Pomeroy Caravan Park - Peak District
Fine sanitation for British standards (including family bathroom with bathtub), friendly staff. Fresh milk and eggs available and homemade scoop ice cream. Mini store has a small selection.

There are some 34 sites for caravans and tents equipped with electricity. There are also two fields for free camping... (tents only). These are unfortunately found on a slope, which sometimes makes sleeping a bit uncomfortable.

The area is central in terms of hiking and biking trails (e.g. Monsal Trail). Nice towns like Bakewell (famous for its cakes) can be reached within 30 minutes by car.

For the night's rest this campground unfortunately gets a big insufficient, although the owners themselves can't do anything about it. Firstly, there is the busy road, secondly, the nearby quarry is in operation 24/7 (with associated freight traffic) and thirdly, there is the approach route for the airport in Manchester (an average of every 5 minutes a plane over depending on the wind direction). So take earplugs with you.
