoor pool and indoor pool nearby. Ideal starting point for cycling tours,... the Main cycle path runs right past the site. The sanitary facilities are beautifully designed and always clean. WLAN reception very good and included in the price. nice restaurant with good price-performance ratio. The reception was very friendly and the lady at reception recommended a great pitch for us. Thanks again for that. We always feel comfortable on this pitch and will certainly come back again sometime

My experience
I'm not a great reviewer. In Franconia we say: not scolded is praised enough.
The decisive factor, however, was an older man who approached me in front of the men's shower with the words: "Outrageous! This is an imposition! How can you go to the washbasin without your upper body?"
Really? After showering... in the men's shower you're not allowed to brush your teeth without your upper body?
I'm afraid that it's precisely these people who are constantly nagging that everything should be better in their opinion and then add their two cents online.
After a very nice Whitsun vacation at the Leaning Tower, we promptly booked our summer vacation here too.

My experience was consistently positive:
Electricity and shower were included, which we had to pay extra for elsewhere.
We have never had better pitches anywhere, but many worse ones. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The surroundings were great. The site is quiet and you can only hear traffic or trains when the wind is "good". But even then you can rest and sleep at any time. Free and fast WLAN.
There are disinfectant dispensers in the toilets, which you can use to disinfect the seat yourself.
The barrier is closed during rest periods. Outside the rest period, it recognizes the vehicle registration number and you don't have to get out or wait.
Many pitches have gravelled areas so that the awning is not on the ground and no streams can find their way into the awning in heavy rain.
No suction/wave impact on the jetty
E-center, bakery, outdoor pool within walking distance. Sufficient water points. Sufficient trees for shade. No permanent campers. Well-kept hedges and shrubs.

My conclusion after 16 days of summer vacation: My family and I had a perfect vacation. The owners have provided a pleasant setting and beautiful place for it.

Unfortunately I don't know the name of the lady at reception, but thank you to her and the Hartmann family for a wonderful time and we'll definitely be seeing you again!

Great location, good service, strange showers
The site is right on the riverbank, well laid out and nicely done. Restaurant at the entrance very good and bread service. Unfortunately long lunch break. The sanitary building is elevated, you always have to climb the steps. Extravagant furnishings with golden taps and so on. Unfortunately, the showers... are impossible, chic with rainforest shower head and lion design on the wall but no splash protection, no possibility to sit down or get dry, everything gets wet. A complete idiot planned this, there would have been enough space. Otherwise everything is clean. There are also jetties and direct access to the water, but the shore pitches are very small. There are no comfort pitches with water/waste water. WiFi is usually too poor to be of any use.

So nice that we even extended it!
We stayed at the campsite at the beginning of August. We actually only wanted to stay for four days, but we liked it so much that we extended our stay!
Friendly and helpful staff, a very well-kept and quiet site with large pitches. Excellent sanitary facilities. The restaurant belonging to the site is highly recommended!
So, we'll be back!
