Thanks to its terraced layout, many sites offer a view of the water. The campground is easily accessible from the road between Fort William and Mallaig. The reception is well-organized; everything is prepared, and brochures and site descriptions are available for... arriving travelers even outside of office hours.
The sites are sufficiently large, though not overly spacious. The restroom facilities are extensive, but some areas aren’t entirely clean (though this is largely due to the guests and not the staff).
There’s a food truck on the grounds that sells burgers, toast, and similar items from morning until noon.
The “Hogwarts Express” (The Jacobite) train route runs right past the campground. The passing times (four times daily) are posted at the front desk.
We were quite satisfied, but we had underestimated the distance to Fort William and Ben Nevis (our mistake). The site is large, lots of mobile homes. The pitches are large. The sanitary facilities were always clean at the end of July. However, you have to drive to Fort William, as it is about 6 km. The overall terraced location towards the loch is very nice. The pitches are mainly parking lots, functional but not beautiful. The reception is very friendly. There is nothing wrong with the sanitary facilities. The store has the most... important things at reasonable prices. Almost frighteningly quiet despite the high season, which is also the problem: the site seems strangely soulless. Children's playground consists of a climbing frame. That's exactly how we felt in May. I would also like to add that the site is the ideal stopover for taking the only cable car in Great Britain, seeing Ben Nevis and taking the Jacobite Steam Train over the Glenfinnan Viaduct.
