Well-kept, practical, and pretty laid-back
A beautiful, well-maintained campground where you quickly realize: Someone really cares about this place. The campsites are neat and well-maintained, with water and electricity right at the site—that’s exactly how camping should be.

The restrooms were also impressive: clean and tidy, without having... to wonder whether you should change your shoes before stepping inside. 😉

For a little morning luxury, there’s a bread roll delivery service. So if you’d rather wake up to the smell of fresh bread rolls than the sound of your own fridge, you’re in good hands here.

The washing machine is pleasantly affordable—a small but nice bonus, especially for families.

Another perk: you get a discount for visiting the nearby park. This lets you combine your camping trip with an outing, and your wallet will be at least a little happier too.

The only real downside for us was the hillside location. Depending on your site, things can get a bit steep—so leveling out the trailer requires a little extra effort. And if you set your coffee down on the table in the morning, you might want to check which way it’s going to roll first. 😄

Our verdict: A well-maintained and well-organized campground with clean restrooms, short distances between facilities, and some nice extras. Aside from the hillside location, there’s really little to complain about here—it’s a place where you quickly feel at home.

Beautiful campsite
We initially only booked one night as a stopover.
As we liked the campsite and felt very comfortable, we booked another night without any problems.
We also took the opportunity to visit the nearby zoo with the children.
Another advantage is that the dog is allowed.
We were able to choose the pitch ourselves....
We checked in at 2 pm and still had plenty to choose from.
The gentleman at reception also served us in a friendly manner.
We would love to come back.

Friendly campsite
We visited this campground in transit from Denmark to the Netherlands. Pleasant that it is just below Hamburg and near the Autobahn to Bremen. Finally rest after having taken the obstacle Hamburg and Elbetunnel.
The weather had been very wet before our arrival and this combined with the slope of the... pitches, wet grass and boggy ground was not ideal for heavy caravans and campers. Fortunately, our tow vehicle is a Volvo XC70 Cross Country, so getting away proved no problem.

Super campsite near Hamburg
Great, quiet campsite or rather pitch with full infrastructure. Only: 2 showers and toilets per gender a bit few from time to time, but that's complaining on a high level! There is a €3 discount for visiting the adjacent wildlife park. From here you have a bus connection to Harburg station and from there... an RB/S-Bahn connection to Hamburg main station and Landungsbrücken, for example. This means you can be in the center of Hamburg in just over an hour by public transport, with buses running approximately every hour. Everything is very relaxed here, you won't find any stress!

As we used the site as a reconnaissance site for HH, none!
Great place, not only to explore Hamburg...
We used the site as a stopover for the trip to the Baltic Sea and to explore Hamburg.
We received a friendly welcome and were advised to take a parking space on the right-hand side (uphill) as rain was forecast. When it really rained, we knew why. The site is sloping, overgrown with grass and when it... rains, the caravans on the left-hand side have to be pulled out by the site's own wheel loader (great service!). The drainage of the rainwater was otherwise problem-free.
The wash house is a bit small considering the size of the site, but it wasn't a problem for us. Otherwise there is water and electricity at the pitches. The sanitary building is well equipped with a shower, WC, kitchen/sink and chemical WC disposal. In the evening you can pre-order bread rolls for the next morning. Otherwise, there is no store or restaurant worth mentioning on the site.
There is a great wildlife park right next door (€3 discount). You can easily spend a whole day there. The restaurant there was visually appealing and you could even have breakfast there in the morning.
The HVV bus stop was in front of the CP. By bus and train to HH (45min), simply recommended!
Conclusion: For a short vacation, a stopover or just to explore Hamburg, simply a great and fair place.

From here you can not only get to the wildlife park but also quickly to Hamburg. You have great nature and peace and quiet, but you can also eat in the Wildpark restaurant. Bread rolls are served in the morning. The wash house is very clean and well maintained. We think the place is ideal.

Great place for short or long stays
We are delighted with the campsite! The location in the middle of nature and close to the wildlife park offered a wonderful view and pleasant peace and quiet at all times. The sanitary facilities were always clean and easily accessible. We were able to arrive and depart very flexibly. The proximity to... Hamburg offered many opportunities to organize our free time in a varied way. Our questions were always answered. We would come back at any time - whether for a short or long stay.

Wonderful parking space - with restrictions - 1 hour before Hamburg
The restrictions: On Sundays and public holidays, campers must leave the pitch between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., which is a particular headache for guests with caravans. Where to put the trailer? From an occupancy rate of approx. 25% and/or if you have to leave the pitch at 10:00 a.m., 2 showers and... 2 toilets are clearly not enough! The advantages: You can get to the Speicherstadt or the Schanzenviertel within 1 hour by public transport! And after your stay in the city, you can have an excellent dinner in the nearby Wildpark restaurant.

Great little campsite near Hamburg. There are only limited entry times and the reception is not always manned, but the rest works on a basis of trust. The sanitary facilities were impeccable (even with disinfectant), the connections at the pitches were close and sufficient. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Price/performance ratio is top! The only drawback is that the pitch has a steep slope, so you need a few more boards to jack it up.

We are pleasantly surprised! Gladly again.
Small clean pitch. You can choose your own place, arrival is always possible until 8 pm, if necessary you can even park in front of the barrier until the next morning, but then you have no code for the sanitary facilities, the toilets and showers were always perfect during our stay, the best thing was... that there was disinfection in the toilet!!! TOP. Free WLAN at the wash house, if you park nearby you even have WLAN in the car :) The surrounding area is beautiful, unfortunately we didn't make it to the zoo due to Hamburg's shady weather, but we'll be back :)

We were there at the end of September. The reception was very friendly. We were given a folder with information material, which also contained a voucher for €3 for the wildlife park. The site is very quiet and the sanitary facilities are extremely clean. In the morning, bread rolls were delivered directly... to the mobile home. You could eat very well in the wildlife park restaurant. In addition to the wildlife park, the Kiekeberg open-air museum is also within easy walking distance. Previously, you could only use the parking space from Monday to Saturday. According to the operator, an additional parking lot is to be built in 2019 so that the parking space can also be used on Sundays. We will definitely be back.

Great, small CP! Somewhat few, but very clean sanitary facilities (2 showers, 4 toilets with a total of approx. 70 pitches) even with children's toilet seats. The bread roll service even includes delivery to the caravan early in the morning and the pitches are a bit sloping, but very well-kept and clean and right next to the forest. Very nice.

Only open on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer vacations. A "no-go" for visitors to Hamburg (Elphi, harbor, musicals, etc.).
Almost too bad as "just" a place to stay overnight, but ideal for this purpose
First things first: Caravans are of course also accepted. Regardless of whether it's a camper van or a caravan, the night costs EUR 18.00 and that includes everything: pitch, electricity, water, waste disposal, showers, personal fee. Equally important: we have rarely experienced such friendly staff,... the friendliness is not just an act. For newly arriving guests, the entrance is opened, everyone looks for their own pitch and connects the electricity, depending on the time of day, payment is made shortly afterwards or the next morning. For those arriving after 20:00, there are 6 pitches in front of the barrier. The site itself scores with its wonderful tranquillity and lush greenery, even in this Sahara summer, although the lawn was not watered. The sanitary facilities were almost always very clean, but unfortunately there were also pigs among the campers who made a mess just minutes after cleaning. At first glance, the facilities were tight with 2 showers and 2 toilets each for men and women, but even when the pitch was almost full, we never had to wait. The bread roll service shortly before 8:00 a.m. worked perfectly, freshly baked and tasty, although they could have been a bit bigger. There is also a common room, accessible as well as sanitary, dishwashing, kitchen and washing machine room only with code number, this changes every Sunday after departure date. Important for all visitors to Hamburg: The bus line 340 stops directly in front of the site, the bus runs every hour to Harburg station, from there the S-Bahn every 10 minutes in the direction of Hamburg-Hbhf. What else is important? The site is open from April to October, unfortunately only at weekends during the summer vacation. A well-stocked Edeka supermarket is 2 km away, the "big" supermarkets are 6 - 8 km away. Almost next door, the restaurant in the wildlife park is recommended, and there are many other options for the lazy cook all around. Oh yes, I almost forgot, the wildlife park itself is an absolute must. If it weren't for the fact that all our relatives live nearby, we would be there often and not just for hospital visits like this time.

Good "campsite" near Hamburg. We were looking for a campsite near Hamburg that was affordable or cheap to visit Hamburg. The campsite is actually a parking lot on a meadow for the wildlife park. However, it is separated by a barrier and has an extra sanitary building with a lounge, kitchen and washing... facilities. Supply and disposal is well organized. The groundsman is super nice. There is also a bread roll service. You order your bread rolls until 6pm and they are delivered between 8am and 8:30am. When you visit, you also get a voucher for a discount on the entrance fee to the wildlife park. The wildlife park is also very beautiful and lovingly maintained. Everything was clean at all times. Showers are included in the price. We can highly recommend the place.

We were only there for one night. Was very nice, just put somewhere the groundskeeper probably comes. OK sanitary house only with number code if you have to!!! At the game park good restaurant. Bread service interesting are brought to the door I hope on weekdays they taste better! Will certainly come back for a Hamburg tour.

This is how camping should be .....
Camping in the parking lot of the Schwarze Berge wildlife park. Everything you need is there. A modern, clean sanitary building, bread roll service and a waste disposal station. If you expect more from camping, this is definitely the wrong place. The nearest S-Bahn station in Hamburg is about 10-15 minutes away by car, or alternatively there is a bus. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.
