Very friendly welcome, top: We had booked for 6 nights, when we arrived it was raining heavily. When we checked in, the operator said: "We'll leave the departure date open if I want to leave earlier". Unfortunately, there is hardly any accommodation like this anymore. But we stayed the 6 nights anyway....
The pitches are gravelled with adjoining grass. It's super flat and you don't sink in when it rains. The whole site makes a very tidy and clean impression.
The site is not completely fenced in, everything is open. This is very practical for dog owners, as it's easy to get down from the pitch for a walk.
Four pitches always share a power point with a water connection. If you want, you can rent a bathroom, but in my opinion this is not necessary. Everything is super clean and modern. W-Lan is free with good coverage. There is a washing machine and a dryer. Unfortunately you have to put in at least 3x1€ to find out that the washing program only runs for 60-90min. Here would have to be readjusted again.
There are no shops in the immediate vicinity, you have to drive 15 minutes by car. You can order bread rolls in advance, but 90 cents for a "normal" wheat roll is already in the upper price range.
Despite the proximity to the highway, you can't hear anything from it. Therefore, the place is also ideal for those passing through. We will certainly be back when we are in the area.

Nice campsite not just for passing through
We stayed at the Pyhrn-Priel campsite for two nights in September on our way to Croatia and one night on our way back. We know the site from the time before the renovation and the takeover by the current operators. In fact, there is a very clear improvement in all respects, actually no comparison to... before. With its distance from the Phyrn highway, the site is actually ideal for those passing through, which is actually a shame, because you can also spend an entire mountain vacation in Spital am Pyhrn. It is also a nice place for this, which is quiet and meets our requirements perfectly. Of course, families with children might miss entertainment or activities for children, but we wouldn't want that either.
The restaurant is also run by the owner and obviously also appeals to locals. The ambience reflects the taste in music of the owner, who seems to be our age. We liked this and the lovingly designed atmosphere. (Only the artificial spring flowers on the tables in the fall were a little disconcerting). The food on the short menu was good and reasonably priced.
All in all, we were very satisfied and would be happy to return, perhaps not just when we are passing through. In any case, we wish the friendly and likeable owners all the best and every success with their business, in which they have obviously invested a lot.

We didn't make it to the campsite on time by 10pm, which is why we called the campsite and told them we would be a few minutes late.
As we were "only" 5 minutes late, they waited for us (which is not a matter of course these days) and allowed us to park our caravan in the space provided for us.
We were even able to order bread rolls at this time.

A big thank you once again to the operators, who gave us a great night's sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning after a 12-hour drive with lots of traffic jams and an unexpected storm.

I came across the site because the campsite at gleinkersee is always fully booked. I stayed with my 2 boys (6 and 11) for a long weekend. The site is quiet with a great view. We had nice weather. You can order bread rolls in advance. We mainly went hiking. The gleinkersee is a natural jewel. Unfortunately... really busy. It's almost impossible to find a parking space. But it's spread out around the lake. And the high ropes course is really cool and worth the money. We were a bit disappointed by the Wurbauerkogel (rip-off). You can also eat in the camping restaurant. We didn't try it. All in all, a great area with lots of excursion destinations and the site is really pleasant. We will be back.

The location is beautiful with a mountain panorama and a nice mountain swimming pool nearby. You can easily cycle to Windischgarsten... or Spital without any inclines. We have undertaken several beautiful alpine hikes.

We arrived in pissing weather and just wanted a schnapps...although they had a day off in the restaurant, every camper was looked after...even with food and we got our drinks with cool music in the "Longhorn Bar". We think the loving renovation of the bar, beer garden and sanitary facilities has been a success! We felt very comfortable! Thank you very much!
