More Appearance Than Substance
We had booked a stay at Campingpark Hoogduin from July 26 to August 2. However, we left on July 30 because we didn’t like it there.
The campground has an older and a newer restroom building; the newer one, in particular, is similar in design to those at several other Dutch campgrounds we’ve visited,... and it was always clean during our stay.
The staff were professionally friendly.
The campground has a kind of French fry stand and a bread roll service—though the rolls were usually sold out by the afternoon—as well as
a sort of self-service store. This store carries all kinds of ready-to-eat meals, pasta, and rice, as well as chips, candy,
and, fortunately, beverages such as water, Coke, Fanta, wine, and beer.
There are no fresh foods of any kind, such as fruit, vegetables, etc.
The nearest grocery store is about 2 kilometers away.
The campground is teeming with rabbits, and pigeons are also a common sight. We also saw several rat traps, though no rats themselves.
We didn’t find the place to be particularly well-maintained.
We had a site right next to the hedge along the road to Cadzand.
That hedge should have been trimmed a long time ago, and the drainage ditch beneath it should have been cleared of stinging nettles.
Unfortunately, not every dog owner cleans up after their dog like we do, even though there were several dog waste stations that were always well-stocked with plastic bags.
To get to the beach, you just had to cross the dune—which was great—and we all enjoyed that; however, despite the nearby beach house, it just didn’t click for us here.
We probably won’t be returning to this campground.

Positive ting
Proximity to the beach, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, size and layout of the pitches
Negative ting
Indoor facilities, opening hours of the restaurant and store
Clean and solid campsite in incomparable proximity to the beach
Super nice site, just a few minutes' walk to the beach. Paths, hedges, pitches, sanitary facilities and main building were super clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't kind to us, so we would have liked more indoor facilities due to the rain and storm. But... we knew that beforehand. The coffee bar and the small park store are only open during reception opening hours. In my opinion, there would be significant potential for improvement here.
Otherwise we were very satisfied.

Positive ting
Actually a nice campsite, close to the sea but due to a booking error on the part of the site management everything ended badly.
Negative ting
Dealing with the customer - despite incorrect booking by the site management
The customer is just a number here!
We had reserved 2 motorhome pitches in advance and booked an additional apartment on arrival for friends to celebrate a birthday together - within our family. We were promised an apartment for 3 nights (Bungalow N°3). On arrival, however, we were allocated a different apartment. Everything seemed fine,... we paid in advance, until we found out on the last day that the site management had made a mistake in allocating the apartment and so we were sent off without any ifs or buts and had to leave on the day of the birthday. The site management had rented out the wrong apartment and yet no one made the slightest effort to solve the problem in our favor. We had to leave early without an alternative, although we had actually booked for two more nights. The customer is just one number among many here. We will never stay at this site again - this is not how you can or should deal with customers. The site management definitely doesn't care about dissatisfied customers.
Apart from that, there is nowhere to fill up with water on site, although this is stated and paid for. Never again!

Positive ting
Proximity to the beach, cleanliness, friendliness
Negative ting
Not a store for a quick purchase in between
We were very satisfied
The pitch is really ok for the price! The pitches are quite large, ours was certainly 120 m². Water, waste water, digital TV. However, I only found 3 German channels: ARD, ZDF, WDR. But no matter, we only used it for the news. The sanitary facilities are sufficient in number and always clean. Shower... water runs for 4 minutes, which should actually be enough. Via PLUS Lohman in Breskens there is a shopping and delivery service (order via app, pick up at reception from 08.00, delivery costs are waived). This mitigates the lack of a shop on the premises. However, you shouldn't insist on getting exactly the bread rolls you ordered - we called it the "bread roll lottery". A stroke of luck: while we were there, there was a special offer of 4 rolls for 99 ct. Otherwise, you can be in Cadzand in a few minutes by bike.
The huge beach is just 5 minutes away, as is the cycle path network. There is a great app for this, with which you can easily plan your tours (FIETSKNOOP). Knokke-Heist is not far away, Sluis is worth a visit, Aardenburg and Oostburg less so, Breskens - well. Cadzand-Bad is ok for pizza and ice cream and has a large bike store. But attractive is different! But that has nothing to do with the campsite, which is definitely recommendable.

Positive ting
Wheelchair accessible Close to the beach
Negative ting
No discounts even in the low season
Top space for wheelchair users
The sanitary facilities for wheelchair users are absolutely great. Very clean and equipped with plenty of grab rails and shower seats. The emergency call in the wheelchair toilet is very well installed. Everything is really great here - however, the site is quite expensive, even in the low season. There are no discounts, not even a discount like the ACSI sticker might suggest.

Positive ting
Location, quiet at night, cleanliness
Negative ting
Lots of traffic on parking spaces
Beautiful beach
The campsite is very close to the beach, where dogs are allowed to run off the lead before 10am and after 6pm, even in season. Toilets and showers clean and well maintained. We were a bit unlucky with our pitch, which was at the entrance and exit and was very busy, but there are also quieter places, The purchased WLAN did not always work well.

Positive ting
Short walk to the beach, clean place. Staff is friendly.
Negative ting
Not really cheap and some pitches not well paved. Even on request, no alternative offer in case of problems.
Rather poor offer in the low season
We spent the Whitsun vacation here and the place was pretty full. There was still some entertainment on the Whitsun weekend (handicrafts, children's disco), but from Tuesday onwards it was over and there was nothing more for the little ones. The weather was quite good and we were able to do a lot, although... there were one or two thunderstorms and this shows how well the pitches are prepared. If the access road is higher than the pitch, you are quickly ankle-deep in water and the ground becomes a mass like on the Wadden Sea. The awning is rainproof all round, but woe betide it if it comes from below... as there was a persistent problem with the mud on this pitch, we asked the operators for another pitch. Without even looking at the PC, we were told "nothing available". At least we were asked if an employee should come by. They couldn't tell us exactly when, because you don't want to sit around the tent all day waiting.... An employee did come within an hour and brought some sand which he applied to the soft ground. So when the next thunderstorm came, the water level at this point was reduced by one centimeter. Fortunately, the day of departure was warm and rain-free and we were able to pack up the tent dry. However, everything on the ground was too wet to pack straight away, so we had to dry these things a little longer. It's amazing how efficient the staff are in this case, they were promptly at the site shortly after 11am to tell us that we had to leave the site by 11am. We are seeing more and more that the campsite operators along the Dutch North Sea are paving everything over with mobile homes, bungalows and vacation homes, good campsites are shrinking and as a camper you get the feeling that you are no longer wanted with a tent, caravan or motorhome. A pitch costs between 30 and 65 euros per night. In the case of CP Hoogduin, there are also the showers and the technology here is often on strike. We had several occasions where the box didn't work at all or only after 2 or 3 attempts, but something was still debited from the value key. As a rule, however, it was a game of chance when the box stopped flashing, so you always have to hurry when doing your personal hygiene. This works better with prepaid cards which are already included in the total price with a minimum credit and which you can leave inserted to decide for yourself how long the shower runs. The sanitary facilities are otherwise quite clean, but when the site is full they are also quite busy and there are sometimes queues in front of the showers. The advantage of this site is that you are directly on the beach via the dune, and Cadzand itself is about half an hour's walk or 5 to 10 minutes by bike

Positive ting
- beach - large pitches - sanitary facilities - location
Negative ting
- Store opening hours
great location directly behind the dunes
We spent two weeks here and would definitely recommend the campsite to others! The sea is really only a stone's throw away and the site is quiet and well-kept. The pitches are large to very large and some are dog-free. The playground is nice and the sanitary blocks are modern. Hot showers are available... for 20 cents per 3 minutes, which is ok considering the generally not so expensive pitch price. The WLAN is unfortunately not free, but works very well. There is a bus stop in front of the entrance and the village of Cadzand-Bad can also be easily reached by bike or theoretically on foot. There is also a Spar there, as the well-stocked store on the site was unfortunately only open in the morning (in July), which is not particularly customer-friendly. There is a lot to discover in the area and the beach is a dream and not overcrowded.

Positive ting
Location and facilities.
Negative ting
Functional defects see above.
Modern, very well-equipped pitch
Large CP directly behind the dyke/beach with many leisure facilities, store, restaurant. Very well sized, versatile, modern sanitary facilities. Well frequented even in the low season, full at weekends. Pitches on grass, spacious plots, all with electricity, water, waste water and cable TV. 28 € all... inclusive. Already quite full in the low season, so booking recommended. The malfunctions of both the barrier card and the shower chip were annoying. The young ladies at reception seemed overwhelmed.

Negative ting
Opening hours minimarket and restaurant
Great location
The location of the site is great, over the small road, over the dune = beach. Pitches are different, open meadow, fenced in with hedges. Good wind protection. Minimarket opening hours 9-12°° take some getting used to. Restaurant only open at weekends. Otherwise great surroundings; close to Belgium Knokke 10 km away. Great beach, shallow, therefore child-friendly. Will go there again. Advance booking strongly recommended.

Visit during the Easter vacations 2017
Hello everyone, we had the place for a week and are very satisfied. Price/performance and contact were great, we went to the beach a lot as it was only 3 minutes away. The store was open every day until 12:00 and provided us with the most important things. In the evening Dutch meat platter from the snack at normal prices. Thank you, we will be back!
