We were able to choose our own plot, and all the ones we saw were very spacious and in good locations.

Unfortunately, the medical supply store that was closest to us only had one restroom stall. Since it was the off-season, that was okay…

We were able to choose our own spot. The restroom building, which is located on the hill, is getting a bit old, but it was always clean. Waste separation is a problem; although there are marked bins, no one sorts their trash. Shortly before pickup, all the bins are overflowing and the trash bags are piled up in front of them. The proximity to the town of Trevoux is great—right on the Saône. You can get anywhere by bike using the bike paths. A large Carrefour supermarket isn’t far away. It’s wonderfully quiet during the day and at night, though it can get a bit noisier in the early evening.

Great location and excellent amenities

We really liked the location along the Saône, the selection of shaded spots, and the size of the campground.

The restrooms are a bit cramped and could use a more frequent cleaning. There’s no toilet paper or soap for washing your hands. Wi-Fi costs extra. The reception is still poor.

Friendly staff, nice to be able to find our own spot, and we bought a delicious pizza from the pizza cart. We’ll be back next year.

Advance reservations are possible, and check-in is straightforward. You can choose your own spot; there are also spots right by the river. If you arrive late—for example, due to traffic—you’ll receive the necessary information. The Wood Lodges—or whatever they’re called there—looked nice from the outside, with a terrace offering a beautiful view. I can’t comment on the interior, since we only stayed one night in a campsite spot. You’re right in the center of Trévoux, which is wonderful for a stroll or a stop for refreshments.

If you need a swimming pool or something similar, there isn't one.
